So it turns out I'm not racing. 😐 Computer had hardware issues and is back in for repairs. Best of luck to everyone. I'm absolutely gutted to miss Silverstone. 😢

Extremely frustrating! My son is also in the same situation now, his computer has passed away and a new one will only arrive in 30 days. He's pulling his hair out here. I would even share my PC with him, only we have different game styles and putting his games on my PC would overwhelm my HD SSD. I hope your PC returns as soon as possible.

Since Larrousse couldn't wait for me to get back to them on weather I could drive or not for this event, they felt they needed to find another capable driver so I have been looking around for another drive since I now know that I can make the race.
After a while Enzo Coloni came up to me in the paddock and came with offerings of good wine and beautiful women if I drove his Coloni for this race. Now, while I far prefer Beer and Ale over wine, the offer of beautiful women stroke a cord with me, so you'll find me strapped behind the wheel of the Coloni for this event.

I guess the same can be said for me, I got the car on the podium while Francois was away on rF1 but never mounted a challenge for the win when I did... But well, it's not rF1 anymore It's getting kinda interesting at the front for the championship now.

But well, it's not rF1 anymore It's getting kinda interesting at the front for the championship now. Yeah. I thought the same too. I think the front runners are so used to their cars and this mod is so sensible that I think I wouldn't be a threat. In the other hand, rules should be followed and it would open a precedent so other fast drivers would feel they have right to drive cars with unfair advantage. I agree 100% with the Coxon feedback. I will be happy to join the grid in anything with wheels. And yeap, the championship is getting very interesting. Gabriele is going for it!! What Pascal, Richard and Miller will do about it?

There are more free cars, and some quite decent ones. The difference between driving for the fun with all the rest of people on the grid and coming only to cherry pick cars that can give you victories (Which is even a lack of respect to the rest of the field) is being able or not to put up with a sub-par car and enjoying the experience as it is. Thiago you already showed that you could do that in the Lotus at the beginning of the series, if you have now more time for racing you can easily fight for points with some clean drivers in the Larrousse for example. Jonatan already showed it is a points grabbing machine and puts a quick driver on par with some good but not so fast competitors.

Finishing ahead, I'd say.

There are more free cars.......... I agree Alberto. But I confess that my lack of understanding about this mod specifically put me in such situations. I took the Lotus in the heat of the moment when I was in a vacation trip, did my very first test the mod just before race 2 when I was in Japan and after a couple of races without understand how to make the car work and not having anybody around to race I gave the car up.(nobody's fault) I regret now that I realized I just want to be in the grid. I don't know how this things drive, each car is it's own mod, I just knew a Dallara was faster than Ags, Fondmetal and Modena. It seems the 16 is available. Can I drive it? Tks!

The important thing about setting a car up is not racking up thousands of kilometers, it's understanding the signs the car gives you and reacting accordingly. If it understeers, oversteers, etc. etc. where and how it does what, and solving those issues. We're on Teamspeak almost every day during race week, so why not come on the Teamspeak with me, Juha, Jonatan, DJ, or whoever is on, to ask for some help?

The important thing about setting a car up is not racking up thousands of kilometers, it's understanding the signs the car gives you and reacting accordingly. If it understeers, oversteers, etc. etc. where and how it does what, and solving those issues. We're on Teamspeak almost every day during race week, so why not come on the Teamspeak with me, Juha, Jonatan, DJ, or whoever is on, to ask for some help? Well, that's the problem right now. I have a bi-weekly rF2 single seater series that I have to prepare for aswell. And it runs on weekdays. And this time, I've also got a 24H race coming up to prepare a stint plan with driver availability, strategy and so on... Thus I also decided not to block a full-time seat earlier. I can feel the car and tell when it goes into over- or understeer, but I can't solve the issues. I am the driver that tries to drive around the setup issues, but too high wing or not enough top speed would still leave me a sitting duck on straights for example. There are some things you can't really drive around. But even then, your Q pace with the Tyrrell is crazy. I am supposed to be a "top tier" driver(depends on viewpoint) restricted to tier 3, but my disfavour of hotlapping and setup inability(or rather the issue that I keep forgetting what I kind of learned before/disability to put it to use at a different track) seems to limit me, actually. I can try testing the Tyrrell to see how close I can get to your times with the stuff I come up with I wonder if it makes a difference with heel/toe and such, I drive unrealistically with the paddles and my rig doesn't allow heel/toe, I'd crash trying it. Anders&Brian prove you can qualify the Minardi way higher than I managed to(and that was even with previous input from David or Alberto I think)! Sweats nervously

What's the point in this? It just stops me from enjoying a good Fidel Castro with my appetizer on Sunday evening.
Timo
Well besides whatever fun you might have on the way, you are collecting some really good merits to get one of the top cars next season. And that is a real game changer

I can feel the car's reactions well and make a constant setup without damaging the tires. I just can't keep up with speed without losing concentration. These cars on the edge are very nervous and unpredictable. I see Miller putting it easy 4 seconds faster and no matter how hard I try, I am always far away and often, I feel more comfortable in a less fast car. Maybe for being less shameful for me ... lol
This was my first championship with a first class car and I, in my hope, thought it could be more competitive.
It turns out that the faster the car is, the more skill it will require from its driver and that is where I owe.
Despite everything, it has been a great challenge and extremely pleasurable to participate in this championship. After all, I am very proud to have the privilege of competing with those I consider to be the best in virtual motorsport.
