A place for us to share games that we remember and loved from our childhood.
Here is a few of mine
Grand Prix on Amiga
Toe Jam & Earl on SEGA Megadrive. Nothing scared me more than the Dustbins that came to life!
Super Monaco GP on SEGA Megadrive. Loved it when I beat my Dad and was able to be G. Ceara who turned up in the second season.

Here is a couple of mine, I started out playing games with my older sister, therefore a few of my very first ones are English title games played in English with my sister translating every single dialouge, oh, the memories And the first game I was able to play on my own but me and my sister still played it together, so much fun hehehehe....

I suppose Sega Rally in an arcade hall was the first one I played, but when it came to games on which I spent far too much time at home, these three definitely stand out.

My first memories of PC gaming was booting up the old Windows 98 machine, running defrag, putting in the Grand Prix 3 CD and hearing this orgasmic intro:
I still play it today, and I even still have the original CD and CD case! It all still works, and it's already twenty years old... Oh man..
At the same time, I remember all the BSoD's and freezes when having played this game here, most of which got solved by, oddly, removing the CD from the drive:
Other games I remember playing in my childhood, which..frankly, isn't that far ago: Grand Prix 3 2000 Season (which I got for my 4th birthday), TOCA Race Driver 3 and I also remember Andretti Racing very well, mostly because it had these weird controls, I knew them from GP3, "A" to accelerate and "Y" to brake, however I remember on Andretti Racing, I never got the brakes to work because, and I didn't know that back then, due to the different keyboard layouts between Germany and the US, the actual brake key for Andretti Racing was "Z", which, obviously, is next to "T" on a German keyboard, therefore nowhere near the "A" key!

The first 'real' racing game that I had was.
Wolfenstein 3D was the real first person shooter.

Ahhh, GP4, still good today!
Showing your age there David 😅😉.
Did anyone play the Microprose Grand Prix Manager game, and remember the big old PC/MS DOS boxes games came in?

Yup! I love collecting them! And yes... i have multiple copies of Formula One Grand Prix for the amiga, but that's because i used F1 EDit on some of them for better frames and graphics. Oh and ofcourse.. can't leave out the old C64! And that's not even cratching the surface... And don't let me start on the Sega Master games, Sega Mega Drive (Genesis), Sega Saturn and Dreamcast games...

Also for NES. Interesting how it's Indycars, but the venues are F1.

My brother and I burned many hours playing this. The physics weren't too realistic, but the music and general gameplay experience was great. Rain conditions randomly appeared which was also pretty cool.

Another one I used to play as a kid. Don't think I ever completed the full rally.

I remember that Network Q game. Rally sims didn't really work very well until Richard Burn's Rally.

Another one from a bit later, based on the British champ. The stages we're based on ordinance surveys maps and were realistically long. Some took 20 mins plus to complete, it makes me laugh when the modern WRC games claim they have epic stages that are about 20km in length, this game had 40+km stages. Loved this game to bits. Yes the physics wasn't great, but at the time it was a fantastic game, and I still consider it one purely for the stages.

The physics could be tweaked with a tool I must still have around in an old HDD and were then much better. Plus new cars added. It was an awesome game, I played it a lot although with gamepad. All the time waiting for the tarmac stages LOL rallying never was my forte. On a completely unrelated note, this is probably one of the simpliest games ever but boy did I have tons and tons of fun with it in the ZX spectrum days. School Daze, were you were Eric and had to coplete the mission, light up all the shields in the school, escape the teacher's rage and avoid getting too many lines to copy as pubishments before the time ran out. The characters and the interaction with them were priceless, amazing for such a small computing power. I recommend you all to have a look at the video and see how fun it was, and for those of you educated through the english school system I'm sure it will raise a memory or two ...

You might have to find that tool for me.
Man those sound effects from the game you mentioned made my ears bleed everytime he got lines 😅. Looks a tough game. I wouldn't have coped as a kid. 😅

So you crashed back then too 😉🤣
Yeah, I remember too if you didn't change your gearbox mid rally too, it would pretty much always fail.

Yes, but I remember the later Megadrive (Genesis) version which had you sat in the cockpit.
