This photographer has great IMSA/F1 footage from 1989 - 1993.

I red about this Mercedes 500I engine. It used the same valve command by sticks (used in Menard/Buick engines, but denied in CART rules). The speed advantage was incredible comparising with other CART opponents. I remember saw at TV, Emmo is leading almost 1 lap ahead Al Jr. when remaining 15 laps to go, he scaped by rear at Turn 4 and gave this Win to Al Jr. I supported and wanted so much this win for Fittipaldi by the Senna death few days before...

This Engine was the main Guilty for the Split among CART and USAC. In 1995, the USAC ruled that CART teams must use CART Engines Specs, by this way the just cars that hadn't this Spec were the Menard/Buick (They took the pole and 2nd position on the Starting Field as well).

Probably one of my favorite Emmo moments after the 1993 Indy 500. Shame some people got their knickers in a twist about it.

Indy has its tradition and the drivers need respect...He choosed a wrong way to refused the Milk to promote his orange juice at Winner Circle... But I agree that this Indy500 was one of most bet editions, with Mansell, Piquet, Andretti, Luyendyk and others...

Should be a choice, not a requirement.

Should be a choice, not a requirement. I have to agree. Besides: a) the last i would want to drink after a dehydrating race is milk and some people are intolerant, or even against animal products. b) these days they dont even drink the damn thing anymore, they just splatter it all over their faces, and then shower in it.

You can argue about drinking the milk or not and I tend to agree with Ryan and Wilks on their arguments, but replacing it with his orange juice was not a classy move. If the issue was the milk then just refuse to drink it, raise the bottle and thank the crowd then don't drink. But the orange juice thing was completely out of place.

He hadn't need drink the milk against his will, but he used the moment to promote his own business (he produced orange juice from his Farms in Brazil). Ok, he don't want drink then he can just simulate drinking it to photos and sponsors and give back. It was an ethical mismacth, in my opinion...

Things would be pretty dull and some traditions a meaningless self purpose if it wasn't for some idiot once in a while who bends or breaks the rules for the good or bad cause. Hey, it still sparks a discussion 30 years later, and thus he just did the right thing! Traditions that are never challenged are destined to become extinct! #justberebellious

Just found this one today. Some pretty heated discussion about the engines. I can relate with the 4 cylinder boys.
