First of all, my apologies to Dave Miller for that tap that sent him off the right line, just the icing on the cake of a really bad race.
Else, pretty much a pointless waste of time, I don't like airfield tracks, not in the slightest. Airfields are for aircraft, not cars. If it wasn't for Martin's update in the middle of the week, I'd gone and parked the car after lap 1. At least now I felt a bit as if I was in control of the car and found something like a semi-constant rhythm, but motivation and interest to drive on that caricature of a racetrack was low from the very beginning. The next blow to my already not very high motivation came in Q, when I hit one of the tire stacks in a way the car was severly destroyed, for something that didn't feel very hard. Well, at least I saved a set of tires, because took longer than the session to repair, so I couldn't try another run on a fresh set of tires.
Start was okay, lost a position or two, but I was sure some wouldn't make it to the end, and some more will find themselves in some significant tire problems. Dave got a slow departure from the righthander after pit exit and I saw a chance to fetch him, but ultimately, I wasn't in the position and he got tap from me that had us both passing the next tire stack on the wrong side, just apparently, he had some less luck than me and hit someone or something. I waited for him (which relegated me back to last), but he had to pit to fix damage. I started to fetch up the other cars, trying to drive as smooth as possible, with relatively low boost and keeping the revs in control to save my tires as much as possible. Nontheless, I gained some positions, I was within 3 seconds to Mike Olson in .... 9th or 8th position, but then missed my braking point in the lefthander before the pit exit and lost about 8 seconds. I started over again and could see the group in front of me getting bigger, and I was slowly gaining ground again, but then, going into the righthander before the pit entry, I hit a tire stack. Not a hard hit, but enough to bust my left front wheel. Realising the tire was flat going through the righthander after the pits, I happily took the opportunity to park the car and call it a day.

That was a shame mate, i was worried i saw you too late, and that was unfortunate You were doing good yes, that Beemer is going to win one, almost sure of it. As for my race, well, lot's of fighting in the beginning, but this was a very hard race on the engine, so i backed off a lot, and i guess it was he right call. Thank you for all who showed up, this couldnt be as good without you guys

Man, I drove so good today! It really surprised me, but very happy with my best race in months. I must have done 1000's of laps in all kinds of touring cars around this track, mostly in GTR2, so I know the place very well. I have spent most of my time in the rig doing Richard Burns Rally lately, I think that was the main component in my newly found form, because from driving an 80's Opel Ascona around dirt stages teaches you balance in the exact right way to handle my BMW around here. You kinda needed to do Scandinavian flick's around the esses and the tight hairpins here to do well, and the key to do the last hairpin best was to just touch the grass first at the left 6 to make the car turn, and then again in the right 1, to keep in the inside. That was what made my lap times in the race, and how I could eventually pass Anders. Because at lap 15 or whatever, I realised I had way better top speed than his similar car. "Huh, like I run way less downforce than him. Oh shit, I am". I hadn't actually touched the setup from Avus at all. A reasonable person would have run here at max downforce, I ran at minimum. But that, combined with my rallying driving style was what made me fast here. I knew I ran the engine harder than Anders, so was not too surprised that the engine blew. At least I showed that you cannot count me out just yet. When I get everything together, I will fight for podiums whatever the car, whatever the track. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Good job guys! My race was over at turn 1, lap 7. Tried to get a run on Juha, but misjudged the width of my Beemer and hit the tirestack at the inside which terminated my race . See you next week @monza. Rob

My first race at ISO and i could'n imagine better! So happy to have finished 2nd, not for pure speed of course but... if you want to win you have first to finish so I was able to keep Dauger at a reasonable distance and i was lapping at a steady 1.03.5 for almost the first half of the race. I was plagued by understeer and high engine temperature so i had to redeuce a lot the boost to cool down things. When Christian reduced the gap i tried for a couple of laps to pump up the engine hoping that he had just few laps of big boost avaiable but was not the case and he passed me. I was really surprised when he pitted. At that time with the 3rd 30 seconds behind and Dauger 1 lap down, what i did was just cruise to the end, really fortunate indeed but was big fun really. See you next week at Monza

Also, just want to make note that the incident on lap 1 with Drechsler and Miller was an obvious accident/racing incident. Just one of those things that happens and that I thankfully haven't been involved in too much. And clearly unlike the one at the Nürburgring earlier in the season.
