Will be around, hoping the Italian Stallions will survive the stresses of the Österreichring.

what's with the liveracers.com reporting recently? None of my laps are registering except one, which gets repeated. Noticed this for a few other drivers as well, so it's not just me. Not that important, just thought I'd mention it though.

It's an error with the track and the way it counts laps.

I will not make it today.
I've injured my forearm and I won't be able to do a full length race!

I was having a really fun race fighting Matt Sibanyoni all the way. He had much more straighline speed whereas I was faster on turns. Not only our engine differences, I was running 4 rear wing 6 front, since I couldn't feel safer with less than that.
Also, decided that I wouldn't care about fuel, and because temps where not an issue, I came to conclusion it was time to drive and have fun, rather than drive and suffer. It paid well I say. I enjoyed it so much, and found out a spot where Matt was having a really awful time with traction, so I went for it and overtook him. Then, missed the chicane, had to use the escape route, gave back position and then had to chase him again. Until I tried the same place, went to greedy in the accelerator and lost the car in the marbles. Couldn't save it from the barriers.
I was sure my engine or fuel would end my race, but this one is totally on me. No regrets though!
Thank you to admins, and broadcast team! Happy summer holiday season for all!

Accidentely I pressed the Neutral Button at uphill straight, and when I upshifts I geared the 1st gear and Boom. It wasn't engine anymore...

First of all: congratulations again to Jason White for the great broadcast, it's so professional and well done that I prefer watching ISO rather than current Formula 1. I can't remember the name of the other commentator (Ryan?) with the amazing Scottish accent that I love so much. Did I get it right? Anyway, great job you guys!!!
Congratulations Richard Coxon for another fantastic win! These Williams are in the best hands, with Francisco finishing in the points, too. Congratulations to my team mate Bruno Chacon as well, taking the other Arrows to a solid finish! Besides, what a race from Sabre!
Oh boy... I couldn't practice for this as the week was busy at work and home, but the Osterreichring is well-known so it was just a matter of setup and checking my limitations. I had some private testing to prepare the setups, but when I saw more than 340kph top speed in Live Timing I didn't know what to do. So I decided to take wings out and qualify in the last 10 minutes with 5-3 in wings. Lots of adrenaline but useless. Although starting in 20th with this amazing grid was comfortable for me.
So the 40-year-old rookie was happy in his gorgeous Arrows (I do like this car mustard colour), comfortable in the back of the grid, finally with a good gear box that allowed for a good race start! I was confident the BMW was gonna give me happy moments today, and it sure did. What did not was my car balance... setting the wings at 9-4 was a bad decision, I should've gone for something safer in my (lack of) skills. But the start was beautiful - even missing the bloody 2nd gear while trying to overtake Alan's Minardi.
Turn 1 was rather clear for me, 15th place was a dream, very different from our previous edition of 1986 where the start was hectic and I blew my engine 800m later. But then my limitations started to appear. Bad at the fast corners, and I started struggling and losing positions. Then at the last turn I lost my rear and brushed the wall. Enough to damage the right-rear suspension. Which was not bad as most of the turns are to the right. So actually the car got better...
That's exactly what my setup was lacking: some suspension damage to make it perfect! What a mechanic I am... well, I don't know if Chacon tried the setup but I've sent it to him during warmup, trying to help. He didn't hit any wall though. I forgot to update him on that. But he's doing great.
Then another spin later and another brush... at the same place! This time my rear wing was gone. Both times I was able to not cause any harm to anyone else, got back clear and straight to the pit box. 406 seconds equals 6.8 minutes, which was enough to stand up, sit back, and watch the other cars onboard so I could try and learn something. Wow the fight up front was hot, and again Coxon doing such an amazing race in that Williams! All cars I drove so far this year are currently doing great, so maybe my hidden luck is there with them at Williams and Benetton. Anyway, 6.8 minutes later I went back to the track. This time with B-B tyres (started B-C, I don't know how you guys do it with D-D) so I wouldn't need to stop anymore.
Car was weird at the beginning. The temperature took forever to raise in those tyres. Engine was good as I had turned it off during repairs, so fresh as a lettuce as we say in Spain - although I race as a Brazilian. And weirdly enough, after the tyres were heated the car handled beautifully! Wow... took me a couple of hits till the setup was right. So I tried to recover, hope I didn't scare anybody while being lapped - I've tried my best in not disturbing, although Francisco might've not liked the 3 wide, which was not my decision but the other guy decided to pull to the right while I was in the left side forever so... whatever, it went nice.
And then I got carried away with the turbo, spinning the car for good at the S before the final corner. Fog I needed kilometers in this car... gotta be next time then.
Good holidays everyone, i arrivederci! Prossima agara à Monza, al tempio della velocità.

