Sorry for the no-show. Still sick with Sinusitis but had the intention to try to qualify the Coloni. Sadly got called out to referee 2 games of floorball instead, just got home. Sometimes I really hate Floorball

Will be short, so it should hurt less: Qualify: I hate my qualifying skills + I can't handle these qualy tyres yet. Race: I was on hards, they were working lovely. I was trying to decide whether to pit or not, I noticed guys on newer rubber didn't have huge performance gain(Grant was faster but couple of tenths only that time). So I was observing Grant, Anders and Juha times. I had 65% rear tyres on 40L so either not stopping or stopping with 20L to go and mediums.
AMS decided it was time to give me a painful CTD. Feels horrible tbh...

Finished my simrig Friday evening, having very little time to practise. My best bet was to finish the race just ouside T10, but my engine was quicker than Minardi and myself. Seeing replay I've noticed, that I kept reving the engine some 500 RPM higher than my teammate Tim. Well, I think that didn't help at all, but got some impression that ranom mechanical failure was also present as an unwanted passenger at the back of my M191. Like 13th cylinder in a V12 Congratulations to Ray for very nice Pole Position lap and all other drivers who are still fighting on the track.

Well it was good to finish the race, get in some good experience for the rest of the season. In the end I saved way too much fuel, about 8 litres left in the tank. I also had 6th gear set too short so had to nurse the revs in 6th gear on pit straight. Excited to get the FA12 at the next round, as it is way better the FA11C from initial tests!

This one was also tough for me. I barely had time to practice in the last couple of weeks. Made it in qualy just by 0,5s. For the race I used a setup developed with just a few laps right after Phoenix. Started P23, had a clean start, gained a few positions and settled on P20 or P19. Planned a 1-stop and both during the 1st stint and after pitting had a terrific battle with Petr. Thanks for the great race Petr! It made my race definitely more interesting! Unfortunately the Yamaha engine was put to rest by lap 49 and I was forced to call it a day. Congratulations to the podium finishers! Now I look forward to Imola, where the BT60 will make its debut. I wonder if it will be a step forward compared with the BT59Y... Cheers!

Qualifying was good for once as I managed to be 3rd. Some small tweaks to the setup helping the car turn in easier. The start of the race was ok, dropped to 4th, and was trying to re-gain 3rd from Grant but as he turned into the corner he clipped my right front wheel spinning me off to the outside. It was a quick recovery but down to 14th or something and the car was lacking straight line speed which made it difficult to overtake any car. Another spin while trying to pass the Lotus, as I didn't have the speed to get past I had to try and hang on around the outside. I ran a long way on B tyres before switching to C's for the final stint and then the engine let go. Congratulations Richard C for the win, and a good second for Ray, Anders third . Thanks for the broadcast I watched after my engine blew.

I managed to improve on the performance of Olivier Grouillard, and qualify the Fondmetal 22nd , which I'm happy with ☺️ Race was mostly uneventful, even if I was a sitting duck on the straights, happy to be only two laps down, 13th place, and setting comparable laps to the guys around me. Hope to get a seat for future rounds, great job on the cars guys! ☺️

