That was Diepholz then.
Surprisingly fun race. Saved enough fuel in the first half to go for it in second half. Reeled in Juha first of all, but when it was time to make my move, all hell broke out on the back straight. A Lancia on its roof, a 930 spinning, Juha taking evading action, an M1 fishtailing out of control (I thought), then three of us gunned for the same piece of track, and we bounced into each other, but without anyone spinning! A part of the commotion was because of the track layout there, we were all funneled to the same spot. In the end, Juha didn't have the fuel to keep up. I set my sight on 3rd, but Jaques just had enough even though he lost 10 seconds in the last 4 laps.
Did not miss a single chicane, a minor miracle!
Jundt is on a roll in this championship, well done sir!

Mother Mary thank the Lord its over. Dunno why I asked for a car in the first place, but that was probably because my usual strategy for things I perhaps like but maybe not so much did not work my way this time (set yourself a date, and if the item in question isn't gone by then, grab it. To bad there was a M1 left...).
But in the end, it turned out better than expected, probably thanks to a last minute setup change. It didn't really make the car faster, quite the opposite, but it helped making the car more stable on fast direction changes. It took me quite a while to get up to my speed in Q, had some serious trouble getting into the 1.02s, and that was not due to traffic. But eventually, I got there, 23rd, a bit short of what I did before with the car, but well clear of a good bunch of competitors, with a sizable gap to the guys I knew I wouldn't be able to play with. Warm up lap was a bit of a disaster, when the flag fell, I was already down two positions, yikes! First laps were a bit confusing with a lot of cars all over the place. Got a bit forward, went a bit backwards, established somewhere around 21st position, let David by when I missed on of the chicanes, got that position back when he had an incident when being lapped, had someone bump my left rear braking into the hairpin (a little unnecessary from my seat, was already as far to the right as to be out of traffic), then Kayo bumped my right rear, when I decided in the last second to miss out one of the chicanes when I saw in my mirrors someone still positioned himself for a pass when I already on the approach through the tire barriers. That one put me a bit off rhythm and Kayo, the only competitor left in my league could quickly open up a gap of 7 seconds, when I let that train of faster cars through, trying to regain my rhythm. A few laps later, I saw Kayo facing the wrong direction, and that was basically my race. From there, I was all on my own, to fast for the cars behind me, to slow for the cars ahead of me, so all left to do was stay out of the way of faster cars and roll it home. Not that easy, some guys are a bit to eager through the chicanes, forcing their ways through. I know, it can be mega frustrating to be stuck behind another car, but seriously, I'm not enarmoured being forced to go around the other side of the tire barrier at the last second. What else? 10 litres of unneccessary fuel, had no idea how many laps I'd be down, was a bit surprised to sometimes really have to search the goalposts through the chicanes in traffic (doesn't happen when you're mostly alone on the server, race finished mostly unscathed. happy its over, not completely unsatisfied, but not really happy about my performance. Good news: from now on, its only proper racetracks, and not just such a ... caricature.

What a race! It was like driving on I-465 around Indianapolis out there today!
I knew I didn't have the outright best car today in Group B but I felt good about the balance for the most part. I was lucky to get just enough clear track to put in a couple good times and start P4. The start was wild and ended up in the lead for the first part of the race. I was happy with my pace and was just hoping not to do anything stupid and throw it away. However, life had other plans and I spun coming out of the back stretch chicane and was passed by Brad and Mike. From there I put my head down and tried to see what I could get back but not trying to push the car too hard lest I clobber a chicane. I worked down the time to Mike for P2 and went by as he locked up into T1. At this point I tried to just keep on doing what I was doing, trying not to die. There were a couple scary moments with some lapping Group C cars but I was happy with the pace. I was closing in on Brad when I hit a chicane or spun out or something, I can't remember. I lost some time but kept moving. I was also one of the cars in the coming together that sent Jonathan flying, so I'm sorry about that one. By the end of the race Mike was closing in and I was just trying not to run into the tires. Somewhere in the final 20 laps Mike and I have a decent fight into the hairpin and I held him off for another couple laps. On the last lap he made a move to my inside coming out of the final chicane to the line and I cross just ahead by the luck of my Irish ancestors. All that for my first podium with ISO.
Congrats to Brad on the win and Mike on the P3! I'm having a blast driving these GT cars. The track was a hectic as all can be and I loved every second of it.

Jundt is on a roll in this championship, well done sir! There are a few contributing factors in my opinion: - I am used to endurance(well, to be honest, this was a sprint) racing in sportscars, so patience is important - Driving strategically, especially here, either you're limited by rules or by strategy, to make the race(fuel-wise). Do you push early, try to get a big lead, do you basically always go along the average usage you need to stay within or do you play it more conservatively and build a small fuel margin to attack near the end? - Traffic management, basically planning lapping moves in your head and plan accordingly. If you get stuck behind a slower car, lift off as you can't go faster anyway and save fuel - Setup options aren't that wide which benfits me - The front's basically all driving the same car so we're even there(bar the works 956 and the Lancias maybe) No surprise I enjoy this a lot... I streamed my race and have to admit I had to cut the chicane on S/F 2-3 times, but I always lifted to give back the time gained. Had some understeer or the car snapped on me trying to navigate the tyre stacks.

Today's race for me: Absolutely disappointing I could have gotten into P2 for Qualifying, but there was too much traffic. Then had an accident when driving on p5. That damage made the car a lot uncontrolable (sorry to those who had to suffer from this), and after struggling 30 laps the car gave up and I left the race. Anyway, see you in USAC 78. Let's see if I don't crash... I'm sorry Alberto Iquino ... I missed the braking point a little bit and then the car doesn't hold anymore ... it feels horrible to see that it will crash and have nothing to do. Race for Lancia to forget. The car was very fast but mistakes put everything to waste.

Was actually excited for this race as I didnt need to worry about anything except driving for once. But what a mess it turned out to be! After a pretty good first few turns, got punted off of the yellow tarmac on the first lap by a blueish green 956, and into last place. Almost made it back to the pack a couple times but the bizarre nature of this track kept getting in the way , got caught out by a couple mistakes, and had a few dumb ones all by myself!! Was real easy to miscommunicate out there too, sry about a few resulting tangles with others. ...and congrats to Jundt, Wilmer, Jaques

It really doesn't matter at all, but if you learn from this kind of experience it may help you in other races or series

This was an extremely difficult place to be a backmarker and trying to let lappers by. Had an enjoyable fight with David Sabre for a portion of the race, thanks for the fun, although it looked like you were getting a little flustered with me trying to stay ahead in my, on the straights, slower Porsch hehe. Ended up semi-taking a red car out during a lose moment in the final chicane, sincere appologies for that. Apart from a set of divebombs by lappers, I think that part went allright on my end. Hoping for a clearner race with less divebombs during lappings being done when we get to Brands next time out in this series
