All cars were changed after the test race, so don't expect to see the same results or compare yourself to that. Plus I wonder if Martin would have made fuel in that race. 🤔

Ah well, that was unfortunate, but nowhere completely unexpected: managed to complete 25 laps, then the engine called it a day. At least, the most I could convince it to hold up, but I was aware engine life management here is a lot more difficult than on faster, more open tracks. Untill then, I made a pass on track and already went up as far as 15th position, balance was fine, maybe a little to sticky on the rear end, had that Minardi behind me under control and slooooowly creeping up to the car in front of me (although already being a minute down), and when not bothered by faster cars, could go a decent rhythm. Missed the braking Point for T1 once, though. I hope I wasn't too much of an obstacle, faster cars were more gentle than at Spa or Montréal. Was fun until then, would have loved to get some more mileage, but I'll hope to make up for it at Paul Ricard!

I really don't know how to push the Minardi to the finish line :-) Today I drove the whole race with the lowest Boost. I shifted in time but the engine burned out at the end. Congratulations to all who arrived at the finish of the race.

Decent qualifying, tough race. Go an average start, good launch but then bogged down which enabled Juha past, then carnage ensued an Miller got past, lost a lot of time behind him. Managed to get past eventually after a small mistake by him. After that tried to close the gap to the guys in front, i was slightly but then i had a spin, so pitted and had another spin for good measure. So a very lonely race, backed right off for several reasons but yet the engine still didn't want to play ball. Oh well, the way it goes. On to Paul Ricard, a track i think that should suit the Ferrari very well.
Congrats to Grant, you did what Arnoux or Lafitte should have done in 86 at Detroit. Well done Vadim on your first points, i'll be interested if you can do it again in a fuel race though and to Gab DP. Another strong performance, you've come on leaps and bounds since the setup changes you made at Spa.
See you all at the next one!

It was a good race. Mainly I need apologize to Acerclinth by the contact when we had a battle for position, but I got a good pacing with no tire changes and I collected the DNF's. If my engine let me run another lap I could take the Coxon DNF and finish in 7th, but it expired one more time at the last lap. But I done the 85% by the distance to take the race finish. This 8th place is the best result in this Season.

I am off to my Kopecky Mattress after I ll get something from Kessels in . Allready love the broadcast. Hahaha. Race was insane in the last 40%. Thats all I got to say. Complete tunnel vision. No idea what happenend to anybody apart from that blue car. I had a private chat with my golden boy Grant and also made a statement on track about that missfortune in turn 4. Deserved win Grant. WHAT A BLAST. Thanks. Thanks ISO. @ Richard Coxon: Thank you. I am very curious about that too.

Well done to all who finished. I had no answer to Grant and Vadim's pace. The car was definitely capable of it, but I wasn't prepared to take more risks. I'm also happy to see my teammate Bruno score points for the second time in a row, first time both McLarens are in the points.
Qualifying was business as usual and I parked it roughly where it should be. At the start I avoided the mess and gained a few spots. The car felt felt really good, being fuel efficient it was probably a lot lighter than other cars at this stage, and I was eager to make use of it. From eight place I went up to fourth by lap 12.
I wasn't losing time to Vadim and Anders, but I wasn't gaining on them either. However, I did gain on Gabriele and overtook him for third place on lap 18. A lap later, Grant demoted me to fourth again. From there on, my focus was on Gabriele. My mid-race stop was a decent one so I held on to fourth. Gabriele never stopped trying and the gap was never more than a few seconds.
I then missed my braking point and the stutter in the wheel gave a clear indication of what had happened: a destroyed brake disc. I was lucky it happened at a place where an escape road was available. Down to fifth then, but the Italians seemed to give and take and what I lost to Gabriele, Ferrari "returned" to me with Anders' blown engine, promoting me to fourth again.
A quick look at the lap times. The gap over Coxon in fifth place was manageable if I kept it pointing in the right direction. I didn't succeed, spun a few times, but his engine let go before he got to me, allowing Bruno into sixth place. With Brian Janik over a lap behind, I cruised to the finish. At any other track, I'd have probably missed out on points, but here I bagged three despite driving a crippled car.
I'm now watching the broadcast, really enjoyable so far.

Holy.... shit.
Ending lap 1 in 11th I did not think I could win this race. I’m exhausted, literally exhausted.. I’ll write a race report tomorrow for sure but just wanted to say thank you to Vadim for that race. Was amazing
Also to the broadcast. Always great as per usual.

Don't fret about it Richard just one of those things, was a shame though as this was one of very few tracks I felt competitive on and could of probably of stayed on the lead lap.
The race was exciting to watch as Grant and Vadim battled it out , well done guys and to all finishers . And what a fantastic looking track this is, would love to see it on the calendar today.

