Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I didn't let David pass me, so that I could avoid one more lap, I'd end up ahead of Andres who blew the engine in the last lap? I have a strange feeling that I'm a colossal idiot

Pretty gutted to lose the engine with just a few laps to go. Would've finished 7th in my first race for Penske.
Sorry if I held up any lapping cars too long. Just wanted to make sure passes were done in safe areas.

Was having fun while it lasted. I hate Street Courses, but there was something about the flow of this one that I just really liked.
I'm not going to complain, but I would like to know the justification for the total Restart when we've had crashes a helluva lot bigger than that one that did NOT warrant a restart.
After that things went relatively smoothly, apologies to, I think it was Hackman, that I squeezed against the wall in the Turn 1 melee at the 2nd start. After settling down I ended up turning my boost up a notch or 2 to try and get away from the guys following me and I realized that by lifting earlier in some of the corners I was making my fuel numbers AND slowly catching the cars in front of me. Unfortunately, I was also running a higher boost setting than I'd practiced the setup with, I went into one of the last corners faster than I'd anticipated and when I got back on the gas it turned me and I slapped the wall. Quick look back showed no rear wing in the road so I continued to only realize the left rear was flat as I turned into the next corner and promptly looped it and lost the rear wing. I then lost the front one trying to spin it back around and with traffic coming I opted to just park it for the day.

Almost half the field was affected one way of the other, and there was a literal traffic jam for everybody behind. Yes, we avoid restarts, and indeed it was careless from the driver that started the whole thing, but given how it would have broken the race, it was deemed warrant.

It was as tough as expected. Toronto is brutal, it's always been. It was clear that attrition rate will be very high. I didn't think I'd finish it, so I simply took the setup from Cleveland, did some 30 laps of testing and that was it. Qualifying was a nice surprise, as I pushed my 1986 March to P10. It didn't take long to realize that fuel saving will be extremely important. Honestly, I find it a bit unfortunate that yellows are pretty much non-existent in this series. I'd like to be able to push the car a lot harder. The lack of full course cautions (there should have been several) made it an eco-rally. Anyway, it was interesting, as everybody was coasting like crazy at least on two spots. And defending position under such circumstances isn't something you experience every day. Apart from brushing the wall 3-4 times, I made no mistakes. Until the very last moment. I simply didn't want to do one more lap, so I waited for David to pass me right before the finish line. I had enough fuel, I was just too lazy. No other explanation. I was really happy with P4. Until I noticed that Anders run out of fuel on the last lap. If I completed that lap, I'd end up on podium. I guess it ain't over till it's over. This is definitely one of the most stupid things I've ever done in simracing. What an utter idiot. Well, there's always something to learn... Congratulations to all finishers.

NP David , just one of those things. You being too kind. I still feel bad about it. I dropped a 5kg weight on his foot once. His response was “no worries just one of them things” So don’t worry

I was waiting to see the replay of my crash on the first lap of the race to release my dogs or not. It was just an incident, Luciano wasn't to blame, but... my race was destroyed on the first lap, even though I started very carefully, because I imagined it would be this carnage with barbecue engines. With 2 laps behind everyone else, I returned to the track with the steering wheel bent and blood in my eyes and with a gag in my mouth, it took me a while to get back to concentrating and that cost me a little touch in the corner that precedes the entrance of the pit and another 40 seconds wasted. Concentration returned and I didn't make any more mistakes for the rest of the race, trying to give as much space as possible to the cars that put laps and laps on top of me. It was like that until the end of the race when I was awarded an 8th place 10 laps from the leader. Congratulations to David for the brilliant victory at home. As usual, Jonathan and Mr. Walker gave a brilliant broadcast of the race. Congratulations to everyone who managed to survive and finish the race.