Phew, I'm pretty done, now, but in the end, it was a fun race.
After that unfortunate DNQ at Phoenix, I started from the basic setup I used there, adjusted wings to the needs of the track, looked a bit into compounds, pressures, slight adjustments to dampers and ride height, but what I had basically cooked up at Phoenix worked pretty nice for me, I felt pretty comfortable.
Except for the qualifying, I just can't use that extra grip from the Q tires, P20 was a bit tighter than anticipated, and then, I botched my final attempt at the last corner where I just ran wide, losing out about half a seconds. Narf!
And then from bad to worse, I had one hell of a start, with way to much wheelspin, I almost slid sideways into anoter car. Back to 24. And then, there was a big chaos at the end of the backstraight, and I had to take evasive action, which put me another position down. Second to last, now I hadn't had that in a long time. But as the race setup worked better than the Q setup, I could slowly gain one position after another, with a couple of neat, short fights, but then, I was long time stuck at 14th position, fractionally slower than the cars ahead of me. And it got warm in here, I was soon pouring sweat. I gained a few positions when pit stops started. Shortly after half time, I made my own pit stop, and boy, my crew had one hell of a day! I had a 10 second stop, just enough to wiggle myself out of my sweater and throw it into the corner of the room, I was accelerating free hands out of my pitstall for a second or two. But to my surprise, it got me to 10 position. Yay! And now, on a Medium - Soft combo, the car came truly alight. I had about the speed of the cars ahead of me, but balance and behaviour were way better now. And with a few more cars dropping out, I became 9th, 8th, 7th. Nice. But the race was far from over, and suddenly I realised it wasn't Rob in the BMS Dallara I was holding at distance, but Luciano in the Ferrari getting closer to me, and with 6 or 7 laps to go, he was filling my rear view mirrors. I could hold him off for two laps, but then I had a not so ideal run from T4 and he passed me. Well, that's it, I thought, and went after him. But I soon realised he had some advantages at turn-in and in the infield, but my Williams was better through fast corners, on the brakes and had more topspeed. And then, I had packed up a bit too much fuel, and I kept the engine temp under 100 deg for most of the race, so I cranked the mixture to max and looked at what was possible. And all of a sudden, I was able to outbrake him into the Senna-S and run a bit away. He had another stab at me at the first hairpin, but I could find again my way past him, and successfully hold him off over the last two laps, and finished in 7th, just a few tenths of a second ahead of Luciano. Thanks for that great scrap, mate!
In retrospect, I might have made a mistake with starting on harder tires, and I certainly gotta find a way to make more of all that grip of the Q tires, but else, I enjoyed the race. 25 seconds short of a point, with some fine tuning, I shall find them. The car itself was a dream around here, I could always place it where I wanted it to be, and except for an almost-half spin, when I had my rear tires out of the temperature window, I was able to drive very safely and controlled, which is not always the case for me.

Couldn't really find the pace with the car... only just managed to qualify..
A bit of a hectic start...
Car was more setup for the straights... but i kept trucking on... some mistakes here and there... untill when i was being lapped... i made the mistake of letting the car i race for position by.. i was pissed off... outbraked myself into T1.. and sadly collided with somebody and took his wing away... apologies man.. then it was just driving solo untill the end... letting faster cars as cleanly as possible.. even giving some guys a pull on the backstraight...
Anyways.. See you guys at Autodrome Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari!

Almost 1000 km of training, no broken engines and no accidents. I started well but ran out of field in the first corner. Strangely, my car had the right front tire overheat, something that didn't happen once during practice. After the pitstop, my car felt great and I continued at my normal racing pace and without warning, the engine went out. A race to forget.

New pedalboard. In practice was ok, in qualy same, in race a real disaster. Undriveable. After the race I had a long talk with the producers to find out decent settings, they omitted on the manual.. . I never ever drove like this . Unacceptable by my point

Ah dang..
Not the best Q for me but the start was pretty decent. Had a great strategy (for maximising my car here) and good race pace, unfortunately lap 64 I missed 2 gears on the same lap and my engine said no thank you..
My fault. Got to be more careful! - David sorry for the contact lap 2. Wasn’t sure if it was my fault or racing incident but either way sorry for the contact.
Thanks everyone for tonight. Has a blast and you guys in the booth.. always appreciated!
Good job Richard, Dad and Anders!

Well, that was disappointing. Qualifying went way better than it had any right to, thanks to some setup help from Niklas and Richard C in practice I was finally able to get some laps in with the Soft quali tyres. Sadly I wasn't able to get the race tyres to work the same way, so stuck with the hard tyres I would have been easy pickings for the cars behind. It ended up not mattering anyway since I managed to pick up damage before we even got to turn 1. Trying to go around Sabre on the right, I instead got pinged into the wall as he and Nilsson came together, after that she was down on speed and pulling to right for the rest of the race. Not much to after that but slowly bleed positions to faster drivers, or quickly in the case of the impromptu Tony Hawks grind on inside curb at T3 (sorry for the possible heart attack that might have caused Ruben). At least the engine held out, despite my spiking the revs with missed shifts three times.

Q Super happy with 4 th on gridd R. Got off the line decent had a small contact with Sabre missed a shift, got tapped from behind . Bent steering\ susp and aero damage all this before turn one . Turn off all damage repair twist up the antiroll bar digg in and drive part from that it was enjoyable ! Grant was really putting me under pressure in the latter stage off the race wich forced me to ask alot off my engine . Once his gave up i eased off alot, knowing i´ve been dancing on edge of danger with it ! No fun end to for Grant, but it meant a for me ! Grats to Richard C, Ray Ridall and all that finished Boys in the booth

Thank you to everybody for making such an event, specially to the guys who try to qualify, thank you for showing up and giving it a go, dont get discouraged, i am sure even if you didnt do it today, you might do it next time The great thing about being a low profile driver (I mean with less knowledge or ability, in my own case) is that I have more room for the real pleasure of enjoying an event or a session like this. I wish I get to learn more about the car at the earliest. But being part of the group, in a wonderful season like 1991 with such beautiful cars, iconic tracks that remind me of my first true racing game, with that Yamaha sound, with a great, talented, and nice teammate, with some of my friends, and racing along such a strong field of drivers, with an incredible broadcast… … each time I am able to line up my car is a personal victory. I’m loving each second of this 1991 season!

