Pile up costs me my front wing... still went on and posting respectable laptimes, got into a great battle with iquino, until he shoved me aside... and then ran out of fuel on the backstraight... fml I'm sorry about that, I steered but I felt like our cars were sort of tied and I coud not separate, sorry.

lap 1 at kottenborn/schwedenkreuz and lap 7 at kottenborn/schwedenkreuz is all i'm gonna say. no comment on the rest, including being laughed at for asking a question regarding safety during the race. ever thought of removing my face from the dart board? As far as I remember, I didn't laugh at you. If you didn't want to start at the front, you shouldn't have qualified. you didnt, i didnt say that *you* did. you did your duty and answered my questions, i didnt say anything about that but i was also talking about the question whether or not cars that suffer heavy damage before the Betonschleife shortcut would be allowed to pit under the assertion that they'd be held there for one lap to make up the difference (the last part didnt fit in the chat box anymore but alas i didnt even need to write the rest out)

I already pointed out in the opening post, and in the briefing, that under no circumstance was it allowed to use that shortcut during the race.

Really fun track in these cars
Quali - was a mess. abandoned first try in turn 1, blew motor on second try, only had enough time left to put in a safe but acceptable run
Race - made my gears pretty long to protect the engine, was pretty sluggish in some turns, but pace was decent and it didnt blow up so no complaints. Really bummed for Kayo, we lightly touched while side by side in a 4~6 car hairpin traffic jam, and he went round on lap 2.

My heartful apologies to Mick Chapman- despite practicing pit entry and stopping the car at the right spot, this time due to the damage to the right front wheel I failed to do so, and hit you car. Tried to avoid at the very last second, but the car failed to react No worries at all....I did not notice!! That might explain why I could not avoid pace car. I may or may not have been rolling a ciggy while the lads were nippin off to get spare parts I broke all on my own.... All in all, not much fun.....(unlike the testing)....1st time using "seated" view in a league race..way too much to think about. I dont think I am ready yet. T

That was a fun race - very respecful racing just as everyone can wish for on this challenging track! Of course this track being relatively benign to the Div. 1 BMW that is slightly less powerful but more agile than the Porsches helps Grats to Thiago and all who finished - and Juha (edit: and Anders, the battle for Div. 2 1st is amazing to watch in the broadcast replay) for outqualifying me and venturing very far into Div. 1 territory in a Div. 2 car!

That was a fun race, time flies at this track.
But was so close to yet another DNF! Got some weird bug with my force feedback, it for some reason became really stiff and rattled like hell whenever the wheel was pointing straight forward. Luckily most of the Nordschleife is made up of corners, but every single straight was hell for my hands, they started going numb near the end of the race. Avus would have been impossible like this.
Anyway, the actual racing was pretty good. Got a good start, the FFB issue didn't affect my pace. I tried not to overrev the engine, as I did not want yet another DNF. Was surprised at the lack of mechanical attrition in division 2, so maybe I can push the engine a little bit more in future races. That bodes well. Had great battles inside the top 5 the entire race, peaked at 2nd place, did a quick 360 on lap 2, and eventually settled in 4th place. Good battle with John there, I felt very confident in that defensive situation and could hold him off quite well.
Congrats to Thiago and Juha, Juha had his hands full it looked like!

Qualifying was poor as I damaged the car and around the back of the circuit and had a 20 minute wait while the car was fixed. Then I wasted another 5 minutes with a stupid crash. After that there was just time for 1 fast lap. The race was ok but a few small dramas, sorry Bruno for the small tap on the rear, you holding the Div 2 cars up and I mis-judged your braking point. Then a bit later I managed to put the car outside of the armco and had to find a bank to jump the car back over the armco, very small amount of damaged sustained and from then on it was just be careful and get to finish. As I was coming up to the finish line the race finished and went back to the AMS menu . I hope that the results are ok.

