1985 is nearly over:D. New chassis for Monaco- a track I hate.... I had a very pointy and agressive qualisetup. Couldn't get a clean lap in. Could've been a nice upset. Ended bad. 4 seconds off what was possible.
Race was okayish. At lap 56 the car took off and went flying over "the bump" in P8. Totaled after impact. I was aware of the ride height issues. Never happenend in testing with my setup-granted- I didn't test with sub 40 liters of fuel. So this one is on me. FUCK. So unnecessary.
Watching Coxon and hearing Hille also took off - oh well- what to say. Physics! Too bad guys - Hard to watch.
Gratz all finishers and Dave Miller.
Too bad for my teammate being unlucky with his powerplant.

That didn't go as planned.
The McLaren has excellent fuel consumption. In theory, the ideal car for this race. Unfortunately the race was in Imola, not in Theory.
My qualifying was a mess. 3 times I came accross slowly moving Italian cars, on the 4th I crashed all by myself. The only decent lap was over a second slower than it should have been.
I made up some places at the start, but lost touch with the leaders. I wasn't too far off the pace, I was just too far back to do anything and with no one to follow I was using plenty of fuel as well.
Halfway through the race, I finally found a pit crew which was wide awake. 14 seconds to change all tyres, I immediately closed the gap separating me from the pack ahead.
I promptly celebrated by speeding, the subsequent Drive Through throwing away the advantage my boys had gained me.
After that, I dropped off. Tim came back and I saved fuel to be able to put up a defence on full boost. Then he went airborne so all was quiet again and seventh place was safe. Coxon then took flying lessons and I rather undeservedly landed sixth place.
3rd race, 3rd points finish, but my pace was at times nowhere compared to the guys up front. I hope to do better at Monaco.
Well done to Dave and all other finishers.

I have got the same desktop error"this aplication has requested the Runtime..." Can I join the qualy? I believe you had this problem maybe because you didnt reduce the opponents detail from Full to High. As for my race, i did the perfect Senna impersonation of the turbo era, by getting pole, not stopping for tires, and going backwards in the race due to the high fuel use of he Lotus. I dont know if my strategy was the most correct, but with not much time to totally revamp the setup, i decided to run the hards and not stop. The start was good, but i think i was a bit too cautious with the fuel mid race, so i might had lost too much ground to Anders and his caravan behind him. At the end i had some fuel to make a late charge for third, but an uncooperative backmarker with his dirty air and totally umpredictable driving held me up at the end of the race. So in the end i had to settle for 4th. Congratulations Dave M for finally getting on top of the williams and to all the finishers.

I have got the same desktop error"this aplication has requested the Runtime..." Can I join the qualy? I believe you had this problem maybe because you didnt reduce the opponents detail from Full to High. I did it Richard, during the qualy session as Juha told me, in fact, I reduced all settings to high and max opponents view to 10. The problem was when I did the integrity check during the warm up, after the check there were four missing files . Supposedly, the game downloaded the files after the check, but when I started the game, the image of automobilista loaded normal, and then black screen for five seconds, and finally crashed to desktop. I did it again following step by step Jonatan's intructions without troubleshooting. I will do a completly clean installation to resolve all the problems, I hope Thanks for all, and so sorry about these issues

Enjoyed calling and watching this race. Some interesting strategies going on and thought we were in for a great battle for the win until Grant fell back but congratulations to Dave on the win and the rest of the podium finishers.
Monaco should be a good race and hopefully throws up a few shock results as it has always done in the past in the real-life race. Good fun with Jason and Alberto as well calling the race as always.

