Racing, might be a bit late to quali as I'm coming home from sports that day. The cockpit has a cigarette pack Drechsler left behind. I don't smoke but I appreciate the gesture.

The #3 Tyrrell is now available as one off for this race due to Jacob Fredriksson not confirming his presence. If he confirms he’ll race his car before any one else claims it, he can still race it.

Jeez... worst driving ever for me today... Btw, next track is Detroit I think... I used to run it on single player with the old mod and I was quite confortable at it... today I had HUGE issues with setup. If I can get a car, I'll really appreciate some help

I'm suffering with flu today and couldn't get on with the car or the track. Small stuttering in qualifying that kept happening on fast laps. On the first lap of the race ran behind a curb and the car went airbourne, made it back to the pits and 600 seconds repairs but they didn't put the wings back on, time to retire.
Hoping for better at Detroit but that a stop/start tyre of track which is not my favourite.
Thanks for the broadcast.

For the first time I was satisfied with qualifying pace. I was about to do 1.27 something on my last attempt but screwed up my lap by clipping the kerb and taking off...
On race pace, well, I had a really competitive first and second sectors, but fading on third compared to Zakspeeds. I was running zeroed boost almost all of the time. It felt like with a bit more of boost I'd be matching cars ahead.... Still, nothing of it matters when engine dies whatsoever. Not a missed gear. Hardly ever letting over revs. Let's see what a slow track where engine won't be under same kind of stress.

Finally a win for the Prancing Horse!
Jules being absent, I had to make the most of this race to reduce the points gap. Jonatan and I did plenty of work on the setup and we felt we had a competitive car. We even had a better qualifying pace than usual, so all was looking good.
Jonatan proved the point by putting his car on the first row. I was glad to see him up there instead of being near the bottom half of the top 10.
My getaway was better than Jonatan's though. A bit too much clutch slip but I still gained a place and quickly opened up a gap to third place. I stuck to my planned fuel consumption and intended to attack Grant later in the race. His engine decided otherwise and I inherited the lead easily with a sizeable gap over Riddall Sr.
Ferraris not being the most reliable pieces of equipment, I dropped the rhythm while keeping an eye on Ray. He had other ideas though, and steadily closed in. In the closing laps the gap became smaller than I had hoped for, and Ray appeared to have fuel in reserve as well.
I tried to make my car as wide as possible and fend off the fuel efficient McLaren on the straights. Things were looking good at the exit of the hairpin on the last lap, but despite having just enough fuel left to make it, the engine started to splutter. It even cut for a short instant, which caught Ray by surprise and led to him hitting me. We were both lucky to get away with the ensuing set of spins.
All in all an odd set of circumstances to claim a win, but I'm still happy to achieve it. My main objective at the start of the season was to win a race in Alboreto's car, to honour the nickname given to me as a toddler for wearing a Ferrari cap. I still have it, but I doubt it'll fit now I'm closer to 40 than I am to 4.
Anything happening from now on is a bonus, and I'm looking forward to Detroit.
