After reviewing the protests logged and the race replay, the admins have decided that:
Jules Bouchard is excluded from taking part in the next F1 race. Despite each of our pre race briefings requesting drivers to be careful on the opening laps, Jules made contact with John Thim before the first turn and collided with Grant Riddall and John Thim in the first turn, causing John to lose his front wing. The decision to exclude Jules for one race is based on the fact he had already incurred a warning, the number of contacts in a short timeframe and the fact it contravened our briefings. We ask Jules to take a less aggressive approach in future races he takes part in.
Gabriele Del Piccolo receives a warning for an avoidable contact with Mark Wittmann in Qualifying. It is up to each driver to select a time and space suitable for their qualifying attempts. Drivers in slower cars cannot be expected to move out of the way during their own attempts when caught by a faster car. Drivers on in/out laps are still expected make way for cars on timed laps.
Furthermore, short cutting parts of the race track (this includes chicanes) with the goal of starting a qualifying lap sooner or building up a higher speed will not be tolerated any further. This also applies to other series run by ISO. Drivers caught short cutting will be demoted to the back of the grid.
Further rulings may be posted after the expiration of the protest deadline (72 hours after the race finish).
