Regarding the speeding the pits, it's unfortunate yes, the game does tell you the speed limit as you enter the pits, and it tells you just after the chicane.
But ultimately the buck stops with me, I am the lead on these projects and I should have caught it so apologies to all that were affected.

Sorry to anyone I annoyed The Osella was even slower than expected Had some trouble with the fuel consumption (a serious one) and that's why I was so slow at the race, but I could not be any faster with this car. Anyway, it was somewhat fun to try to get this car into a decent position (but for the Osella 17th is no that bad), but I struggled with the car until its end. Thank you very much for letting me participate, and we'll see if can get a car for the rest of the season

Pff.. what a race... terrible qualifying and when i was doing the warm up lap... force feedback wasn't working, so i started in the pits...
A couple of spins, a couple of off track excursions..
And worked my way up to 9th (i think)...

Oh what a great weekend! First race here, great car, lots of tradition and history, and it's such a beautiful car! I'd like to thank Pagiola for helping me know his previous car, and Michael Drechsler for offering me a great setup, but I already had a good one and had trained with it, so I couldn't check that or readapt.
I could get a better position on grid, but my 32s didn't come as I expected. So starting in 20th was a good beginning, no incidents in the back, everybody waiting for the right moment to pass, really a great start in the back. But then after some laps I tried to pass Iquino and heated my tyres, spinning later to a crash. No front wing, pit stop, and an unexpected drive through as I thought we'd race in 1986 rules for the pits as well. Anyway, it didn't affect me so much because I didn't have the pace to do anything different. And my Motore Moderno was too modern to finish the event.
Yesterday I was able to drive it for 42 laps. Today 50 almost 51. Gotta talk to the Italian friends if they may accept my sponsors' offer hahahahahaha
Though I'm also trying to offer a farm in Brazil to a British gentleman, named Bernie, to see if he accepts me in his team as well lol.
Great experience overall. I'm just wondering how the left tyres will toast in the Osterreichring. Gee these compounds! hehe
Have a wonderful week everyone!

I didn't get enough qualifying testing during the week and therefore 14th on the grid was where I started. It could have been a little bit higher but not much. A great start to the race and I was in 9th. Then I managed to sneak into 8th and then Richard and Vadim were out and I was in 6th place at the start of lap 4 . I expected the faster cars to come back and they did as I dropped back to about 9th before the pitstops. Had some battles with a few cars (so many I can't remember them all). Towards the end I was in 7th when Brian Janik's engine let go , 6th place for me . I tried to put a bit of pressure on John Thim who was 5th by going as fast as I could only for me to spin and lose my front wing. A steady trip to the pits for a new wing and I was back out in 6th place which is where I finished. 1 point for Team Tyrrell . Thank for the broadcast I'll watch it later or tomorrow . Well done Gabriele. Richard W and Juha .

Congrats to Gab, great race that he did, faultless Performance. As for my own race, i can't say the same. I fluffed the start big time, and then i had a few mistakes trying to get back the order. My car was a dream, i only needed one stop and the car was brilliant with worn tires. I reckon i could have got the win, even if everybody was running, but i'll take the points of ths second place any day. Congrats to all the Finishers

Hard to swallow race but it’s sim racing. Felt had the race under control opting for a 2 stopper. Mistakes happen and received a drive through like most. Ruined the strategy and after that I made my own grave by over driving. Received a bit to much damage from a lapped car hitting my rear end. Not sure what happened there but again... happens. Damage made the car undrivable Well done Gabrielle! Good job man! Also well done Richard! Going to be hard to catch you with your race craft in championship but I’m going to try my best

