But Auto Unions had rear engines, unless it's a very early one

It's not an Auto Union, but close I think until five hours from now, if nobody has the right answer, I'll post the right answer and say who's gonna post the next one, if that's alright

Yes, 24 hours after posting your pic if it's not yet guessed you can reveal it and let someone else do the next.
Is it an early Mercedes?

It is, but now all you gotta do is guess which year and model I guess I'll post the rest of the details when the correct solution has come out (or when the 24h limit has come)

SSKL Avus 1932?

Post by Pascal Mikula on Feb 22, 2020 10:33:11 GMT
Correct! The SSKL Stromlinienwagen for 1932 was basically one of the first, if not THE FIRST experiments with streamlining bodywork. It took Manfred von Brauchitsch to his win at the 1932 Avusrennen, too. Your turn, Alberto.

Looks as though its based on an Esprit, whatever it is.

Nope, it's actually based on a VW ... adapted for using alcohol from sugar.

Looks as though its based on an Esprit, whatever it is. An Esprit mated with the back end of a Renault 17.

Yeah the designer got inspired by watching an Esprit that was standing on a traffic light and an R17 rammed it so hard from behind that they were mixed But is it really that hard? I expected some of our brazilian members to have a clue about it

Hold up, I've seen this one before.
Hofstetter Turbo?
Not a very Brazilian name, though ..

Indeed! Only 18 were sold, but the car became quite known in the 80s because the guy who created it brought the prototype to several Auto Motor shows and I even remember seeing it in a catalogue of world automobiles with selling price and all. Here's a bit more of history of this rare car: www.thepetrolstop.com/2014/03/hofstetter-turbo.html

No. It just looks like one, but it isn't. It is a special builder who made these cars street legal.

Those small wheels tell me it could be based on the Mini but that's all I can say without help from Google.
