its going to be tight for me on sunday. in the process of buying a house, and final inspection takes priority if all goes well, i should make it back on time for the whole event. worst case, i should be able to make race 2. if the field is full and someone needs a car (doubt that will be the case) then certainly let them have mine, else, i will do my best to make it. dave

A real bad event for me this one. The car was eating its tyres around here and starting the first race on worn tyres (80% fronts) didn't help. I managed to take 3rd in the drivers standing Congratulations to Austin on winning the championship. Thanks to Richard for organising things.

I just want to add a special thanks to Jonatan, he really helped me out by stepping up to host races when I couldn’t. So thanks mate 👍🏻

I'm always happy to help as you know Richard, but you're welcome As for my event, had a good Race1 going but I just couldn't find my way past Yves. I was waiting for the tires to wear but saw that Steve got free of the cars behind to decided that it was my time to try and make my way to the podium. Sadly, once Yves made the misstake I needed, I read it wrong, got held up and Steve got up my inside going to T3. I tried to leave room but I suspect I wasn't able to leave enough room, got nudged in the left rear and the car swapped ends on me when the rear right got onto the dirt. Thankfully could get going with a big gap behind so just drove to survive with flat spotted tires to finish R1 in 5th place. Race 2 started and I was half asleep. I was able to hold off Yves though who were looking around my outside by nudging my team-mate David forward going through T2. For a few laps it was a processional until Yves, Richard and Austin felt that it was time to get a move on. Was nudged here and there, had a close call when Yves tried for a gap that wasn't quite there but was able to hold it thanks for the FWD nature of these Copa cars. After another couple of laps me and David was finally able to make out way past Jason and Adam and we were now behind David who were very slow compared to us, and as he said, eating his tires at a crazy rate. I tried to let David to the work and he had it for a moment but then got passed into T1 and next lap he tried again and ran wide so I took my opportunity and ran around his outside going through T3, some close but very fair racing from the both of us, despite me giving him a few nudges here and there when the train was checking up more than anticipated. After having gotten by David it took me another couple of laps I think before I was able to get up the inside of David Sabre coming out of T2 with my better tires, was able to hold my position going around the outside of T3 for an inside run through T4 and then went around the outside of T5 and were just able to keep the overlap, sadly David I think understeered so we made contact but as I was there rightfully I decided to take the position and run with it. Was able to gap the field as David continued to try to hold on to a Podium finish so I could go for a consistent run to the remaining 7-8 laps until the end and take my 2nd win of the season to just about snatch 2nd in the championship ahead of David, didn't think I'd be in with a shot at it but it worked out. It was some really close racing in R2, some bumper-car-like action at times, but from my position it was all really good fun, maybe because I'm just to doorhandle to doorhandle racing, literally, from RL hehe. Thanks everyone for taking part in the championship and I hope you all had good fun doing so! Will try to put a small highlights, or just a simple onboard, of the 2nd Race from my point of view, we'll see what time allows

Boys,
sorry for bailing out yesterday night..
I had a small situation at home, trying to solve it during warmup time, then rushed to start the race, forgot the tyres, my wife yelling at me of being irrational, I needed another 5 mins of warmup to close down everything, thats why I asked for restart.. but I was pretty messed all the evening..
After practice period I realised that those were not qualies and from that point my mind was everywhere but not on the race.. I moved before I did something stupid..
Too bad I like night races, but my pace was a disaster here, dont know why, just couldnt find any mojo...
Congratulations to winner, champions and big thanks for organising and keep this champ active!
see you soon

I didn't quite have the speed in the top end, think I was running the wing too high (and some other things) but it definitely kept me in it through the windy bits. Race 1 was a blast with about 5 of us all bunched up for a long time. Lot of close, fun racing. Race 2...apologies for the bit of slop on my end. I am not sure who, but I know I drove down on 2 or 3 different cars at one point in some right hand turns and a bit of bumping occurred. I was having issues seeing things on the right hand side of the car (need to turn my spotter on for this type of racing). I eventually backed off, and am glad I didn't cause anyone to spin or crash! Got caught out a few times by those braking a bit harder than I expected in some places, sorry for those jolts to the rear of whoever that was as well. Overall, really fun, and it's been a great series that I've enjoyed even though I never really found a fast pace in these FWDs. Thanks to Richard, and to Jonatan for keeping this series alive. And congrats to Austin on the championship, and others on the podium. Top 5 for me, and after some of the troubles I had, and the level of competition here, I can certainly live with that. Eagerly awaiting the next series here at ISO! (*cough, Brazilian Stock Cars, please!, *cough) Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be a blast, and I'm definitely in!