Well done all, I needed 1 more lap to gain on the Riddall that blew a motor! Still considering I signed up this morning, I'm glad to have finished the race, especially in the Osella turd! Hope I wasn't too in the way when I was being lapped!

Big Kudos to everyone in the top who were able to do those lap-times and make the fuel to get to the finish.
Without being lapped, running on average 2 seconds a lap slower, us Ferrari's would have barely made the line on our pace.
Dis-heartening race, this one, but hopefully the August break will bring a change of wind, though I personally would love to be able to skip the next event at Monza... That track is so bad to drive in my view.

Finally I managed to finish in F1. I'm relived. I had the most fun in an open wheeler for a while. A lot of mods have the "dirty air" that you get following someone in corners spit you off the track, but here it's nowhere as bad and very realistic to enable good racing. So big credits again to Wilks and the team for the work. I also have to thank Giovanni for the awesome setup to help me here, I was struggling a lot until his super knowledge with the car came through. I want to finish side by side with him at the end of the race, but I noticed Gilles Taux slowing and thought I had an extra lap to try and pass, but I ended up almost killing us both!!! I had some super battles, Alan Santo as he said, his car is much better in the corners, I had some suspension damage from a near miss with Dario Apa, I thought my race was done but I preserved, stopped for damage repairs and new tyres, and now finally the weight of getting to grips to these cars to finish a race is off my shoulders. Hopefully I can do it all again in Monza, and I look forward to my more comfortable zone of sportscars next week in Spa!

Qualifying was nearly a disaster as my first lap had a lot of distractions but I managed to keep it on the track. After that the track was too hot for any improvements. I had a better than average start off the grid but I knew I wasn't in contention as the engine just can't make it on the fuel here and maintain the required straight-line speed. So I tried to go out of my way not to get in any needless fights and run my own race. My goal was to finish in the points and I'm pleased with one point. Almost didn't get any though. Looks like the top 4 or 5 had a fun race running so close to each other. Still using my backup laptop. But this should be the last race where I use it and the last race where I'm racing in +32C indoor temp. Can't wait for the last leg of the season. Thanks in advance for the broadcast and congrats to Richard on another win and the other podium finishers.

It was the most frustrating race for me! My accelerator pedal misconfigured and even accelerating everything, the accelerator only went up to 80% of the total. The maximum speed I achieved was 270 km / h in fourth gear, when I put fifth gear, the car lost speed. I used soft tires at the front and medium at the back, which under normal conditions would do 26 to 30 laps, but in the condition I was in, I did the entire race without changing tyres. Drivers who put lead laps must have been surprised how my car simply didn't accelerate on corner exits and it was very frustrating, as I didn't make any mistakes throughout the race.

Qualified about where I had expected to be 8th place, I just can't find the speed in qualifying. I had a poor start (I think that 1st gear was too big) and fell back to 14th, managed to get back to 11th at the end of lap 1 and then back to 8th on lap 3. I kept pushing but staying to my fuel numbers until about lap 20 when in 4th place my wheel (Logitech G27) when to a 45 degree angle exiting the final turn. That let Ray and a Benetton through and then I let the other Benetton go past. Once I got a bit used to the 45 degree angle I pushed again. The pitstop lost me a few seconds and then it was a fight with Grant, Ray and Anders which I managed to find a way past, next was Tim Hille who I didn't think that I would catch but the gap started to come down and I got a run up and past into 2nd. Richard was 5.5 seconds in front and again the gap was coming down when I got on the power too soon exiting the chicane and spun, I had to push again and got back to 2nd place. I'm not sure if Richard was running out of fuel or just taking it easy at the end of the race but I closed to 1.5 second at the finish. Unlucky with your engine Ray. Thanks for the setup. Congratulation Richard, Well done Grant and Tim. Thanks for the broadcast I will watch it later. Now to fix that G27.
