Another early bath, hit a chicane, but my teammate seems to be having more fun.

Would've been a painfully average finish..if I did finish. I was thoroughly mollywopped by most of the grid on setup - To be a fly on the wall in that Minardi garage. Struggled to get any true straight-line speed at the end of the torque band, but I made the most of it with Richard's help. A fun start, then a few perpetual scares as I had pockets of lag racing/being lapped by people, causing half-second freezes - happens to me sometimes (specifically only Reiza tracks) but I turned graphics down before the start. Perhaps need to rejig the settings, it has been a month's hiatus after all. Unforced error took me out of the running overall. I think this is my first actual start in the 1991 series, so it's not much a big dissapointment. Checks out about right. One to forget. Back to tinkering with the Fanatec to see if I can have better future luck.

Ostkurve chicane finally got me; was inevitable I think, but good race up til then. My apologies to Giovanni for the contact and the first chicane; I went into the corner too hot and lost the back end. Brain fade setting in.

Wow what a result to finish P10 in the underpowered AGS Ford. I Finally managed to finish a race without any engine failures.

Yay, finally a points finish, due to my own performance, and not as a result of something I don't want to talk about. A podium was probably possible, the speed was clearly there, (FL, oh my word! ), less than a second behind Anders, but my tire choice required a pit stop and that hurt me in the end. Probbly I had my pit stop timed to late, I was maybe a bit too careful with engine setting (ultimately 8 litres to much fuel), but the temp gauge hit 105° already in lap 4, that was a bit too much for my taste, so for most of the time I ran fuel mix 6 or 7 and just in the last 10 laps, I dialed up. Also Anders was a bit faster down the straights, that wou And I was physically done in the end, my right foot was trembling when I released the loud pedal, that cost me a few tenths per lap as well. Q was a bit ... not so grand, again, the car was probably good for second row, but I couldn't get my $h!t together, again, and had to abort two attempts. Two or three positions better were possible, but meh... I took a screenshot of myself on third position, though!
Start was decent, and the first corner was a pretty disciplined effort, at least at my end of the grid, I would make up a position, and another one due to an incident somewhere along the way. I got a light bümp in the rear somewhere in the starting stages of the race, but it didn't affect the car. Juha was a bit determined on the first lap than me, so I lost a position again, in lap 3, we took care of Luciano in that red thingy, and two laps later, I had a first attempt at Juha on the way to Ostkurve, where I fetched him on the inside, even though he did his best not to give me that space, all in a sporting manner, though. I had a bad run through the Motodrom, so I lost that position again. A lap later, same piece of tarmac, this time on the outside, and now I could make it stick. Now I had Anders in front of me, I would make up some time to him, but very slowly. I would shortly have a glance at him within 1.5 seconds, but no real chance to have a try at him. I also came a bit closer to the podium positions, that folded a bit up to a waiting game, one of the things I waited were pit stops. At some point, I realised, I was in 4th, so someone either dropped out or...? Cezariusz had made his pit stop, I had a look at my fuel gauge, already under 100 litres, and a rough estimate got me to the conclusion that probably neither Ray, Jules or Anders would probably pit. I haven't tried running the whole race on meds, thus I chickened out and made my pitstop. Pretty decent at 8 seconds, but my outlap wasn't that great and at first, I couldn't really close up to the cars ahead. But as it was a waiting game, I could observe how the gaps got smaller to the three cars ahead, then first Anders was in second, then Cezariusz was there. And Jules steadily got nearer to me. He was a bit too fast in the straight line for me, but his tires were clearly finished, I made up to half a second in every hard braking zone, but also, at some point, his car became more and more difficult under acceleration. If it wasn't for a bad exit by myself, he had a very bad exit with the rear all over the place out of Ostkurve, and before, I probably slightly nudged his diffusor on the way up there, due to a short break in acceleration during upshift. In lap 42, he had a bad run from the third chicane, which allowed me to go alongside him on the outside and finally take fouth position. Ray and Cezariusz were out of reach, but I did my best to still get Anders. I think, I shaved off 5 seconds in the last 3 laps, but in the end, it wasn't enough. Overall, I'm happy with that result. I had the setup quickly boxed in and the car really handled beautifully tonight. Hockenheim, the Williams and me really were a good match tonight. I doubt I'll be able to repeat that effort in Hungary, let alone for the fact I won't have the time to sort the car out, and I don't particularly like the track. But the last two races were far more promising than my previous efforts.

