XVII Fuji Television Japanese Grand Prix

We will be using the official AMS track for this event (Kansai Classic)

Sunday December 1st
20:00 - Qualifying session (1 hour, 12 laps)
21:00 - Warm Up (10 mins)

21:00 - Start of the race (53 laps or 2 hours) --> RACE RESULTS <--

Race Start Procedure

- The race will feature a formation lap, followed by a re-grid and standing start.

Behaviour on track

- As for all ISO races, it is required you use your real name both in-game and on the forum. Thank you.

- Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only.

- Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race.

- Respect the red condition at the end of the pitlane.

Application and Interpretation of the Regulations

The admins/moderators are qualified to solve any problems raised by the application and the interpretation of the present regulations.

Entry List:

The entry list will open on Wednesday Nov 20th after the STW race, first come, first serve. You can post asking for up to three cars or teams. The admins retain the right to refuse a car for a driver deemed too quick or of unknown performance.

Some notes for you all

- A server is already up for you to test cars
- The entry list will open after this Wednesday's STW race (20th December)
- This race is also being used to evaluate data, so after feel free to give feedback
- Make sure you practice on race fuel with the new tires, there is no point in just doing qualifying runs and then hoping the car will behave then on race tires.
- Each car treats tires differently, so feel free to test multiple cars until you find one that suits you.

Just so you are aware, just because we have given you a quick car this time (In some cases) it doesn't automatically mean that you will be allowed one for the season.

This race is not just helping us finalise the mod, but also to help us evaluate how quick the drivers are in certain groups of cars.

I'm really not understanding what I'm seeing on the HUD in regards to these tires. Should we just flat out be ignoring that info? There is no possible way it is "correct"....
Am I seeing surface heats? I thought maybe that was the case, but considering the temps stay outrageously high at all times, I'm now doubting that.

I mean, in the end, it's fairly simplistic; tires overheat, car pushes. Tires "cool down" (still way hotter than any other tire I've ever seen) and the car is ok. Bottom line, don't overdrive car...ok, got it. But, that doesn't explain what the heck is going on with the tires (to me, at least)
I've no real clue on what tuning to do (outside of "feel"...and that'll only take me so far) so a summary of the tire behavior in this mod would be really beneficial.
