I don't know if this is the thread, I've got some doubts in my firts try in ovals. In the chassis configuration menu, I must choose Speedway (1.5-2 miles) or Superspeedway (>2 miles)? I know the track is 2 miles, only I want to know if there is a significant difference If you are driving on the server then the sim will choose the correct chassis config automatically. It doesn't matter what you select the sim will select the correct chassis to avoid any cheating.

A tip for novice drivers is to turn on the virtual mirrors which will appear at the top of the screen, it makes it much easier to see other cars.
In your .plr file set virtual mirror= "1"

Hi! I don't know if this is the thread, I've got some doubts in my firts try in ovals. In the chassis configuration menu, I must choose Speedway (1.5-2 miles) or Superspeedway (>2 miles)? I know the track is 2 miles, only I want to know if there is a significant difference And as a rookie in an oval any advice in the setup would be welcome (wings, tire pressure,height...) I am very lost, and with the minimun boost pressure and high gears my engine overheats easily. Thanks in advance and I will try to do my best in my first race with these amazing cars I will try to provide a safe stable base setup later in the week. The two most important things you need to know in an oval are: About your car: Don't try to go fast until the car is prepared to go fast (Setup and correct tire temps). If you force it, you will crash. About the other cars: Be very aware of all other cars around you, and never divebomb on corner entry to overtake. On road courses it is common etiquette to concede position when the other car is past half your car, in ovals if the overtaking car is already committed, don't shut the door or you will both crash.

In your .plr file set virtual mirror= "1" Everyone should have these on regardless of series or experience. Just for playing sissies pretending to drive races. True hardcore simracers aiming at the fullest of immersion don't need mirrors, because you wouldn't see anything at all in these darn tiny thingies anyways due to vibrations and stuff...
Just joking, don't listen to me! Anything that helps being aware about what's happening around yourself is a plus and helps making friends around the track! BTW, what happened to that guy who disagreed about peeps using autoclutch and paddleshift?
For getting started with setups, someone posted a helpful graphic with a guide describing which screw to turn for which problem. And I'd begin with higher wings and then lower click by click as the confidence builts up.