I wasn't expecting much from this race, i know that the point positions would have been reserved to the high power cars. However the car felt pretty good both in qualy and the race despite the lack of power that forced me to run with a very low drag setup. For the firts quarter of the race i had a fun battle with both Tim and Richard, Tim missed the ostkurve chicane,Richard was a tough bone to pass, obviously faster on the straight and it took me nearly 10 laps to pass him after a good exit at nordkurve. With clean air my rithm improved by half a second per lap and i was able to build a decent gap to Richard and John's Mclaren too but the point positions seemed a mirage. I was unsure if make a stop or not,i was 7th, car was pretty stable but the guys behind me were on fresh tyres and despite the gap was around 30 seconds they were slowly gaining and going to the end with worn tyres was a huge risk whereas not stopping wouldn't bring any benefits. The stop was a bit longer than expected and i lost the position to John and Luke but i was able to keep behind Wilks. Luke was an easy task as his tyres were worn but John was faster. Then while lapping Jason he spun in front of me and to avoid him i went to the right on the grass at the first chicane and i could do nothing to stop the car, broken front wing. No guilt from Jason, this things can happen but i'll be honest, during that particular moment i felt really frustrated. At that point racing was pretty useless as i was penultimate. I did the last 10 laps only to see the cequered flag but i was robbed of this little achievement too on the last lap, the car simply raised the nose on a kerb to demonstrate that a Dallara can a be plane too and wrecked inside the Black forest.
I'm looking for Hungary as we should be in a fair good position given the car; Congrats to Ray for the win and to the podium guys. Thanks to Jonathan for the broadcast, i'll watch later during the lunch break.

First race in the March was one to forget. It's a bit difficult swapping mid season and gauging where the performance of this car lies. Qualified 14th with a time matching what i could do in practise.
I got a bit swamped on the first straight of the start due to a misshift and struggled with racepace. A stupid mistake on lap 22 caused my demise. Came up onto the backend of Jason's Ligier quicker than anticipated which spooked me and I ran off the track at the penultimate corrner, smacking into the wall.
Anyway, onto Hungary

I did very poorly in qualifying, I made small mistakes that prevented me from being 1 second faster. As always, I made a conservative start and lost 3 positions. I knew my car was fine and using the soft tires at the front and medium tires at the rear, I would be able to do 23 laps without any problems. I had good duels, and my Benetton was very fast on the straights. Then came the accidents in front of me, I don't know how I managed to get through the Havlac wreckage, it was magical! There were pieces of cars everywhere. My focus was on Simon with the Ferrari and when I stopped to change tires, I lost the position to him but I was closing the gap and when I got very close, I was sad to see the huge black smoke coming out of the Ferrari's engine. The only car I had a chance of catching was Footwork do Like, who was losing performance and I got closer to him until I managed to overtake him on the last lap. It was a very exciting race for me. It was a shame that my teammate had an accident, as he had been having a brilliant race. Congratulations to Ray for the win and to Cezariusz and Anders. Congratulations to Jonatan for the excellent broadcast of the race, always showing all the disputes across the entire grid of drivers. Next up will be Hungary, a track I hate and I have no idea how Benetton will behave there.

I had a mixed evening. Was a bit of a write of for me in Q - simply couldn’t put a lap together. However I have a new fanatec DD wheel and pedals so was using last night to get some experience with them. In other news I (touch wood) have fixed my computer… long story short there was loose connections that with heat was becoming worse and worse! Thanks all and Jonatan for broadcast!

I knew it was only a matter of time before you managed to pass me. I tried to focus on not doing anything stupid in front of you, my car seemed faster on the straights, but I lost traction at the exit of the first gymkhana, which was enough for you to jump ahead. It was a lot of fun while it lasted.

I've just downloaded Hungary and v2.02 of the mod and the Lamborghini doesn't seem to work, with an error loading unknown_token_slotA.GMT to memory. I tested for a friend who was trying the mod out with a view to competing (he's quick and a safe driver) and he's having the same issue. Is the problem occurring offline or online? If it is happening offline please try the car online and let us know if it works or not.

The server description in the server list says 1991 version 2.01, yet we are on version 2.02? Does the server have the wrong mod version up perhaps? My Fondmetal loads in fine.

Saved the engine all race as it wouldn't have lasted driving normally, but still managed to almost run out of fuel with such a conservative approach. I had to slow down so much with 2.5 laps to go, I wasn't sure if I'd finish. But I'm glad I finished and managed not to hit those tire barriers. 5th was all the car had.
Had a great/long fight with Cezariusz though
