Now because of how many engines went south last time around, i will repeat this again: Keep the OIL temperature below 105 degrees!

Sorry guys. I don't know if I'll get to the race on time, because I'm working now, but my plane has broken down (I'm an airline pilot) and I'm outside my base waiting for the company to make a decision (aviation matters) but I am afraid I will get late at home. I will advise with any news

With regret and unforeseen circumstances I may not be able to race tonight, so my car is free.
Have fun Ray.

Definately bad news for me. Me and my crew are still waiting at the airport for a backup plane, so to my great regret my car is free. So sorry and thanks to the people who helped me with the car setup

I didn't have a qualifying car here and I thought that I would be more competitive in the race as I had focused on a race setup. The car was ok in the race with no major problems. After the first pitstops I was behind Jules (running 10th I think) just saving fuel after being a little early for the first pitstop. Then there was a car stopped in the middle of turn 3 right on my line, nothing that I could do to avoid hitting it. A hard crash, race over. Thanks for the broadcast , I'm watching it now.

Argh, race was 29 laps to long for me. Until then, it went better than expected, but that blown engine was expected, too.
First of all, thanks to all the dudes who pointed me at the right amount of wing, I was a bit lost during testing, doing only the 500 milers. Once that was sorted out, all the remaining pieces of the setup fell pretty much in their place. Q was okay, I matched my PB I've driven before, but I hadn't put much thought into a Q setup.
In the warm-up session, I did some smallish changes to the gearing, making my drive gear fractionally longer to keep the revs and temps in check, could have put a bit more thought into cornering gear. Unfortunately I had put no thought into yellows and restarts and left my fifth unused, instead of bridging the gap between second and third Result was I was pretty much a sitting duck when the flag dropped, and everyone around me was zippin' by like I was in reverse. Also, once again, track had changed considerably between testing and race, and the car was pushing quite a lot now. The later was remedied throughout race and pit stops by adjustments of pressures and roll bars and finally, the car handled just to my liking.
I made a very stupid boo at the first stop, I was doing a bit to hard exiting my pit stall and spun the car around. I was happy not to run into something, but that probably cost me half a second. Now on to fetch that half second, and it probably got me in a bad track position. A moment ago, I was about 10 seconds behind Bruno and Francisco, after the yellowfest inbetween, I was almost a lap down to them! :/ Eventually, I had made up that lap to them, but I had to go way harder, with less coasting and revving higher in 3rd than I wanted, and while temps (never exceeding 103 degs, and even that just a few laps) and fuel use were still in check, in sum, I probably revved that thing higher than what was good. About half a dozen of missed gears probably didn't help, too. Eventually, I got past Jules into fifth, and when Richard had to abandon his car, I was in fourth. More than I was hoping for! But then, with 270 laps completed, coming out of T3, all of a sudden, it became quite! Untill then, I had a pretty safe, uneventful (except for that pit stop mishap) race. There were a few tight moments with bits and pieces on track and cars pointing in the wrong direction, but I had a steady, safe rhythm and always had the means to keep the car out of the walls. Not a single wall brush! Too bad, was a pretty decent effort, but at least I won my personal triple crown: Not finishing all 500-milers this year...

After throwing a fifth place away 4 laps to go at Nazareth I couldn't have a better recovery.
I would be very glad just for finishing the 500 Miles but a fourth place was like a dream, even being the last one to cross the line.
Had a contact with the wall in Turn 1 around lap 90 due to deconcentration that made me loose a lap for repairs but ok the end it doesn't made difference on results. All the race I was looking for keeping the oil bellow 105° so the turbo never was set on max (3 positions down for most of the race) and a lot of fuel was not used.
I have to thank Anders Nilsson a lot for helping me with a setup on Saturday night. Without it I was not doing more than 3 laps without spining. I was sad to see you out in the wall, mate.
Good battles with Chacon, Hackman, Bouchard and some more in the first laps. But most of the race was a lonely one, but a very happy one at the end.

A conservative start, a consistent pace, no scrapes on the walls, no touches with other competitors, excellent disputes with Amaral, Bouchard and Michael. First pit at the right moment, when the yellow one appeared very close to the entrance of the pits, done very calmly. By the time of the second pitstop, I was already in 6th place, without forcing the car and with temperatures below 104 degrees and a lot of fuel left and it was there, in the overconfidence, disputing with Bouchard and trying to catch up with Rocha that my intimate enemy made me lose concentration, throwing myself into the wall and charging me 3 repair laps, with 173 seconds. Okay, I refocused and I was on a safe pace, 4 laps away from the closest, turbo boost at 0.23, temperatures at 102 to 103 degrees and the engine just died. It was a fantastic race! Congratulations to David and Vadim, you were exceptional. The broadcast of the race was excellent and I only have pride and reasons to congratulate such a powerful ISO league for this year full of joys and mod's so well prepared and a perfect organization. In time, I'm very proud to see my countrymen putting on a show on the tracks, Amaral and Rocha, I'm proud of you!

I wasn't expecting to be 4th by the beginning of lap 2 after qualifying 14th as I had a very conservative start and initially was passed by a couple cars. I nearly hit Mike Olson at the start as he was slow getting away and was somewhat blinded by the cars in front avoiding him. It was almost like avoiding a stalled car on an F1 grid at those speeds. I was too hard on the engine for the first 50 laps and missed some shifts a few times, so I'm not surprised the Ilmor blew. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did. Good racing with Amaral, Chacon, Rocha, Ceszarius, Drechsler, and J. Thim. Yet again I did not do nearly enough practice (just one short session) to make a decent setup but it is what it is. Should have made a setup that did not require shifting at least... I'm looking forward to Laguna Seca and Tamiami for sure.