Well what a race, Firstly though two apologies, in Quali I was on a warmup lap and was going round fast. Bruno let me through perhaps thinking I was on a timed lap of which I wasn’t and then swerved to get heat in my tires infront of him. Didn’t want him thinking it was me being annoyed or anything as I started to think about it after! Also to Brian, I went for a stupid gap when lapping and should have been more patient! Anyway, on the build up to this I tried every setup change under the sun. I couldn’t find a setup I was comfortable with, but then in warmup I changed my bumps and roll bars which instantly put a smile on my face! Starting 2nd (well done Vadim that was a pristine lap you put together) I just had to get my car into turn 1 first which I managed to do, but Vadim made a great move into turn 2 and we were practically side by side until t4! Then my race really started! Me and Vadim had the smallest of touches which sent my car spinning. Literally had a heart in mouth moment as I spun and saw like 6 cars all facing me so I put it in reverse mid spin and done a kind of Californian u turn! Managed to get away in 12th and set about my race. The next 20 laps was all about recovery whilst I managed to get back up into 3rd! Pit stops arrived and thought of undercutting with mediums ( which were reacting to the track temps perfectly) and dived into the pits lap 30. Pit crew done me no favour with a 17 second stop but I think Vadim got an even worse one! Anders I see have hired red bulls pit crew because dam he jumped Vadim and then some! The next phase was hunting Vadim down whilst hunting Anders and by the time we all met I saw Vadim pass Anders which worried me but thankfully, Anders missed a gear and that was my chance! After this and some more laps I was behind Vadim. I just knew and had a feeling he would let me through after lap 1 on which he did. The gesture was amazing and huge respect! Reason I gave it back is because small incidents happen and it’s part of racing, god knows I’ve made a few this season so far. Once I was back in the lead it was horrible, I felt like that carrot dangling in front of me was no more and it made me nervous for some reason. So it was all about defending which was brutally hard. Crossed the line and literally had a huge sigh of relief. I can tell you thou. For 40 laps straight I was and pretty sure Vadim was too, putting 110% effort in. I was racing with Quali lines and gear changing in mind. I saved my engine in the parts of the track I felt it stressed but abused it in parts I felt I could get away with it and thank god it lasted! Thank you to all and Vadim thank you for the battle. That was the hardest race I have ever done sim racing hands down. Jason and Alberto done a superb job again and like to say the track was just top notch! Onto Paul Richard with an engine upgrade

I spun and saw like 6 cars all facing me so I put it in reverse mid spin and done a kind of Californian u turn! A Rockford maneuver? linkBrabham engine begins overheating as soon as its fired up, which was much worse here in Detroilet. So plan was to drive the long view, with no boost, no missed shifts, and hope everybody else retires from the race. it almost worked Engine still crossing 115 degrees fairly often. 20 laps to go, a lonely 8th, I started shifting like an I was on out lap in Quali begging for reliability, and whattya know, suddenly lots of other people got hungry and pulled over to cook. 2 points I dont deserve, not fun, but I'll take em Sorry to a few of you for having awkward lapping moments

Quali. First sry to David Sabre im pretty sure i messed one of ur laps up Happy with Q 6th Race Got a flyer of a start was 4th out of the first turn with DJ trying to claw it back into t2 . He overshoot his brakepoint just a tad and went wide. Then the Grant moment up to third . Got by both Piccolo and Vadim after a back marker made a a little mess . Went for it flat out trying to shake Vadim off, but it was a nono he got it back easy . Was second until the pitstop my crew did a stellar job 10 sec First again but it wasnt to be Vadim and Grant was just in a leauge off them own . And on lap 54 my Ferrari had have enough and packed it in . Now the hopes for points were on me teamie but hes Ferrari also had enough and gave up, think the Bossman isnt happy . Backmarker were outstanding this race not a foot wrong gj guys !! WD to Grant ,Vadim and Del Piccolo + all that made it Broadcast as always a pleasure to watch and listening to

Quali. First sry to David Sabre im pretty sure i messed one of ur laps up No problem. At that point on that lap I was over 0.5 seconds faster than I had been and faster than I was later on. I was annoyed at the time but I should have gone faster later on but I didn't. In the end it didn't make any difference as I qualified about 1 second behind the car in front of me.

I had high hopes going into this race as I had a good car and good pace.
Unfortunately the tires, especially the rears, quickly became undriveable. One thing led to another and that was that. Disappointing, although I highly doubt the Ford would have lasted anyway.

