It was barbecue here at home at lunchtime, I ate a lot and felt sick to my stomach right at qualifying time. I started the race with extreme caution but I couldn't avoid hitting Sibanyoni's car. Worse, it took me a while to realize that I was missing the front wing and continued to drag myself around the track for another lap. Coming back out onto the track, I was already lapping at the leaders and with the constant traffic of cars passing me, it was difficult to find a pace. I confess that I almost gave up on the race because I couldn't concentrate because of the bad feeling but, as I'm insistent, I continued, in last place. Halfway through the race onwards I felt better and managed to find a safe pace, but a little contact when I was lapped by Wittmann took me to the pits for further repairs to the car. I only had the consolation of finishing the race and surviving in 10th place.

The car was fine, just saving fuel thinking about the end of the race.
Sorry about the accident Oscar Thim.

We did it! Both Arrows crapwagons saw the finish line. The car was relatively nice to drive thanks to Bruno's setup. Still, it's probably the worst car I've ever driven in a sim. Coming home on 8th is a little miracle, even more so because of the mechanical issue towards the end. It started to lose power with some 3-4 laps to go and the last one was 10s off my usual pace. Probably the turbo. I doubt it would make one more lap. Still, I don't understand why I'm so slow. Maybe I can't use the full potential of turbo engine power delivery, maybe it's the boost management I struggle with. I'm doing fine in other series I race, but this particular era of F1 is kind of painful. I can't imagine being 8s per lap faster just based on my driver inputs, there must be something fundamentally wrong and I have no idea what it is. Anyway, finishing the race feels good. But I highly doubt I'll see the checkered flag in two weeks in Detroit

Arrows' big problem is power delivery. Either the car runs out of power completely or it easily lose traction after 10500 rpm. Beneton seems to manage this problem much better. I've been focusing on that as a priority and in some races it's worked, but the engine's reliability doesn't seem to be anywhere near the same as the Beneton engine.

Poor qualy for me meant I had to pass a few cars early on to be in contention with the leaders, worked my way up to fourth, pitted, then managed to get by Gabriel for third, which turned into second when Grant's engine blew. After that slowly closed down Juha till I was on his gearbox with five laps to go; there was no clear way past on this tight track, on the last lap, I stayed as close as possible out of the hairpin , but through the first esses Juha slowed for a split second, and that was enough for me to touch his rear sending us both into a spin, I feel sad for the way we ended the race, but congrats on the win for Ferrari, Thanks for the broadcast, and well done to all finishers.

Set a PB in qualifying so I was happy with that. 8th on the grid.
Had a great start and got up to 4th briefly but was back to 5th by the exit of the first couple of corners. Tried to settle into a rhythm but early battles halted that. Managed to get 6th when the race settled down and I decided to save fuel. Pulled a gap to the cars behind, but them Mark appeared and passed I didn't have the pace as I assume he had turned the boost up or was revving hard. Settled back down, made my pitstop (22 effing seconds) and came out behind both Anders and John. Turned the boost up as a result of my fuel saving. Got past John a couple of laps later and settled in. Grant dropped out so that put me back in the points, I then saw I was gaining on Mark at anything between 3 to 1 seconds a lap. Managed to gain the 30 second gap back. Took a few laps to pass him, wasn't too pleased with the late block on the run to the chicane, but managed to get past when he made a small mistake at the first chicane. Kept my pace up, had enough fuel to make the end but I decided to get well out of Juha and Ray's battle as I didn't want to influence it. Was no big issue doing the last lap, even though I'd turned the boost up again I still had 1.5L left at the end.
Was nice to score points, not sure if Detroit will be the same.
Congrats to Juha, Ray and Gabriele on the podium. Thanks to Jason and Alberto for the broadcast.
