Will the 1958 F1 races be on tracks like they were back then? Will the distance be 300km with no time limit? I hope so... love the Spa67 (with 1955 graphics mod) version for Grand Prix Legends.. I hope the track has been ported already...

I hope the track has been ported already... What a great lineup for 2022! Big thanks! I think we will use a 1958 version of Spa originated from rF1 that itself originated from rF2. And that version has proper bumpy tracks, it's so dangerous yet so fun. I wonder how many times I've hit the houses there by now

Just a heads-up, that AMS-version of '58 Spa is visually impressive, but also quite hefty for the 'puter.
We'll see what the board will come up with.

That's good to hear, and reading this makes me even more excited! I'm sure it'll be a masterpiece!
For some incomprehensible reason I'm concerned about a period-correct pre-1967 Nürburgring layout (which would be a premiere in any sim), but I suppose I don't need to be worried

Well we have a quite heavy burden in terms of track creation/adaptation, so we will eventually have to cut here or there, but be sure that the initial aim is to do as much as possible from our long list.

Good evening. I have a question. Is there Toyota in the drm mod? or was it not there that season?

Good evening. I have a question. Is there Toyota in the drm mod? or was it not there that season? The Celica raced in 78 yes. With the correct bodykit to boot! ...I contemplated offing myself multiple times while remaking the rear wing and splitter... But please, drive the wheels off that thing! ^^

Well I am down to try my hand at IndyCars, hopefully I can get a ride as a rookie this season since I didn't feel ready in the tail end of the 2021 season

Salivating for a Jägermeister BMW 320 turbo will there be car developments in DRM like we've had in F1 and USAC? edit: realising now that there wasn't a Jägermeister BMW in 1978. Anyway, group 5 BMW 320's are among my all time favorite race cars. Just look at this amazing car from the Swedish championship 1976-77, driven by Bosse "Emma" Emanuelsson:

The cars will be static like in the DRM 84 season. But there will be various different versions of the 320 because as you probably know Jacob, there was many different approaches to the aero.

Adding onto what Richard said, car developments only really started happening from 1980 - 1981 with the introduction of the K3 and most teams jumping to that from the 77A2. This also happened with the Valliant Kremer outfit when they went from the 77A to the K2 in 1977.

Question. (Continuing from above) I'm planning on taking the Mampe Zakspeed Hans Heyer car for the 1978 season, but does that mean I will get the Capri in Round 8 or will I remain with the Escort until the end of the season? In Hockenhiem (R8) Zakspeed rolled out the new Capri. From what I gather from the message above if the cars are static, I'll keep the Escort?

Getting a bit ahead of yourself, we didnt mean "static" in that sense, and even those details and car allocations will still be talked We just announced the series we are running. Late December we will have more news about all, like schedules, entry lists, etc.

Terrific choice of series! Will the DRM series consist of split Div. 1 and 2 races or combined fields? The fields will be combined, but the points system will be combined as in the actual series. I'll have to come back on my answer: We've gone for the realistic option. The races which had combined fields in real life will be combined in our series, and the remaining 8 races will be split.

Registration and racing will remain free as usual, but we will appreciate any >>help<< towards covering the costs of the server renewal, due on early December at about 900 euros.
Thank you all! In case someone missed it: the above quote still applies.

I won't be racing in Division 1, so if DRM isn't getting coverage in 2022, just shoot me a message and at the very least, I can do the ISO commentary broadcast for Division 1 Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft. I know bucketloads about these cars, I mean you pick up a "little" something when you spend almost the past 2 years of your life modding them.
It would be a massive shame if these cars didn't get shown and publicized more given they are the first of their kind in sims. DRM Revival doesn't hold a candle to this.

How many "Full Time" rides will there be in F1 1958? Technically only Moss, Hawthorn, and Harry Schell ran the "Full Season" everyone else missed at least 1 race. All of this doesn't count Round 4, obviously.
