This thread is for ISO drivers to show us what they drive in real life. I'll kick it off with my 2013 Volkswagen CC. I had owned a 2009 black CC before, but I was backed into by someone in a parking lot, and the collision involved enough parts to justify a write off Found this replacement the same week. Drives great and looks handsome in dark blue metallic One day I will own an Avanti just to annoy Coxon.

I have a special response for you, but it is before the watershed so I shall not repeat it.

This not mine as I did not have a pic of it at hand, but it looks exactly the same, color, M-pack, sunroof, everything: It's a 320i, 170HP which is not a huge amount but moves the car fine. I got 220 km/h plus in germany some years ago easily because it is very aerodynamic, and some months ago I swapped the final gear ratio from 3:6 to 4:1 from a 320Si and it made a huge difference as the engine really likes to rev high. It is very lively now and much quicker in shorter gears, and in 6th you can go the steepest uphill with still some margin to accelerate. Best upgrade I have done ever to a car.

Yep, same car still Turns 10 years old in december, but TBH I'm not willing to change it. I have had enough of new cars, they go in a direction I do not like at all and in fact whenever I ditch this one I will likely get an older one and restore it. I do about 8000 kms a year, so I don't really have many running costs and that allows me to have more a caprice than an utility car and my daily driving in the city is in motorbike anyway. I really hate all the technology they are adding to the cars, you can't even get them with manual gearboxes anymore.

My current car (and hopefully for a long time), a 2012 VW Polo 1.2 TSI with the 115 BHP engine, seen here on the day I bought it.
I was given an identical spec Polo as a hire car in 2015 and decided my next car was going to be just that. Despite the hire car having the steering wheel on Coxon's/the wrong side, the ergonomics felt exactly how I wanted them to be, and the 7-speed DSG is great. So when my Renault decided to spit out its oil in 2019 and this low mileage example appeared, it came my way.
Previous daily wheels were a Citroën Saxo 1.4 diesel, which I had for a year in 2010 until it almost literally fell apart, and subsequently a 1.2 Renault Twingo, which had quite a hard life.

Ahhh the Twingo. Me and my friends hated the design of it so much, one night we were drunk enough we decided to put money together and buy a 2nd hand one just to push it down a cliff. In the end we could not fulfill our dream not because of money, but because of environmental laws and getting warned by the police that would be wildly illegal. Oh well.

If it was the first generation Twingo, I can fully understand it. When I bought mine, which was the second generation so it at least looked like a car, I picked someone up at an airport and when walking towards the parking he asked me in his limited English which car we were looking for. "Twingo? Cars looks like bug. Also is too small for me."
He was probably slightly puzzled as to why I'd have a Twingo, when he'd seen the family garage previously being occupied by objects with a lot more sporting pedigree. At the time, I still owned 2 Talbot Sunbeams (a TI and a Lotus), and a 205 Rallye, having just got rid of 2 RX7's. They were not dailies though, and owning them didn't equal driving as they were usually in many bits.
My dad was slightly worse, I think he went on a crusade to complete the alphabet with cars he owned, with an Alfa and 5 Austins just to make sure the letter A was covered, and at least 2 Wartburgs on the other end. And 27 Opels.

205 Rally Yeah it was the first gen Twingo we wanted to kill, the 2nd one was indeed decent.

My 205 was the German version. No 1.3 on carbs, it had the 1.9 GTI engine. I really should have finished rebuilding that one, it looked a bit tatty so I wouldn't have had to treat it like a show queen.

Interesting, I didn't know such car existed. Being lighter than the 1-9 GTI thanks to the stripped equipment, it must have been blistering quick I guess. Did it come with 15 inch rims as the GTI or something smaller as in the 1.3 Rally?
The carbs though made the 1.3 so special when driving ...

It didn't have the stripped interior either. Mechanically it was a 205 GTI, looking like a Rallye but without its weight advantage.

I "daily" a Mazda RX-8. But actually I cycle to work most of the time as I live very close to it. I wouldn't have bought the RX-8 if that weren't the case

IIRC RX-8s are pretty cheap here in Germany, but I'm still damn jealous of you! If I can't ever have an Ur-Quattro for myself, my #2 car of choice would be an RX-8!

They are cheap because the engines usually break before 150 000 kilometres and requiring a full overhaul and the fuel economy would be befitting for a car with twice the power. I can only recommend buying one with the engine overhaul done and only if you don't intend to put lots of kilometers on it and can ideally work on it yourself because small stuff like shocks and other misc items also tend to break early and are expensive to fix in the shop. So the initial invest is small, but the running costs can spiral out of control quickly. It went okay for me so far. I had to replace the shocks (leaking), but got a set of good used ones for 100 Euros and installed them myself. I also had to replace the rear brake calipers (it's a 2004 and that was a long time ago, so OK) and now the brake master cylinder needs replacing. I did not want to buy used for this important component so the brake master has to be imported via a UK vendor (not available via Mazda Germany anymore) and still costs 150 Euros and will take four weeks to arrive If I actually needed the car every day I would already be screwed.
But driving this car quickly on a country road is amazing. The ride is still comfortable for me personally and it has this very quick and precise turn in, almost oversteering on corner entry before settling in a neutral state mid corner that is just fantastic and lets you leave a surprising amount of BMW 3 series in the country road dust

Im going to check this big lump out tomorrow. Anyone ever owned one? Full history and Road worthy Certificate included in the purchase. We need the Certificate to transfer into my name. If it didnt come with one I wouldnt bother but Im just a bit tempted to own one of these boats for a while. I dont know how to break it to my partner as I already have too many cars as it is.... 1973 BMW 2002 2 x 1981 BMW e21 (one parts car) Skoda Octavia wagon (work) 1996 Toyota Camry (Family transport when they are in town visiting from all over the country) Im hoping that this time i might start swapping cars every year or so rather than growing attached to them.

So the green e21 was supposed to be just for the 5 speed to pop into the 2002. But it was in good condition so I couldn't bare to sacrifice it. Thus the white one for the job. None of them could pull the skin off a rice pudding but they are great fun. They make driving slow feel fast.
