To all of you who are signed up for Indy, I am advancing an important rule of the race that we already had when we did it in 2018 in rfactor so that you have more time to prepare.
THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FUEL FOR THE RACE IS LIMITED TO 280 GALLONS / ~1060 litres (7 full or tanks, or your starting tank and 6 stops).
This means that a maximum fuel use of 1.38 gallons or 5.3 litres per lap is necessary to finish the race.
However, this limit is not as hard as for example with the Group C, so you won't be having to be constantly cutting off and saving at all parts of the track. Adjusting your setup with less wing and longer final ratio should suffice to meet the fuel requirement unless you are hard on it, trying to hotlap every time. This being a long 500 miles race, your priority should therefore be to pace yourself and get to the end, you will be racing your direct opponents in a more strategic way. We will likely see some quick people dramatically slowing down towards end of the race if they were too optimistic, and that will give many options for others to catch up.

Since we have had some people being disappointed about the lack of caution laps when under yellow, I'd like both to remind you that the fuel saving will make a quite open race (Slower drivers will be closer or even on the pace of the quicker ones because going quick will mean using more fuel) and that the electro-pacer system used in the real race was intended for the purpose of keeping the distance between cars. Here is the explanation of it by Jackie Stewart, watch it if you are interested and even if you don't like it and prefer not to race, be at least assured it was not an arbitrary choice we made:

Here is some info of interest for you all. Your pit spot is determined by your order in the grid, starting from the end of the pit lane and going backwards. So as in the picture below, pole is near the end of the pitlane, 2nd qualified right behind and so on. Be sure to know where it is, as you will have to calculate your braking point.