I wasn't looking forward to this race. The Hungaroring in its current shape is horrible enough, but this added chicane.. why? Maybe this track has straights when driven with Eastern Block vehicles, but it obviously wasn't designed with F1 in mind.
Combine that with the McLaren's tendency, sorry, addiction, to understeer, and the fact I can't qualify properly, I wasn't expecting much. Come qualifying, the bad forecast confirms itself. I stay 2 seconds and 5 places off my PB. Not promising.
The start then, usually my strongpoint, but I chose this place to make a bad one. Lots of wheelspin and clutch mean I made no progress. No luck either in trying to squeeze the McLaren through a series of narrow gaps. I remained out of the top 10 and even dropped to 14th. Points were very far away by now.
After Coxon and Vadim's elimination, and Wilks' pirouette, that became 11th. Points were needed, so I went for it. After overtaking a train of fighting cars I soon ended up in 6th, despite Wilks moving up through the field and passing easily. My next target was Anders Nilsson, but he proved very hard to overtake. Ultimately a collision sent me off into the gravel, dropping me to 8th.
I set back to work, trying to catch David Sabre and John Thim. Lap 24, I was in 7th. Lap 25, back in the points. Both overtakes took me multiple corners to stick, one of them starting at the final hairpin, only for the matter to be settled at the end of the first sector, 6 corners later. Very clean though, always a pleasure to have duels like that.
When I finally caught Anders, he let me through. That 5th place became a 4th after Bruno Pagiola's retirement, and 3rd when Grant Riddall dropped out.
By then I'd already been lapped by Gabriele, who was on a different planet, but I was happy with a very unexpected 3rd place. I made sure the gap between me and Anders remained constant, all while saving the engine, and collected the most unexpected 4 points of the year.

I made a mistake 3 times when changing gears, taking the engine in very high revolutions, it simply broke at the end of the straight, without exploding.

mistakes happen, you did what you could by alerting the rest with chat message. nothing more that could be done, nothing more anyone is asking for. could have just left it at that...
in my/our defense the briefing is in BOLD PRINT. don't think its fair to try to pass any blame to those impacted. expectation of seeing a message contrary to briefing while in the heat of a race/entering a tight pit on worn tires not realistic. already had enough for the day.

I only brought it up due to the messages you sent to the wrong admin in error. I came to try and clear any misunderstandings, but that wasn't achieved.
I guess you confirmed that when you chose to tell me to **** myself as you left.
Again, i take full responsibility for any penalties due to speeding in the pits, yeah maybe i shouldn't have said "In my defence" it obviously came across wrong. So sorry for that misunderstanding. I was preparing myself to correct the wrongs, work out the time lost and remove it from the total time and then adjust the race results, but everyone retired or withdrew. So that option was removed. But to clarify, I am not doing this hobby for the good of my health, i do it because i enjoy it. But it get's tiresome when certain things are said to you.

Oh well, what an event again...
...started out pretty well, heading towards the qualifying, I tested what I cooked up yesterday, and it worked fine, well into the 1:34 with the potential for a 1:33, right out of the box. Did some adjustments to my clutch setup, and that worked okay, too...
...fast forward to the Q session and I couldn't get a single clean lap out! 2 1/2 seconds off the potential of the car and qualifying second to last.
Next bad surprise at the start, I stopped the car and it rolled backwards. There went my plan and my work on the clutch, a rather lackluster start, a decent run through the first few corners gaining some positions and then that darned thing ran right off track and I was last. Meh...
I could close up the gap quickly, the car ran actually pretty fine as long as you kept the tire temps in synch, and the slow end of the field was surprisingly competitive this time around. I think it was the first time this year I was really in a multicar battle for position, where the various cars were on a similar level. I had maxed out the wings which hurt me along the straights, but I was definitely fastest cars of the group around corners. And with other people having their litttle problems, I could make up a few positions. Until I spun out again. Oh well, everything from the beginning, again I got back on track to fetch the end of the train and could quickly make up time, but with full tanks, the handling was really difficult, and I had another off that really cost precious time, so after things settled, I was about half a minute behind Luciano and Kayo, I could barely make up some time, and that little time I gained, I quickly lost when being lapped. Not so grand. About L22, my tires clearly crept out of balance, so I went for a pitstop in L25. That stop was relatively good for the Minardi crew, I had a clear track behind me when I left the pits, and a drive through. WTF? I immediately came back to serve it, not knowing what for, when I realised on reentering the pits I obviously was to quick the last time around. 80 instead of 300, that was very unexpected...
That penalty threw me completely out of my rhythm, instead of being able to close the gap to the cars ahead of me, I was a lap down now and having problems getting back on track again. I was so demoralised, I seriously thought about parking the car. Expecting the engine to seize sooner or later anyways, I didn't rev the engine to high, but also didn't care to much for engine life now. If it blows up, it'll blow up, and I wouldn't care much. Fuel didn't seem a problem, so I went with a generous setting of the boost button. With fuel burning off, the handling improved, and as long as I carefully managed tire temps, I had the best handling car of the season. And with other people dropping out, I slowly crept up a few positions. I made a ... third visit to the pit lane on L50, that stop was awful at 21 seconds - I really should buy them a better coffee machine! I soldiered on, used full boost for a while, but checking revs I dialed back again, went up to 11th position at some point, then I had a stupid incident when I slowly got a bit tired and lost my front wing. I could make it safely back to the pits and thanks to being a lap ahead of the next car, I could maintain my position and finish in 11th position. The worst part? Two carbecues in the last lap. That could have been a top 10 position. But I made way to much errors this time to have deserved it. I certainly had my fun early on racing competitive in a group, my best result of the season and finally two cars behind me, finally had a well balanced car, but I'm still not really satisfied. It just wasn't a good race of me, way to many errors, way to inconsistent. At least, I got that track behind me. The Hungaroring is just an exhausting nuisance where you are always in the wrong spot with more than a car on track. On to Austria!

