I also like a lot from New Order True Faith, Bizarre love triangle, 1963 and Regret, but this one is also very cool!

Admittingly, I had a crush on Shirley back in my teenage days...

Apparently! Talk Talk is one of those many '80s pop bands I happily forgot about, though

Okay, you bought a new device and unpacked it, or you're restructuring your existing setup, and want to check if you connected everything right, be it oldfashioned by cable, or more modern with Bluetooth. What's your song to try out? Over the years, these two tunes established themselves for connection tests and breaking in new gadgets:
Not your average morning radio stuff, TBH...

A post of Joy Division is always a special sign ... I hope you are allright Love' it Better hide the clothes line... Dunno, New Order, I'm feeling a bit ambiguous 'bout them. There's that huge, timeless, finest '80s dancefloor banger: And some other classics already mentioned (True Faith, just for the video!), but their later works are pretty redundant, predictable. You hear a song and know what the rest sounds like. I've got their 'Best Of', which I heard a lot in the late '90s, but then I forgot a little about it. Durin the lockdown in March, I dug it out again and was like 'huh, why did I like the album so much 20+ years ago? Its the same song over and over again!' How your perception changes over the years! Joy Division is a whole different animal. Can't listen to them every day...

I agree with you. New Order has some great tunes, which I really like, but their late 90s work isn't the most exciting.
Their early stuff is the best, when it was still relatively close what they did as part of Joy Division.

Agree, Joy Division to very early 90s was their prime time, the rest was just cycling around the same theme. Not bad mind you, but certainly not anywhere close to where they set the bar years before.

Not everyone's a David Bowie, willing and able to reinvent himself every odd year.
I think that is enough to cover over 45 years of David Bowie's work, from his first successful single to his last release, and how often his music and styles developed. By the way, 'Black Tie, White Noise' was the first CD album I ever bought

My favourite Bowie song. First heard it in the TV series Deutschland '83.
Along with this.

NDW, love it or loathe it... The former. Songs of the NDW got airplay in our (non German speaking) part of the country, and I quite like it.
This is the closing theme of a radio show I regularly listen to, which only plays 80s music for 2 hours (including rare longer remixes):
So we occasionally get German music thrown into the list.
