I've finally found the Volvo's achilles heel: it does not turn in. At all. It just plows straight through. I don't think it will be an issue at Bathurst, but here it was painful. Also, it spins its tires very easily, so setting up gearing is difficult.
Anyway, fun race 1 with Richard. Got a bit rough near the end, but the last corner was mine, simple as.
Race 2 I flipped away on the kerb. Good night.

I didn't like this track at all and I feel that it doesn't suit the Volvo. Race 1 of at the first corner and straight to the pits for repairs, trundle around at the back. Race 2, battling over last position until I clipped a kerb and rolled, 3 more rolls from kerbs and that's enough. I'm really struggling this season with AMS, I can't find any pace.

Very bad race overall, a disastrous meeting if I ever saw one.
On race one I could've managed a 4th or a 5th on the grid but I kept making mistakes, then I hit someone at the start, luckily I was the one spinning and not him. Then I spun again twice and into a wall to end a terrible race with a DNF.
For race 2 I kept driving terribly, starting on 11th after everyone improved their times except me, that went slower. Then while fighting for points I rolled and the little consistency I could have had, disappeared.
BTW I didn't know the Audi has the acceleration of a bus XD

Well like Natxo said, the audi here was a bit slow, and hard to stop. I had huuuuge problems stopping in the first race, and my apologies if i did something to anyone, but i lost control various times, at least for a split second.
Then on race 2, i was massively lagged for a bit, specially the first lap, and that didn't help at all. A change in setup helped my consistency, but ultimately i couldnt keep up with some of the others with more fuel on board, and basically did what i could to not lose too many points.
Had some nice moments and fights, its always fun with these cars!

Very nice battles. In race 1 I didn't have enough time to put a clean lap. I was very cautious at the start. I saw the top 5 ahead fighting so I decided to be in a good position to capitalize if they lose momentum. Juha and Jundt found each other and I got 3rd place. I was having a great fight with Wilks for 2nd. In the end of the straight I went for the inside but I think he moved under braking to defend or I misjudged. Sorry mate. We both went off track and we dropped to 3rd and 4th. I got 3rd place when he lost momentum after the hairpin and had a good fight with Juha for the 2nd place. I saw an opportunity in last lap outbreaking him in the right hander before the straight. Very happy with 2nd place. Dave was far ahead and controlled his pace very well.
Race 2 got a better grid position but still very hard fight with Wilks. We were 3 wide under braking at the hairpin. I got it done taking the outside line. Some contact, lost my rear bumper there. I was following Miller close and I decided to keep 1s distance so he didn't have to use a defensive line and slow us both down. When Jundt overtook Juha I decided to push Miller and I had a good chance. It took 4 turns to get the overtake done, all side by side, no contact. Great fight!! After that it was his turn to push me. Dave's pace was incredible all laps in 1:09s, I couldn't make a single mistake. Very happy with the win. Congratulations to Miller and Jundt.
Thanks ISO
See you guys on Weekend!

Great racing last night, this track seemed to promote close racing. Race 1 - Had a good start and was up 4 positions by the end of the lap, but then for the second hairpin i messed up big time, locked the rears and spun out and rejoined last. Was passing cars quite easily until i caught up with Jacob (Who i think had had his own spin ) and had a great battle, the power of the Volvo out of the corners was too much, managed to get alongside in the final complex of the last lap, thought i'd given Jacob enough room but i guess not as he hit me, no hard feelings, that's touring car racing and i loved it! Great fun mate Race 2 - Good initial launch, but then i made one error and lost about 6 positions, passed a few cars, but then i couldn't clear Jonatan as quickly as i would like, his Hyundai could brake later and had better traction out of the hairpins. Made contact a few times (One of which he didn't like ) So i let him back through. Managed to get the move done and from then on it was hoping in vain to catch Ryan in front, but it wasn't going to happen. Could of been two much better results but for silly mistakes. Well done to the winners, great job by both of you. You need to share that Ford setup Thiago See you all at Bathurst or Lakeside.

Well, this event was just as difficult for the Hyundai in the races as I thought it would be. Practice: During practice I could get the car to handle fairly well, had to fine tune it a Little bit during the race evening as the gearing ended up being a bit off compared to others and I also changed the bumps and rebounds to get the car to ride the cerbs a Little better. But the most glaring fault with the car for this round I could do nothing about, the low amount of the Korean Stallions in the Engine bay… Qualifying 1: Surprisingly the first qualifying Went very well for myself, dragging the car into the 1,09's for the very first time and up into 4th place on the grid. Expected to be around 10th because of how fast many were. To be noted was that that, for sure, was the closest qualifying we've seen this season in the ASTC, really good work by everyone in both Q sessions. Race 1: Got a decent start but could do nothing about David in that Bimmer, he came flying as if he had been shot out of a cannon. Broke early for the first hairpin at Southern hairpin and got swamped and just narrowly avoided getting cleaned up by Natxo's Audi, sorry about the touch coming towards the exit of the turn, thought you'd run far wider. After Main Straight and Banana Bend I think I was sitting in 7th or 8th position at the back of a, as many cars, train battling for those places. I could just about keep up as long as I was allowed to get through the turns at a decent pace but as soon as anyone parked their car at the apex I was dead in the water. Lost out to Ryan fairly quickly after he dropped back along with a couple of others and I could nothing but run my consistent pace and hope for others to run into trouble, finally finishing in 7th a few seconds behind Ryan I think was the closest car in front of me. Congratulations Dave on your first win of the Championship (and overall in these Super Tourers?), great drive! Qualifying 2: Onto the second qualifying and it didn't go quite as well as the first one, was down about a tenth on my time from Q1, but was down 3 positions in 7th, again in a very close field. Race 2: Got another decent start but again I couldn't really find much of a leaway, got up the inside of Ryan at Southern Hairpin but down Main Straight and through Banana Bend he pulled ahead of me but I was then able to brake later into Northern Hairpin but despite an ok exit out of it, Ryan was able to pull past me through Sweeper. Spent a few laps running consistent laps until I was caught by Richard and as he said, he was faster but I was able to somehow hold on for a few laps Before he got past. What I was worried about at the kink was that I thought I'd get thrown over the kerbs had I not backed off a bit more when I realized what was about to happen there. Richard was graceful to let me by and then put a sweet move on me at the hairpin Before the Esses. Set about dropping back from Richard by a few tenths each lap but keeping the gap more, or less, constant to Ray and Alberto Jr behind me until I made a few mistakes and let them within striking distance. Spent a few laps being very worried of both of them down the straights, that Alfa is a rocket and the Bimmer isn't bad either. With about 4 laps to go I finally got my mojo back after those mistakes and was able to pull out a small gap to them but another 7th place was the best I could hope for with the sintelating pace at the front. Fantastic driving from everyone I had around me in this event and good fun battling for positions although it was a bit frustrating to be down so much on top speed and acceleration compared to most others. Looking forward to Bathurst, should be good fun and see you all there or at Lakeside for the next event in this Championship

Apparently it's just me, but I thought the driving at the front of the first of R1 was pretty poor. "Luckily" I dropped back and spectated some of the further chaos from behind. But I can do without it. The way it went, against speedy FWDs mainly, I think I can be content with my results
