Ooofff I can understand some things like willing to ensure aero does not help dangerous pack racing and rear independent suspension is safer, but the rest just goes into skyrocketings costs even more due to more expensive parts and maintainance, plus finding the way to cheat the aero.

I'm kind of bummed about the center-locking lug nut decision too; there goes the fine art of gluing lugs on each wheel before the race

To me a part of the charm was the use of "old tech"; four-speed manual gearboxes, live axles, simple aero etc. It'll be interesting to see how it all goes and whether the crowds will love it. I don't know, bring back short tracks? And Tim Richmond if possible.
I think I'll fire up NR2003 again.

NR2003 won't work for me in W7, does it work in 10? Still have a pending upgrade in the computer but never find the proper moment to be some days off building it and transferring over all stuff.

It probably have to do with the Disk Prompt, as in it has to find a certain file on the Disk or on the comp, which I know Win7 doens't have, I assume they added it back into Win10. I'm sure, if you look around, someone will have found a work-around for it, like they've done for a couple of games that I play that has the old "prompt" to run.

I read this morning on Facebook that John Martin had passed away. Another of our USAC 73/74 drivers has left us.

RIP John Some years ago I heard a radio interview with him in a local station, he sounded like a genuine nice guy, always struggling with old equipment to be able to enjoy his passion for racing but always cheerful and positive.

Regardless of the stick he gets, he can be a very quick driver. You don't get 10 podiums for nothing in F1. He'd probably be much more successful than the previous ex F1 drivers who made the trip over.
But I think after yesterday he will probably be more interested in sportscars than anything.

Yeah, yesterday's incident is one of those to get a man thinking about changing jobs ... but not likely for high speed ovals on open wheelers.

It looks like he hit the barrier right where there was a cutout for a camera or timing equipment.