Love this circuit!! Race pace was pretty awesome compared to what I was expecting. I hoped to be a surprise fighter, but an early tentative spin rocked my confidence a bit and put me in a position which I struggled to recover from all day. In fairness, without the spin I would have been struggling to hang on to a position, so either way... 3/4 distance, Inherited 6th, and started saving fuel for a few laps while preparing a plan to chase down J Thim for 5th at the end. Unfortunately BlownMotorWoes intervened, so I'll never know if that was possible. Congrats to Martin Lacina and team for this version of the Hungaroring despite the pit speed gremlin (at least nobody fell thru the pitlane at this version!) F1 stands for Frustration for all but 1. Sorry to see so much after this round Somewhat Happy for anyone in a weaker car all season that may have benefitted from it

Great race!
Loving those fights. Really tough and fair racing with Sabre, Juha, Brian & Jaques. Had some small hiccups through sorry to Juha for my driftblock into the chicane. Also had a miss understanding with Anders. Got a blue flag for Grant and was getting out of the way, we wasn't really racing so conseeding the place was inevitable.
Beeing 6th Brian was quicker than me behind. Stuck with my plan before the race to NOT stop for tires. Had to fuel save so much anyways. Idea encouraged by the unfortunate pitlane speedlimit, to bad for those caught out. :-(
Was lucky but strateghy proved to be the right for this car. Sadly Brian retired I was enjoying the distant pressure, keeping me on my toes.
Congrats to all survivors.

Visited this venue a couple of years ago during Vespa World Days with my girlfriend, this track in real life looks like a rescaled go-kart track.. but I really love it, always felt well tuned onto. For this race BMW provided Benetton on new spec race engine, a great help indeed in driveability. In free practice session before official qualify i noticed that my G25 gearshift worked so bad with LeoBodnar device, 3rd and 5th gear struggled too much to engage in, so I lost many time to reset calibration,a bit annoying. Qualified 4th , 1 second above my PB, not too bad, second row is a good spot to start. At the start Grant made it absolutely brilliant, found traction perfectly , meanwhile Lotuses and many others struggled. Good thing i' ve tested it in free practice and warmup session even to test how resetted gearshift worked. Grant held a pace on early stage i couldn' t match, felt a bit unsecure and unconfortable to push, lapping 1 second slower than in practice. Tim Hille brilliantly recovered from the back, passing the mighty Bruno Pagiola on his new Red5 Fw11, and caught me after a dozen of laps. Tim passed me at the end of the straight in a wonderful manouver , nothing i could do to avoid it, well done mate! The unexpected: Tim after some lap collided (oh nooo!) and I was 2nd again . Car became easier to drive, no more massive understeer , still improving my pace. Tire wear benefit from my early cautious driving, so I decided to go on changing from 2 stops strategy to 1 only pit. Grant went to pits aaaand... got thru penalty.. uuuhh.. I am 1st! Menaged quite well tire wear till the half race, but i was stubborn to go on with this tires and lost a bit of time lapping cars.. maybe I had to stop a couple of laps earlier to optimize it as mentioned by Big Al into the broadcast, called pit crew at the beginning of the lap, and went in, Medium compound and only 9 seconds spent, never happened before, a big thank to mechanics! Lost 2 places and retook 2nd after Richard Wilks lonely pit Car at this point was so lovely to drive on fresh tires, gearshift worked fine, fuel consumption under control on 2.2bar boost and i could rejoin rapidly Grant. After his second pit i lowered the boost and car still went perfectly still improving lap times. When Grant withdrew (too bad!), i lowered boost again and again praying for no miss shifts and nursing the engine as I learnt on previous races this year, keeping my head down till the end.. Uuuuuhhhh... what a big relief when i crossed the finish line, finally got the luck on my side, the dark period plenty of mistakes ended up. I WON Congrats to Richard Wilks and Juha Bos for their great recovery from the back , conquering a deserved podium, and congrats to all finishers, 2 hours on this mickey mouse track are really exhausting. See you in Austria, hope both Benettons will be on top!

