I just read Stirling Moss has passed away this morning, aged 90, after a long illness. He'd already withdrawn from public life a two years ago.
Probably one of the best drivers never to win the world championship, and quick in other forms of motorsport too.
I've seen the great man drive once in my life, at Spa, and despite being into his 80s, the passion was still there. Obviously not at the same speeds as before, but that didn't matter. The legend was still out there, enjoying his racing.

Very sad news. We should not remember him just as one of the best to never win an F1 champ, but as one of the greatest racing drivers ever, and one of the sports' greatest ambassadeurs ever. His win in the 1955 Mille Miglia remains as the greatest motorsport achievement ever in my book. F1 champ or not, there was not one race in the period of 1958 until his Goodwood crash in '62 where Moss was not the driver all else wanted to beat.
RIP Stirling.

It's very sad news, again we lost a great human and a racing legend, but this man was so special over the others that sadly gone aswell, a real one off who can make you cry and laugh in just 1 min. a very pure man , with fantastic humor , a sort kind of James Hunt of the 50s the best quote i remember to date by Sir Stirling Moss;
In our days we used to chase girl after a Grandprix, today they thank Vodafone! XD 10 points!
we should do something tonight to honor him , a parade lap or whatever you guys can think of at the 91 Mexican Grandprix also a 1 year event should go to Sir moss, and a track and mod are now right here, and his car the 58Vanwall!
A true legend is gone but he and all the the others live forever in our simracing community by pressing a simple button and click RACE the machines they drove!
RIP old chap and go to rest in the place you loved best, with lots of BP motor oil!
