#8, #11 and #29 are now available as one-off entries. If the full time drivers tied to these cars confirm before anyone else claims them, they will keep their drive for Sunday. bump

I'm going to withdraw, ran out of time to practice and don't want to end up ruining someone else's race.

Pocono is my worst enemy. Not in 73's, 74's 88's or now have I had a clean finish here. This time, with no proper preparation, I was just slow, stuck in no-mans-land, lost concentration, crashed. It sucks.

Engine failure. A couple of over revs early in the race could have been the problem or maybe when I backed it into the wall . I was hoping for a top ten finish but nevermind. It was fun at the beginning running with the fast guys.

140 laps in, the engine left me. Up until then, I already made it up to 9th position, which was less a matter of speed than staying alive. But it could have held up the remaining 50 or so laps, but maybe I allowed it to run a bit to hot, as I considered myself to be safe on fuel and went with a click more boost for most of the distance. Also, I probably ran the wrong setup, I came up with something that was a bit more willing to turn in on T1 & T2, yesterday, but today, the car was horribly pushing tonight. But could also have been the track changed over night, as my Q setup didn't work quite as intended, as well. What probably didn't help either was me having practically practiced all alone the whole week, so I had no idea what the car would be like in traffic. It was very hot and sticky, and there's soccer EC going on here, that interfered a bit with my preparations as well, and I was kind of uprepared for the lenght of the race. 25 laps or so in I did some quick maths and realised the race will be close to 3 hours - and no water bottle near me... I had a pretty decent start and some fun battles early on, I could keep up as long as the field wasn't spread out, but from there, it quickly became lonely. I had some luck early on, when I was side to side to side with Alan Santo. I relied on the spotter who told me, my right side was clear, so I let the car run wide. But he was still there, that caused some damage to my right rear suspension, but luckily didn't affect the handling. Also, the very moment I pitted for the first time, a yellow was thrown, I think I just made it out of the pits before the safety car left. Phew! When Angel May spun off, I expected a another yellow and turned into the pits two laps earlier than planned, that put me a bit of my schedule. Around lap 70, my concentration waned and I brushed the wall in T2. Else I was doing my thing, racing, pitting, trying to stay out of the way of faster cars, everything else I could potentially have raced was already gone or had become faster over the distance. Exiting T2 on lap 140, I had the impression something was feeling a bit odd on acceleration, but I considered it a tire issue. But going out of T1 the next time, the last thing I heard was a popping sound and that was the end of the race.
Let's see, superspeedway config seems to work for me, I might come back at Ontario!

Man, that was a fun one. Didn't qualify well but that was okay. I made my way through the field and was running 10 by the time of the first pit stop. At the end of the second stint I spun and lost my rear wing and spent a load of time getting things repaired. At the end of that stint I had made back a decent amount of the time lost. In all of that I accidentally knocked my shifter after getting a drink of water and over revved the engine. Even though I was still good for the moment I knew the engine wasn't gonna last long because I heard a rattle progressively get worse throughout the run. I'm still happy that I had finished as many laps as I did and made the moves that I did. Definite improvement over what happened at Indianapolis and hopefully I will have more of a handle on this car come Ontario and I can hopefully be more of a threat.
Congrats to David Jaques on the win and to Jason White for making it so close after 500 miles.

Focus in these long races is a struggle at times, especially when I get alone on track. But, seeing that many others seemed to suffer similar issues with it yesterday, I don't feel quite as bad. Was having a decent run in a car that simply wasn't up to speed. From way back near the rear to P8-P10 region nearing the 100 lap marker, I was pretty happy with it and feeling fairly comfortable to finish. Though, I'm not quite sure I was saving enough fuel (again) and I was having to use more boost than I wanted just to keep up with others, so not sure the engine would have lasted either. I wasn't being super hard on it, but the engine note had already changed and it was feeling a bit down on power at times, so, Idk. Lapse in concentration and I bounced it off the wall, tore off the rear wing. Limped back to the pits, but felt I was going to be a hazard after that (even harder to keep concentration) so DNF it was. Was fun running with Jules and a few other cars, trying to mostly work together to get some more speed out of the cars. It worked out well and I was glad to be able to find cars that would work with me rather than fight at every corner like it was the last lap. Looking forward to watching the broadcast later today, and congrats to David on the win, and the rest of the podium...and anyone else that managed to finish! Thanks, as always, ISO, for doing what you do to make these races happen. It might be frustrating at times, but it's always a good Sunday when I get to race around these parts ...and on to the next one.

After 500 miles, only 0.366 seconds back. Disappointing on the one hand, but on the other hand, I gave it everything I had those final 20 laps. The tires just weren't there near the end. Crossed the line with 0.1 gallons left, so I had exactly the amount I needed to finish. Still need to work on my pit exits, but Adam's misfortune shows what can happen if you overstress the engine on the exit, so there's the counterargument. Thank you Jonatan and Dave for an excellent broadcast. You guys both do great work. Shout out to Michael Drechsler for giving the Sugai Fox more TV time than it ever had in real life

[...] Shout out to Michael Drechsler for giving the Sugai Fox more TV time than it ever had in real life Thank you! Was a tough one being all alone for most of the race, but after that involuntarily stunt at the Indy TT, I owed the car its race. And its evident Jonathan really loves that OSB panel bomber!
But I'll definitely try to get my hands on something more competitive for the California 500!
BTW, coming back to the excellent broadcast, I could double stint outside and triple stint inside tires, though towards the end of the inside tires life, it really got hairy.

Lovely track. Finally I thought I'd found a reliable setup. Not fast still, but good enough to stay alive. However, after a move I now surely regret by attempting to try an overtake move from outside on Drechsler. Move in itself was precise and Michael kept his line on the inside till the end of turn although as he mentioned above, his spotter told him it was clear when we were side by side. From this crash I felt losing around 10 to 15km straight line speed.
Then came the YF, right after my pit stop. This, plus damage left me impatient so eventually had gone too greedy on T2 and spun, crashed and brought back to pits.
Actually, I'd say trying to return after this was the big mistake here. Suspension was affected so even taking care the car spun off again on T3. So ESC and retire as fast as I could ended a race I'd love to be part of for longer period.