Didn't bother with a Q set, I wasn't gonna qualify anywhere near the top ten. An iceberg breaks off and drifts away between me and the pole runners Tried to make the car more suitable to race conditions, as far as I could. Probably too understeery on slight throttle, too loose back on the power and generally a nervous car. I somehow went from P19 to P10 on the opening lap thanks to spins and finding an opening near the right-hand wall), but come the first part of the 90° degree left-right turns, I got a big whack from the left rear and my suspension/steering was bent. I tried to manage, but after a first turn clash with Ruben(sorry man) and a spin I decided to retire right away instead of trying to repair. Just wasn't my day(again)

I watched the replay (from my local files) and while no contact was made, your suspension seemed to register a hit. Probably due to rFactor's less than stellar net coding.

Well, I don't suppose I should have too much to complain about after being able to bring the Zakspeed home in 10th place at the line but it's a somewhat somber top 10...
Thanks for the apology Bruno, I realise it was an honest tiny contact but it was also a case of me "having to turn in at some point" to make the corner. Sadly it had grave ramifications for my race but shit happens, it was allready going somewhat downhill before that incident.
Practice: I once again got a bit of help from Anders who tried my setup and made some rather significant changes to it, the car was understeering like crazy and he spotted the fault which I had clearly missed.
After that the car was, well for what it is, not too bad to drive, proved by me blasting in a 46,9 first lap out with the altered car. Thank you once again Anders, your help is greatly appreciated.
Qualifying: Managed a PB by about a second in Qualifying which I'm extremely happy with, the grid position of 22nd not so much. Drove the wheels off the car for a somewhat mediocre reward.
Race: Had a decent start, started on lower boost to help alleviate the wheelspin I had gotten during a practice start on full boost and then upped it was we worked our way down the S/F straight. Snuck up the inside of a couple of cars going through T1 and was able to sort of hold onto the position just behind Bruno's McLaren which was a rocket ship down the streets of Detroit.
Spent a few laps sitting in behind Bruno and having a decently fun time working out a place to pass. I was quicker in the turns, due to my driving style, while that Motori-Moderni (Alfa-based right?) engine was pulling the Minardi quite quickly along the straights. About 8-9 laps in though Bruno either missed a gear or noticed that the engine was running a bit hot as his pace suddenly dropped and I were able to pull alongside and pass him going into Turn 1.
Spent a few laps pulling out a little bit of a gap but then, on lap 15, I made a horrid mistake and ran a bit too wide turning onto Saint Antoine and clipped the tirewall with the left rear and the car immediately recieved a toe-out on that corner of the car, making it quite a handful to drive.
Started to loose the gap I had built up and soon Bruno was breathing down my neck and I realised it would only be a matter of time before he passed me but decided I'd at least try to have him work for it. He ended up having a run on me as we turned onto Congress Str. East and I saw early he'd try to brake up the inside but as he wasn't fully alongside I broke at my usual point. I knew he was still there and tried to give a bit of room but in the end I had to try to make the turn or go straight into the run-off with slight contact as a result. With the 63% or something around there balance towards the rear in the Zakspeed, it did a Porsche and went around on itself. Changed it down another gear and tried to spin up the tires to keep her off the wall but were unable to and hit the rear end quite hard on the wall. Thanks goes to Little Al who made a very good avoiding manouver to not hit me there and then as he was only a few seconds behind the pair of us.
Got her turned back around and started crawling towards the pits. Noticed as I hit the depression in Larned Tunnel that I probably had a right rear puncture along with the missing Rear Wing. Almost managed to keep it between the walls, hit the wall going down the hill around the Arena and knocked the front right out of alignment as well for good messure.
Spent some 6-odd minutes awaiting the Zakspeed team to once again work wonders and the family atmosphere in the team clearly showed as they worked their a**** off straightening out the car. But in their exhuberence of getting the car back into shape they fitted the wrong compound of tires on the front.
Spent the rest of the race chatting away with Juha who soon was the only remaining survivor along myself in TeamSpeak. Enjoyed seeing a few of the battles that I had fly passed me and looked like some of you had some real ding-dong stuff going on.
All in all, a top 10 is a nice reward for soldiering on, but knowing that I had another 2+ seconds in the bag compared to what I could do with the crippled car, I can't help but feel like a very slightly possible points finish escaped me this weekend, which would have been a nice reward to the Zakspeed team for allowing me a couple of drives for them during the season so far. But I hope for their sake that CC is mending well and will be back to full streanght for Le Castellet.
Thanks for the broadcast, was enjoyable to watch and thanks to Bruno x2 for the battles we had during the race, made the race worth it as it's far more fun to have a fight than just drive around by yourself hehe.
