Gee.. even just a small touch makes the suspension fold in on itself...
Qualifying was great! even better PB... but the start was a traffic jam... lost more than a couple of places... overtaking was almost impossible.. only got past Dave Miller is because he let me... but by the time he let me by.. i already damaged the suspension and the tires were overheated...
Tried picking up the pace but back end stepped out and lost front suspension and spun out not much later.. and damaged the rest... race over...

Woop, very happy with 5th place!
In my sole practice session before qualifying, I said to Jaques that this would likely be another "minimum effort kinda race". But he helped me getting up to speed quite quickly, and this is such a track where rhythm is key. I found my rhythm in qualifying, and in the race I settled in. No real hiccups, just some minor wall scratches, and battled hard with Anders pretty much the entire race. Went back and forth more than once before his superior racepace prevailed. Had some great battles with other drivers too, Juha and Ray among others. Especially proud of my overtake on Ray in the first stint. While Anders struggled to get past his superior Chevy engine, I managed to sneak by coming onto the back stretch. Was very happy with that. Long Beach 1987 is a tricky layout to pass on, but not impossible. You just have to be a bit creative. One "creative" move that did not go too well was when I wanted to show Wilks my nose sometime later in the back section. While the contact was light and didn't hurt my car, I guess it threw him off a bit? He was drawn into a seperate incident that was happening just in front of us some seconds later.
Anyway, very happy to finish this race, and in top 5 position as well. Onwards and upwards.

First off again, that track just looked amazing!
Had very high hopes leading up to this race until Saturday. Had a biking “incident” and ended up tearing a ligament in my wrist. So with a brace on I tried my best and just couldn’t match the guys up fronts pace!
Lap 1 I made a stupid error and misjudged Richard’s position and squeezed him completely! So glad he had no damage from it!
My race after that had bent steering and with every lap more pain from my wrist, 20 ish laps to go a lapse in concentration cost me a top 4 finish unfortunately
Congrats to all finishers and Thiago on a class performance!

All good Jakob, i didn't even feel the touch, my demise was independent of your move, i just had nowhere to go in the middle of the carnage there, tried to go for the gap that closed at the worst moment.

First time I had a competitive rhythm in these cars but it ended in the wall. Before the second pit stop I lost my concentration while setting the pit and hit the wall. Until that it was being a good fight with Dave Miller for what become 8th in the final. Need to thanks David Jaques for helping me with the setup on Friday what made me known better these cars management.

I had the pace for a good top ten finish but a couple of mistakes cost me loads of time in the pits. At the start of the race it seem like everybody wanted to go flat out, I let them go and tried to settle into a rhythm. I was hitting my fuel target and heading for the top ten when lost concentration going on to the back straight and hit the wall hard. Many laps lost waiting for repairs and I was last and I was going to finish last. I'm not sure why people wanted to race me when I was laps down on them, you're only putting yourself at risk of an incident. Anyway I finished last, 13th place not even a point.
Thanks for the broadcast.
Congratulations to Thiago, Richard and David J.
Indy is next, time to use that Chevy power.
