Unfortunately, I cannot replace Matthew. For some reason the server connects me to Jason White.

Unfortunately, I cannot replace Matthew. For some reason the server connects me to Jason White. You need to select Matthew when in game/server and then select to ride with him.

Bummer, took me a while to get into a rhythm and sort fuel out, but nearing halftime, whilte trying to shorten the distance to Jason, I took a curb to aggressive through BBQ, and amputated a wheel. End of the race.
Untill then, I struggled a bit with pace, though the balance was fine, though shortly before the start, I made a change to my ARB setting which made the car probably a bit too aggressive throtteling out of the corners, in particular Sunset. David knows what I mean, sorry for that tap. Start was a bit hectic, and someone was so aggressive I knew that won't go well for long. And so it was. Then I had a nice four-way battle with David in the Nimrod, Bruno and Luciano. That darn Nimrod was always in my way through the corner, but on the straight line, I was lost, even with extra boost and throwing my fuel numbers off line. Sucks, if your're about 1 1/2 seconds per lap faster, but can't find a way past. David gave in at some point but it was pretty fun! Then it was for most parts a pretty lonely way, I adjusted my tire pressures on the first stop, and that helped me. But then, some 10 or fifteen laps after the first stop, the aforementioned curb hit me hard, and with the Armcos so close to the tarmac here, there was little to do.

Grats Dave and Juha! I had a banger of a race. Unfortunately I had to save fuel in the end because I had used too much trying to chase down David. Made it up the hill with a sputtering engine and was able to coast across the finish line with 0.0 litres left

Well, I finished...but I'm not happy about it.
First off, I understeered into Richard Coxon and took him out of the running, and then later I ended up probably costing Juha a 2nd place because again I understeered into him. Idiotic blue flag behaviour on my part. Naoki had issues with the swap so I ended up doing the whole thing unexpectedly.
To top it all off I was having screen freezes that were costing me 1.5 seconds a piece near the final corner hairpin section of the circuit. I also ended up losing out on 6th because I miscalculated my fuel. I would've had an extra .5 of a litre to attack Marazzi and Riddall at the end, but of course I cocked that one up too.
I'm really sorry to everyone involved in my mistakes and I accept any penalties that come.

Had a fun battle with several in the early stages but then got screwed by sharing a pitstall with Matthew (not your fault of course). That put me a lap down and out of contention for where I should've been. Still tried to push through and got up to 12th, but it happened again on the second stop and that was enough frustration for the day, so exited the car. Should've finished ahead of Ray if not for the pitstall issues.

I'm very happy with the final result of my race, but first of all I want to apologize to Jonatan for having lost control of the car when braking for the first corner, sliding towards the outside and sending him into a spin. Sorry Jonatan.
The first laps and the final part of the race were very intense for me, recovering second by second from Ray and Matty in the last stint...I was afraid of being able to get close to them but not being able to overtake them...then I realized that they were having trouble with fuel consumption, I still had fuel to use the boost in the last laps but there was no need given their consumption problems.
It's a result that makes me very happy... I got to know many of you by finding the 1983 Kyalami 1000km on You Tube that you ran in 2016, I understood that there were motoring enthusiasts online and not just, as I mistakenly thought, people having fun doing bumper cars, I realized that I wanted to try racing online with you, and so after so many years I'm happy to be back with you in Kyalami and having fun.
Congratulations to Dave and all the racer

First of all, congratulations to Dave and all the finishers! Unfortunately I missed the checkered flag because of my distraction on lap 39. Due to the traffic lapping me and my eagerness to keep up with the Nimrods of David and Jonatan, I missed pitting and ran out of fuel on the last corner of lap 40... :-( Anyway, great fun during the first laps, chasing David and being chased by Jonatan. Although my car had good top end speed, it lacked a lot of front grip. Considering the expected 7 to 8 lap deficit to the winner, I should have pushed a bit more and pitted earlier. Need a bit more experience with these turbo cars... Cheers!
