It is, yes An uncle of mine had one (Not my aunt depicted above BTW) and it was really appalling, you had to get out and lift the rear around because it had no reverse gear. Also, to spare in a differential, only one wheel was driven

Ahhhahhaha I have seen a good many of those, actually saw one in Cheste last sunday in the Racing Legends classics. But I will give someone else the chance to step up and guess it, if not I will say what it is.

If I'm not mistaken, the president of a government died in one of these cars due to a bomb shooting it sky high -even over a building!

The car is actually in a museum, and not that bad after jumping 30 metres in the air ...

I assume, since it's in your neck of the woods that it's a very early ute, question is how early...
I'm going by the fact that it looks like a Ford Coupe in the front, so a Ford Coupe Utility or something like that maybe?

Ahaaa! Thought that might trip people up. That's a no. Not an Australian made car. But the ute variant is an Australian only version.

London is a clue. Well the country is... Produced from 1949-53. Assembled in 3 countries... Australia, Sweden and England during this period.

It sure ain't easy to find that kind of info so fishing around a bit, if it was produced in the queens areas, it's likely a BMC subsidiery but that seem too easy so let's throw my dark horse in here since no one else is guessing:
Armstrong-Sidley Whittly 18 (my dad born in the 40's has never seen one in Sweden) but they built it for export for Australia as a Armstrong-Sidley Utility and Station Coupe.

What a great time when odd combos of countries were building cars together. It's actually a Triumph.

What a great time when odd combos of countries were building cars together. It's actually a Triumph. Even with you telling me It's a Triumph I can't find one, what's the model name of it? Also, anyone who hasn't posted a car should have priority since non of us could get Sams' car sussed out.

Juha you did not tell us what your car was. A for Pascal's, I will do a search, I have one idea. Looks Fiat based, like an X1/9 because of the rims also