Not happy with that one. I made good use of the two weeks of practice and developed a setup with a really nice handling all over the stints and decent tire were - just turned out to be completely useless once the race started. I was absolutely struggling with grip once the server switched to the actual race weekend. First, I couldn't get a single qualifying lap done, in the first attempt, I ran out of track when my wheels locked up braking for the Hohenrain chicane. Ten minutes for tow and repairs. Then on the second attempt, the car just slid off the track trying to turn in on Flugplatz. No chance for a timed lap. I've happily been in front of the upcoming mêlée instead behind all of it.
Well, that warm-up lap, looked all a bit ... unorganised, dunno if everyone was in the right place. Looks as if everyone got away fine through the first turns, though I had to to take a bit of evasive action into Nordkehre, that Porker in front of me looked a bit laggy on my end, and when everyone dropped the anchor, Alan was a bit closer to me than I appreciated. I got past the brazilian gang pretty soon, but from there, it was a real struggle, the car was unstable, understeering and all over the place. Despite all efforts to be super careful, I damaged my car already in lap 1 in the fast righthander leading up to Schwalbenschwanz. I gained a few positions by other people's mishaps, but I had some serious problems to keep up with the cars ahead of me. In free air, the car was about 8 seconds of pace. I went into the pits for a sip of fuel and new tires after lap 3, I used that opportunitiy to adjust my tire pressures a bit. One click less at the front and one more at the rear, and at least the balance problem was halfway solved. Still a bit slidy all along the track, lacking that bit of extra leeway when things got tight I had before, and still a bit short of its potential, but at least the car got finally halfways safe around the corners. Unfortunately I was right in the middle of the Div II cars after my stop, that cost me dearly, because they were simply to quick in most of the twisty parts, and where my ponies could make a difference, I was often to far away to make it stick, or it was simply to tight and I didn't want to force the issue. There are a couple of places where you need 100% trust in the guy in the other car to make a pass work. That cost me a bit of time, too, nontheless I could successfully undercut Pascal on his stop, just when he left the pits, I could pass him into Südkehre. He gave me a good run for my money for the next few miles and finally squeezed himself past me before the Lauda lefthander, but lost it uphill towards Kesselchen, when his car came sideways. That gave me a bit of space, but he could quickly close the gap again. My tire wear was a bit to high, or the temps, the car got increasingly difficult to handle. And there was the prospect of two more positions right in front of me, I could hear and see the Div II leaders in front of me after Tiergarten. I could keep my advantage over Pascal in the Hatzenbach - Hocheichen section, and didn't lose sight to the Div. II Bimmers in front of me. After Flugplatz, Pascal really wanted it hard, and I could not definitely rule out he wouldn't refrain to try an attempt right int he middle of Schwedenkreuz, something that would definitely end in tears, so I had to make a bold statement that it won't allow it to happen here. A bit of rough move, but IMO still within fairness and neccessary. I could then see in my mirror he lost the car in the downhill section between Aremberg and Fuchsröhre, nothing I had to do with. I went after the Bimmers in front of me and almost got one in Kesselchen, but it was to tight to really make it stick. But already in the Karusell, I felt the tires were done, I could still get through the downhill section past Hohe Acht halfways safe, but arriving at Pflanzgarten II, the car became increasingly useless, even had another brush at the Schwalbenschwanz. While I could still get very close to the BMW again on the straight, I had lost way to much time until Galgenkopf to still make it.
7th overall and 5th in class, there was more in there, but all the circumstances and events just killed my whole effort. I don't know what car I had, but it certainlly a different one the that I did test successful yesterday...

Grats to Thiago and all who finished - and Juha (edit: and Anders, the battle for Div. 2 1st is amazing to watch in the broadcast replay) for outqualifying me and venturing very far into Div. 1 territory in a Div. 2 car! Thank you! I spent a lot of time trying different gears to gain a few seconds. They worked well on full boost in qualifying, but the ratios I had for the race lacked in the middle sector.
After 2 blown engines, I knew I had to be careful. My best chance was to qualify on pole, which worked, and keep everyone behind me through the twisty bits while keeping the boost low. All of that went relatively well, except for the presence of Anders.
At Zolder, he was behind me when the engine went. At the Norisring, we were battling when the engine blew again. This time was no different in the way that I saw a lot of blue in my mirrors, and in front. I got away first, but Anders was onto me like a dog which hadn't been fed. The turbo power on the straight kept me ahead, until I messed up ad found myself chasing.
I knew if Anders found himself ahead at Karussel, I'd be doomed, as he clearly had the pace over me through the following section and could open up a gap. At one point, he did get the better of me. I then decided to run full boost until the end of that lap. The engine went into a territory I would have preferred to avoid. Nevertheless, I did catch him again, and applied the same strategy for the remaining laps.
The engine lasted, and after 3 Poles and having led each race at one point or another, I finally completed the job by actually finishing it off. Thanks to Anders for the great battle, it was massive fun! And well done to Thiago for his win in Division 1.

