First off, i'd love to see some of your guys sim setups. What rigs do you use (If you have one), what seat, what wheel etc. Even comment if you don't!
Secondly, i'm finally looking to purchase a rig and a proper seat (At the moment i have a desk and a tub chair, numb bum central right here!) and i'd like so advice and inspiration. I'm happy with my wheel, but i'm looking at the Sim Lab Evo 1 cockpit, anyone have one of those? if so what are your opinion on it? I've watched YouTube reviews etc, but i'd rather here from the simracers here instead of Youtube stars and reviews.

Best bang for the buck by FAR, simetik. Cheaper than the one you are looking at, and you can adapt any seat to it while you save for a bucket, even an office chair can be bolted there. Best buy I ever did, though little Al kept it and I reverted to the old Gamepod. simetik.com/web/ |

 works out about more because i would have to get the shifter support (50 Euro on top) where as you get that with the sim lab and then the VAT seems more than over here. Delivery bumps it up a bit too. All in all it come 467 Euros (Including postage). Looks a great bit of kit though and i will certainly consider it. Regarding the seat, i will have to buy one anyway, so i will probably be getting a seat at the same time as the rig purchase from whoever has one to fit me

Oh and one thing I forgot to mention about the Simetik, we added cart wheels to it and you can move it around easily with a hand, which I doubt you can do with the Sim Lab one because of the aluminium profiles. Makes way easier to clean the floor around and below it, plus it's easier to store.

Ah OK yes get caster wheels by all means. The one thing I see different in the SimLab is the heigth of everything, looks bulkier and bigger and higher to me than the Simetik, but I might be wrong. What seat are you eyeing?

I have this Autostyle seat: www.sportseats4u.co.uk/shop/racing-seat-harness-roll-cages-brands/auto-style-racing-sport-seats/auto-style-racing-bucket-seats/auto-style-type-bs6-bucket-seat/and it's OKish as cheap seat, the fiberglass structure though bends easily with weight on the seat part (Not on the back) and the cushion lifts the front of your legs to a maybe too high angle while it is too thin where your bum goes, but that is a matter of taste. Good thing about it though is you can take everything out and even disassemble the cloth/fabric for washing easily, or fit extra cushion below and get a different angle and more comfort. The fabric is quite warm, be aware of that as in the summer it feels excessive, otherwise it's probably great 90% of the time in the UK. I don't know much about the Bimarco, but I have the feeling it's a slightly better seat. |

There is one exactly the same on eBay,not at home at moment but will find it as soon as I am,btw I have a game racer pro cockpit with no seat at home spare if you want that,it has gear shifter mount on it,could drop it off when I am up your way.

Hmm, wonder if you could attach a different seat to it as it looks very un comfy that one. Good price though.
I'm still inclined towards the Sim Lab rig though. The customisation available seems appealing.

That one looks great for the prize indeed Steve! If you can live with center post it is indeed a great option. And regarding your question Richard, it appears the platform is drilled so it would admit other seats that come with railings. Or, you can drill the holes yourself if needed.

Good point, I hadn't thought about the center rail, would be quite a problem if I fitted a bucket seat I imagine since it pushes your legs together.

Says it doesnt interfere and seat is comfy, but I guess it should be easy to put a metal plate on the existing railings and bolt on it a really good race seat. Ideally with side brackets to control angle.
Of course the simlabs one is better, but depending on your budget this one with a really quality seat could be the best option.

Appreciate the good tips on cockpits ITT as I'm long term looking to replace my center postwheelstand with something more sturdy.
I've just finished installing the swivel display mount on my desk and can finally change between using the PC for simracing and other entertainment/browsing/work. I can recommend using this if you are challenged for space like I am. Really happy with it. The manufacturer of this kit is called Ergotron and sometimes you can get them used on ebay for very reasonable prices, but I think there are other manufacturers as well.

I'm rocking a Playseat challenge with the following: T300 steering wheel, SRH dashboard with a streamdeck replacing one of the buttonboxes. A3.5' screen as dashboard (connected wirelessly via hdmi over air), Renovatio SRD 4C tachometer. Thrustmaster T Racing Scuderia headphones. Stereo amp with subwoofer connected to 2 small tactile transducer behind the seat on each side and one large under the wheel. Custom made shifter mount by joining 2 Garmin RAM mounts together and bolting the TH8A on it.  And there's the wall of rims:  Oh and for those who have a Thrustmaster setup; i've designed a quickrelease gripcollar that allows you swap wheels faster and also grips them tighter: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4004552So if you have a 3D printer on hand. you can print them or have somebody else print them for you. |

Jesus are you planning a trip to the stratosphere with all that or what?  Looks like a good amount of nice hardware, congrats - though that playseat is probably too basic for all the rest. I like have you have the steering hanging in the wall instead of deer heads, fitting trophies for a simracing nut I guess lol BTW why is the Ferrari rim covered with tape as the old Nascar cars? |

To provide grip: they are made of rubber, i drive with gloves and in order to get more grip and no grease and sweat on the rim, i wrapped them with tennis grip tape. It worked wonders tho! More grip on the wheel and no more sweaty hands. As for the seat being 'too basic' i don't have much room, but i wanted a real seat. The challenge fits that since it can fe folded up and stored away when not in use. |

So, finally got my and got it set up how I like it. Need to do a bit of cable management, but she’ll do for me. Went with the SimLab Evo 1 and a Sabelt GT 090 seat. So much better than a tub chair and desk! Hope to get a button box in the future. Thanks for the help! P.S Excuse the image quality   |