Muuuch better qualy than Phoenix. Still no idea what happened in Phoenix qualy.
With that said I have no idea why my race pace was so much slower than in practice and warmup here. I know track/ambient temps are not identical but my tire temps were still pretty much the same and in a decent range. The car just felt like it had a weight attached to it. Will try to iron that out for Imola.
All things considered, I'm very happy with a 5th place here. Zero stop races are always interesting too.
Congrats to the podium and thanks for the entertaining broadcast!

Qualy was crap. Only managed to complete one lap without mistake. At least it was a reasonable time (for my standards) which put me into P19 and out of danger of being dropped.
Made a bad start, lighting up the rears and overrevving the engine hard. Luckily no damage done. Some good fights in the first lap which I finished some spots up, P16. Unfortunately I locked the rears and spun in the last turn on lap 5 which put me behind the two Footworks. Since this early iteration of the Footwork is lacking top speed, cornering and...well, everything...I was able to repass them relatively easy.
Michael was closing in the Williams now, he passed into T1. Since he ran a bit deep I tried to cut back to the inside but he was also coming back to the racing line and we made slight contact which put me into a spin. Three seconds lost but luckily no damage to the car.
Closed the gap to Bruno and was then stuck behind him for ages. Bruno did absolutely no mistakes and the top speed of the Benetton was supreme. Several times I was right under his gearbox out of the last turn, but even in the slipstream I lost 5-6 car lenghts in the uphill run. I think there was a chance to make a dive into the second slow right hander but I didn't dare. Just imagine what the Brazilian fans would have done to me had I taken out the local hero.
I decided to go for an early stop in lap 31 to take another set of B compound tyres and could do some quick laps in clean air. When Bruno did his stop 6 or 7 laps later he rejoined a couple of seconds behind me. It was an insanely fun battle, enjoyed every second of it.
By stopping early I also jumped Luciano, but the Ferrari just flew by on the straight. I had a relatively calm rest of the race, the only gains being made when other drivers retired in front of me. Two spins late in the race were kind of embarassing but didn't change my result, P11.
Imola will not be easy with the low-powered Larrousse. But there was quite some attition in the M1 Procar race last year, so anything can happen. Provided I can qualify...

That was an intense race!
Got a good start and Richard wasnt that far behind, the gap was up and down mainly due to traffic but was around 2 sec's up to half way. When Richard pitted first, I immediately followed suit but to my horror it was 21 seconds! This put me 8 seconds adrift, i was on the limit every lap trying to catch him. The gap was coming down but not fast enough. I got the gap down to 3 seconds but i was pushing my engine and it was getting hot so decided to take the points and ease off with 4 laps to go.
Well done Richard, well deserved! Good job Anders and shame about Grant
Thanks guys in the booth

An old-fashioned qualify session with tension as tight as a bow. 3 attempts , 1 more to go to not DQ, I will and I must qualify this Ligier. This is what it was all about but for your heart not really recommended, lol Actually the inserted day to qualify like in 2017 was a better option. when you have 2 days in advance to spend your weekend differently , man man what a tension this brings to an evening of racing with your friends. That last stint was do or die and squeezed out a low 1.18 that earned a spot on the grid.
Now to finish the race, because the engine sounds great but also drives great despite the necessary modifications it had to undergo but never got the chance, one of the best v12 engines in f1 history, unfortunately due to inferior combinations and never really developed to show its maximum potential it remained a teased screamer. how do I bring her to the finish line in one piece, well just good to listen to the engine and switch gears by ear, due to the modification of these cockpits you don't see those rev lights so all 71 laps switch gears by feel and ear! now I have a small advantage.... but well a mission accomplished p 14 and hope not to have gotten in the way too much. enjoyed it immensely, but also saw that there are many good drivers driving around in cars that really deserve better which brings the competition much more excitement!
till the next one
