Hello everyone,
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Blake, aka CharlieTheRacer95 (and apologies to the mods if I flubbed setting up my account by accident, walk me through and I will make edits to your satisfaction) and have been into auto racing for nearly 22 years now and just about as long as such with gaming. While I have a stronger closeness to NASCAR in 1999 onward into the new century and beyond; I did get into IndyCar around 2003 with the sport of the Indy Racing League (my first race was at Kentucky Speedway for the 03 event), and had a liking towards Champ Car for what very few races I saw, and the highlights on Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain.
With some disappointment on NASCAR's side in the last handful of years, other interesting things came into my life including sim-racing and moreso, wanting to learn more about the history of racing, even before I became a fan. I've grown to like the old guys like Mears, Foyt, Rahal, Al Unser, in the USAC/CART days, Gant, Richard Petty, Davey Allison, Jimmy Means on the NASCAR side, and while I'm not as big overall into F1 due to my difficulty in both watching races live and too getting over the hump between the idea of the best teams generally getting the best drivers and dominating (Hamilton especially), I do have appreciation for the engineering that was made in the 60s and 70s in Grand Prix racing.
Overall, I'm hoping to get into the 1978 USAC IndyCar mod here if I can figure out how to download it, and hopefully get some more laps in Automobolista. I LOVED the rFactor/Automobolista CART 1988 mod from race department, and with wanting to learn more about the past of auto racing but appreciate it in a more interactive form.
Hope to enjoy the community and once I get the grips of racing the USAC cars, hopefully make some IndyCar starts ahead
