which of the remaining s*** boxes is the least s***tiest? I would suggest that you try the Ligier, Coloni, Lotus and Footwork. The Ligier has, by now, worked around the Lambo engine issues way better and is a decent lower mid-field car. The Lotus is in a similar boat, slightly slower in a straight line than the Ligier but with a better Chassis. The Coloni has little chance of points but is a nice package to drive. The Footwork, Fondmetal and AGS drive similarly, more understeery by default than the Coloni but around the same pace.

I'll have to give up my ride (and championship run) - yet another set of circumstances out of my control (thanks mother.) have led to me being forced to leave my home, making it virtually impossible to say whether I'm able to compete come the last two races of the season, but most likely it won't be possible as I don't even know where I'll live by the time the next race week is announced. tl;dr: Congratulations on winning the championship Dave. Also, please free my car. I feel sorry Pascal. I hope you sort this out as soon as possible. This is really bad news.

If everything goes as fast as possible, i might be back for Adelaide, but in no way capable of being competitive as I gave my Tyrrell away, but thank you for the well wishes. I'll figure it out and I may come back.

That's fine, rules are clear. I'm sure Jonatan will do a good use of this car You can try again if you fancy the Tyrrell. Third time lucky? Yes, please

You can still be the 2nd posthumous F1 champion if Dave does not score enough points in those races -and I'm betting the quick folks are not going to make it any easier for him. Take care of yourself, think about what you have learned so far and move on - life for sure does go on! We will be here when you come back

Thank you for your inputs. And which is the most survivable ride, which is most likely to finish a race if you keep it on the track? I'm realistic enough about fetching any points...

Probably the Lotus if no one takes it.

The Lambo engine can be a bit temperamental but otherwise any of them can make it to the finish with a relatively safe drive and setup. So give them a try on the server and see which of them is closest to what you prefer handling wise and then many of us would be happy to help you with a base set. För wings at Suzuka you should prob run around 43/43

Well, after taking the various candidates for a spin offline, I'll ask for the Fondmetal. The Lotus has certainly the greatest potential, but its also the car I am most inconsistent with. Each time I hit a curb, its trying to kill me! The Ligier feel somewhat ... heavyhanded, doesn't do terrible things, but always needs some persuation to put it where it should be. The Fondmetal seems pretty benign, even though it has a tendency to be somewhat uncooperative when going to far over the curb, and aerodynamics seem to lack, but the basic balance is fine and the engine has a characteristic that suits me well.
And you get that lovely raunchy growl of a DFR! ;-)

Thank you for the seat in Tyrrell. Pascal : If in any case you'd make it to the Japanese GP I will be pleased to give the car back to you anytime- hopefully that league admins won't mind. Like all of the ISO drivers I'm still counting that the championship title will be decided on the racetrack with Pascal and Dave making a great show till the last yards of the Adelaide GP

Thank you for that generous offer Cezariusz, but since I've now moved into a sort of emergency shelter building until I can find an apartment (good luck with that in Berlin), it's guaranteed that I won't be racing at least in Japan, most likely I won't be racing in Adelaide either. That's a huge bummer since I've put thousands of laps in on both tracks during the summer break, so I was confident that I could at least be a real challenge. However, don't give me hope about Dave DNFing or scoring, at most, 4 points in 2 races. He's really up to speed since the summer break, and he thoroughly deserves that title now that I'm out, given he's been there when he had to be. All I hope for, is that maybe Cez can help mount a challenge for the constructors title for Braun Tyrrell Honda. BTW, i can shoot you my Tyrrell setups, if you wanna. Just gotta get my laptop hooked into the wifi here, lol

Just gotta get my laptop hooked into the wifi here, lol How fast is the wifi there? Maybe you are not out of the action yet. I would encourage you to do some online tests. Public hotspot is the name of the game. And it doesn't even reach my room. I'm currently using my phone (with its limited data) as a hotspot. Plus, I have a roommate (who, however, likes racing games too so maybe something can be done but I do not promise anything) so putting up my rig is currently out of the question too. Not to mention that I wouldn't want to get into trouble with the staff, should the races run past 22H00 (because of noise levels) - but I'll give an update if there is one. Maybe my roommate is fine with me putting up my wheel and everything and, given that both races are in November, my mobile data plan will be recharged, so that only leaves the noise level issue and the general circumstance that I'm not even sure how long I'll be in this establishment.
Also, just to make this clear, should (which again, I don't think is very likely, but still) the opportunity for me arise to race at least one of the races, would "the swap" that Cezariusz mentioned above even be allowed from an administrator point of view?

No, Cezariusz does not have the authority to choose who gets his car if he declares himself absent. You would have to coordinate when he declares himself absent so you can immediately request the car as a one-off after he posts.

I meant me re-taking the Tyrrell through the course of him releasing it and me being the first to ask for it as a permanent drive for the past two races, but that solution is fine for me. Thanks for clarifying that

Difficult scenario Pascal. Take care of you first. We'll see you on track again soon, I have no doubt. I thought same champion thing as Alberto, with J. Rindt reference. But didnt want to go there lol

I'm definitely going to be doing offline practice, so if I manage to be available, I'll most likely confirm that at the last moment (one day prior or something) due to said situation, but given that my rig is put up all weirdly and my shifter is mounted wayyy too high...even if I were there I wouldn't be able to go 100%. So it'd take a miracle the likes of which I've yet to see in order for me to be able to actually win this. So don't keep the hopes up too high. Trust me, the winner will be a deserved one, nonetheless

Cheeky, but... if none of the regulars show interest, I'd be once time's up. If I was allowed to, of course. Still remember how I actually drove the Tyrrell on rF1 at modded moist Adelaide and crashed into the wall
Actually, I think I've crashed out of all Adelaide starts so far...

Can safely say that you're too quick for the Tyrrell David. Gotta doubt I can do the crazy laps of Pascal with it, or follow Anders & DJ. Had the Jordan before(another tier 2 car) and I couldn't either. *insert nervous sweating smiley*