In qualify it was intense, the 1st try wasn't great but the second worked out well. Cezariusz had put a lot of practice and I knew he would get close. The start was quite safe. Cezariusz was close 1.5s in the end of lap 1. Slowly I started to open a good gap. I had to keep my head down and just a drive it like if it was boat. Cezariusz had damaged his car and Jaques was 20s behind, it was time for the pitstop to get fresh rubber and put some fuel. I enjoyed a lot driving around in this track in this car. Congratulations to the finishers. Well done to the podium!! Thank you Jason for the broadcast!! See you guys next race!!

Some great Great battles, especialy with fellow swedes. That first lap was great!
With that said, commited wrong in the chicane and the gap dissappered, sad to see Jonathan and some others lost out as a conseqvense.
Also wanted to give my appologies to Bruno for the last lap incident. I was again commited and did'nt have time to back out. Often 'less is more' being lapped, however my decition making was quite off this race so I do appologie for that.

Really enjoyed this one I thought Group 5 cars at the Nürburgring would be unpleasant, but I was very wrong in the best possible way. Working up the 320 in testing was fantastic , got it and myself nicely dialled in. I found that to make the race with out a stop would be too slow, so I put the boost up, saved a set of tires in qualifying and set of to see what happened. Got caught up in a first lap tangle after Flugplatz, escaped with only minor scuffs to the car, but did get caught up in some slower traffic, though I got clear of that by the end of the first lap. (having the swarm of angry Div2 cars in the mirrors was good motivation ) Rest of the race was just running as fast as I could, got the fuel and tires done quickly and overtook quite a few cars that were stopped in the pits. Came home forth in the end after only scaring myself many times, maybe could have been higher, but I'd have been happy just finishing. Thanks and well done to everyone for putting together such a brilliant race, looking forward to doing it again

Well, let's go. My favourite circuit!! My qualy was good, P3 in my division and thinking in the race. I knew my race pace it was good enough to fight minimun for the podium. The start was bad and I lost my third place with John Thim. In the third curve I was surprissed by the earlier brake of John, so I had to avoided him and unfortunately hit the guardrail taking right fender damage , and loosing my fourth place with Jacob (a horrible start) My tactic was, save tyres and wait for the last two laps to start the attack. But quickly the group caught the slower Division I cars and Francisco Amaral spun in front of me, hitting again my right fender and I "stepping" on the grass . My car lost speed in the large straight due to the damage and suddenly Jonatan appeared like a misil, overtaking me. Fifth it was not in my plan, but I decided to take calm and wait, and suddenly in the chicanes...John spun trying to avoid Bruno in front of Jonatan, and I could not avoid hit John and Jonatan (sorry mates ) and again severe damage in front and right of my car, but the handling was good enough. Apart from of the severe damage, I lost a gold time . I caught Bruno (sorry mate I hit you two times, I didn't think you were going to brake so soon, my aplologise) and more time lost. The gap was to high so I downed my head and focus on the race . My next step was Jacob, I caught him and we had a great battle. In the long straight he was clearly quicker than me due to the damage. I was too optimistic and tried to overtake him in a wrong place so I lost my brake reference and also I was about to lose my race. So I lost more time. Again I caught him and could overtake him. The gap with Anders and Juha was big enough so I decided to finish the race and take the third place in Division 2 . Congrats to Thiago (our Senna ), what a race mate!! and the podium And to Juha and Anders , they are in other Galaxy. And everyone who finished the race As Anders said, thanks to Jason for the broadcast, Jonatan for commentating while driving, great Job

So I had to race old school.. You could keep up with me in the twisties but on the straight... When that turbo kicks in... 4 lap battle, that's no joke, I have to admit that the fact that my car has no turbo got me mad at the race, because every time I caught you there was a straight so you got away again!

Yeah i was running max boost the entire race, but i wouldn't let the rev counter go higher than 9000, only on the backstraight did i let it rev higher because the air would be sufficient to cool it down at 260kph.