Great race yesterday, the result was not good but there was a lot more to it, for the first time the car was much better to drive thanks to better configuration. from 17 to 11 and back to 12, I felt the car could finally do some fighting, and to think about driving that slow A9 again in Austria! Because I had hard compounds in the back I had to take it very easy in the beginning but inexperienced after so long I wasted it spinning like a rookie in the penultimate corner but was on the tail of a Mclaren from Chacon and Zak from Whited, the last one spun, Bruno slam on the brake and there I flew in the air, front wing gone and had to repair in the pits with a bend car a long finish away, from all the way behind, I don't know how many times I thought I'd blow it up, but this time the BMW didn't WANT to break! and the longer the race went on, I regained motivation to make the most of it. my joy is great now that Gab has won and in view of the last circuits I hope to be able to do some fun with the Arrows!
cheers all!

Devastating race from my seat Barely any time last week to work with the car. I'd also never driven this particular car, so when I did finally get in it Saturday night I got to work tuning it. Ran out of time, but was able to spend some time with it yesterday morning prior to the race. I didn't bother much with quali setup. I was working to stabilize the car for the long haul and that consumed most of my practice time. It was quite fun to drive on this circuit, but I couldn't seem to extract good lap times from it and given time restrictions I was just throwing things at it. Overall though, I was comfortable and ready to go the distance. Quali was not great. Started near the rear (that's ok...maybe it's 'safer' back here) Soon I found myself around P18-P16. Then pit stop cycles started and I started noticing a lot of penalties. I'd noted in the warm up that pit speed limit was 50mph and I put two and two together and decided I'd stay under that speed in pits just to be safe. It worked, obviously...and as cars dropped I started getting closer to top 10. As race got close to the end I'd managed to work all the way up to P7, which was starting to feel like a mini victory to me. But then I see Adam closing the gap and in the final laps the second set of mediums just bottomed out and it was a real struggle. I was trying to nurse the car around as I'd already had a few big mis shifts that I knew had damaged the engine. With tires falling off and the race coming to a close, the gap to P8 behind me kept closing and basically I pushed just a bit too hard on the last lap and BOOM...just like that it was over. On the last lap NOT the way I wanted to finish that one..but the track and car combo was a real challenge and was completely exhausting so I had a blast anyways. A bit lonely at times, but just flat out fun to drive the car at pace around this rather odd track. Grats to Gabriele and the rest of the podium - and all finishers, for that matter. I intend to check out the broadcast later today after work. As always, thanks to the broadcast team for their wonderful work as well. Also a thanks to admin here for the work you continuously do without fail. Sometimes, shit happens. Given the amount of work you guys do, and all out of passion and love for this hobby we all share, gratitude is definitely in order. So thanks! Will be on the look out for another one off in this series, if possible. Can't wait...over and out.

But, you will learn so much about the F1 1986 car, how set your car, find the limit whithout blow its engine or overheat the tires... I could extract a good performance in Williams in major to drive the Minardi for a long time... 17th in Grid for Osella was great, I took the same position in Minardi (the best start position in Hockemhein). Att,