First off, great broadcast as always. Top notch My race.....Didn't start the best, missed a gear (Again) and dropped to 8th, then 9th after Juha took advantage of the back log. Slowly managed to pass a few guys and find clear air, but was soon stuck behind another car, then a backmarker who kept me behind for 3/4 of a lap . But anyway. More clear air, caught up with Wilks, had the pace and top end speed to pass him but his traction was so much better in the important areas. Decided to pit, then a 20 second pitstop (I'm falling out with these Italian mechanics more and more..). More chasing, more overtaking and stuck behind cars for a time. Some more interesting choices from backmarkers. Caught up to Wilks again and then it happened. I turned into Fiat G-55 Centauro. Up and away we went and then bang back on the tarmac, shattering my drivers spine Would have been fine as the flight and landing didn't damage the car, but i landed on the grass and slid into the wall. Another stop with the mechanics who by this point were eating pasta on the spare engine cover. Returned to the race and crawled home to the finish. Plus, had good pace and made the finish. Cons, still no points. Monaco awaits, a place where the driver makes the difference Well done to Dave, Grant and Anders. See you all at the next one.

so pit stop duration can vary between ~10s to ~20s despite just changing tires?

so pit stop duration can vary between ~10s to ~20s despite just changing tires? Yes, was like that in the season so we decided to replicate that too. Senna in one race had an 8 second stop, the next he had a 15 second. Pitstops wasn't as well drilled as today's F1 or even F1 from 10-15 years ago.

First off, I'm sorry to see that Ruben couldn't race this time as he was doing some blistering qually laps on the server a couple days before the event but I'm happy to have gotten a blooded tooth in these beasts and having practiced beforehand. Warm-up:Jumping in with 19 minutes to go before the race would start it was all about getting situated in the car, as was seen on the broadcast after the add-break when I spun coming out of the pits after a few tweaks to the car. I had a good base going though, so the tweaks, once the tires had heated up a little bit, worked a treat. The old girl was still off the pace compared to the more modern machinery but she was treating me well, no major quirks to get used to, just drives and delivers power in a very soothing manor. Race: Was very nervous heading into the race, first time really since the race at Mexican Grand Prix last year that I was that nervous heading into a race. Had a good start compared to those around me and jumped up past one of the Minardi's, my Osella teammate Luciano and Mike in one of the Zakspeeds. After Tosa I spent the rest of the opening lap trying to bring my Medium tires up to the 89-90 degrees of temeprature that I felt was optimal for me, I've found that once any tire goes over 93 I lose all grip in them, despite optimal temps supposing to be 99-100 I haven't been able to make tires work at that temp. Was sort of hanging onto the tail of the non-Moderni power-plants and the other Minardi of Bruno and felt like I was keeping him fairly honest. I think about 5-6 laps into the race though, he got a bit too agressive on the loud-pedal and span off coming out of Rivazza I ended up in a bit of a no-mans land for a couple of laps before Mike managed to get past Tomáš Minardi and it only took Mike another two laps to get up to my rear wing so down the run from Bassa to Tosa through Tamburello he easily flew past and pulled about a second up the hill. From then on it was a case of keeping a decent pace up, relatively of course, and looking after the car. Had looked after the engine from lap one, changing around 10 000 to 10 250 RPM saving the engine as much as possible, knowing that it was liable to turn into a barbeque if I pushed it too hard. Apologies to Richard C and the Ferrari team, I had two borbles ahead of him, once on the first lapping when I locked up going into Aqua Minerali and had to scramble across the chicane just trying to hold onto the car to begin with and then being able to move out of the way. Was so happy to see the finishing line. I really enjoyed driving the Osella and being able to drive with a completely different mindset to how it was ever possible to drive the '91 cars or any of the faster machines in this field. Only mistake I can say that I did was filling up waaaaaaay too much fuel before the race, had a good 25 litres left in the tank by the finish, would have still been around 15 litres had I been forced to run the full distance... Also was able to do the whole race without stopping for tires on the Medium compounds, shows how nice the car is (possibly slow) when, with my driving style, the tires could still hold up for the distance travelled hehe. Congratulations to Dave for a stirring drive, Grant for a clever drive to 2nd and to Anders for the consistent drive to finish on the podium for a third time in a row. Also congratulations to everyone for finishing, looks like most of you are finding the limit for how far you can push the engines, chassis and tires too before they go pop. I'm hoping I may get another late call up for Monaco but we'll simply have to wait and see if my drive to finish 14th in the Osella has turned any team-owners heads my way if they need a replacement
