First visit to Avus
Strange, race Thread said 25 laps?? so I had too much fuel onboard... musta missed something
Chose a longer 5th gear to protect engine, couldnt hang on the straights at all, and engine blew anyway. Not sure how others can survive, but congrats Bummer for Kayo
Good one Ray!!! two podiums in a row also

Unbelieveable! I had it in my hand! No overheating! 78°c It was doing brilliantly at around 9000... 3 laps to go.... poof! Engine just stopped! That engine doesn't like 9000 I think. Not constantly anyway.
I suspected you were revving very high. Higher than me at least. So I just sat in second, expecting your engine to give up. Meanwhile Ray Riddall kept on my tail and he timed his move perfectly, overtaking me on the final straight. Well done!

Sorry if it caught you out.

Unlucky Kayo. I felt sad driving past your slowing car. Congratulations Ray . Well done Juha . I got hit in the right rear at the start (Anders I think), the turbo cars accelerate slower until the boost kicks in, the damage made the car more unstable on the brakes and even more unstable when driving in a straight line . Still 3rd place was a good finish.

After the 1st round Steam decided to install a update with a major hickup. In confusing I took the pitlane instead of the normal road after lap 1 and ofcourse crashed out. after a weekend full of disaster at my home, pipe leakage raining down in my living, it could n't be worse..
had long gears and about 8400rpm , abit slower then the others but, did not last long tho.

This track brings out the worst in my car and makes me wish I had a Porsche. Avus Mampe Rennen? More like Avus Porsche Rennen, haha.
I ran 1-1 wing and although it allowed me to somewhat stay with the Porsches, it was incredibly unstable on the straight. When you swerve left, the car snaps back right, and that's exactly what happened and I ended up ruining poor Rocha's race. Never again I hope that happens, what a terrible one.
See you for the next race guys!

Fun race. Nearly lost it a few times but managed to stay on track.
Just glad it was only 15 laps and not 25.

The distance being only 15 laps was interesting as it meant the race is run without fuel stop, but I had to manage the fuel use to achieve that.
Led to some careful tradeoffs and a mad all-out dash with Tim Hille on the last lap! Nice race and see you all next time.

Sorry Francisco Amaral for the contact, did not mean to send you to the next local pub. Was sad that I killed our nice little fight
Before the race I destroyed my race, I made a terrible setup choice, I decided to go for a long 4th to make sure that I finish and gain places thanks to the engine attrition.
My plan did not work out in the end because somehow no engine exploded

It was fun while it lasted We had a great four way battle for most of the race. I'm not too surprised I blew the engine with just two laps to go. Anyway, it was a nice way to spend the Saturday evening. And I even watched F1 on the telemetry tablet at the same time Yes, that was a fun battle! Unfortunately, Fanatec life hit me. The table clamp they provide is shit so my wheel got unstuck and I had to move it into place several times during the race. That last time I accidentally hit the off button.

Sooooo, finally a result I'm happy with! Botched it up in Q in the last corner, was on my way to the first row, when I missed a shift and lost about 8/10s, and then, Cezariusz just put out one and I was back in 3rd row. Bummer!
The race got off fine, at least for the first straight, braking for the first turn, things got a bit tight, a touch here, a lockup there, suddenly I was on the grass, lost five positions or so, I was slightly miffed and started over again. Got the first two cars soon again, the Bimmers weren't much of competition, and before long, I was fourth and going after Jules. A podium in sight, woohoo! I chased him for a few laps, my car was better on brakes and turning, and eventually I passed him. 3rd, noice! So, a few laps remaining, and Cezariusz in front of me, maybe I can fetch him for 2nd? Didn't work out, I was better on brakes and in the turns, but he could always open up a gap in the straight parts, though I got pretty close in the end. Having calculated with 25 laps, I geared a bit longer to have some extra revs for drafting, and I wasn't willing to stretch the rev band in the lower gears, as I wasn't interested in taking part in the annual engine schlachtfest, just the last lap I reved to the limit, which immediately resulted in best race lap as the icing on the cake! David was untouchable though, in particular, he could go a second faster on full tank, and I don't know what he still had in his bag towrds the end. But else, my first ISO podium, I ain't complaining about that!

I was taken by surprise with the 15 laps of the race. I worked all week to get 17 laps in the first stint with a very long 4th gear in hopes of the other cars draft, but I didn't count on the horrible crash in the middle of the straight. Suddenly, I found myself enveloped in a cloud of smoke at over 310km/h! It was terrifying, I barely escaped and without damage to the car, even though I picked up some parts from the Toyota. After that, I had nothing else to do, no one to drag me and even pushing me on every lap, I only saw the difference from the other cars increase. It was an error-free race but very monotonous for me.

My plan did not work out in the end because somehow no engine exploded I think I made a small move to the right to avoid the grass just before starting to break. And I was breaking earlier due to lack of confidence, so I don't blame you. Some touch in the fence let me more than 3 minutes repairing. Than it was just bringing it home. But surely there was good beer in that pub you send me! I'm happy to see the checkered flag for the first time with this car, but expected to do it on the leaders lap and close to the pack. Better lucky next time.
