Hello everyone, just wanted to mention the rallies I host over on rallysimfans.hu (the easy-to-install RBR mod). Last year I felt the urge to do some rallying with historic cars, and the only way to really set up your own rallies is to use rallysimfans website and do it online. Anyone and everyone can join, but since it was in no way organized or through a community, it was just myself racing against myself, to see if I could survive the challenge. So I'm throwing it out there, if you want to do some historic rallying on some historic rally stages, look for the rallies I host. It's hosted under my username is Cheeveer, usually 3 legs with 3 or 4 stages each, super rally is on. Cars from group 2, 4, A and B cars are eligible. I usually follow the WRC schedule or whatever historic rally it's "season" for, so today I set up a Monte Carlo rally; just look for "A Monte Carlo Rally" in the online rally list. www.rallysimfans.hu/rbr/rally_online.phpThe tentative schedule for this winter is Monte now, an Arctic Finnish rally in a week or so, and a Swedish rally the week leading up to the WRC round. After that it really depends on what is available through the rallysimfans mod, sadly Mexico, Corsica, Portugal, San Remo and Acropolis isn't really worthwhile, but last year I did Safari, Poland, a Swedish summer rally, Estonia, Finland, Czech and RAC.Would be fun to have some company out on the stages!

how long is each rally active for, one week? I love rally (and RBR) so something like this would be interesting to do. Just a matter of finding the time to do it.

I'm AFK most of this week, so I'll set it up when I get from Piteå and the Race of Champions on Monday.

I retired in SS6 which was difficult somehow. I was doing pretty good up till then though. Looking forward to the next one!

I managed to finish the rally without any major incidents, 3rd overall out of 5 non-super-rally finishers, less than a minute behind the winner, so quite happy with that! TBH it is not often I can do these 9-10 stage rally's without writing off at least one car. Getting better all the time! 42 starters for this random event, quite cool! Oh, and Rally Sweden is up! Open until Monday! www.rallysimfans.hu/rbr/rally_online.php?centerbox=rally_list_details.php&rally_id=52379A bit different format as there are fewer stages to choose from in Sweden. Re-using one of the Finnish stages as it fits the landscape quite well.

Depending on the will of German postal services to deliver mail in the next few days, maybe I manage joining

Well done! Moving forwards, I'll make the legs shorter, with shorter service time between them also, so you don't have to forgo 3-4 stages with super rally if you crash.

I probably made a mistake by leaving in the middle of leg 1 and couldn't continue. First two stages were a disaster, but I slowly got the hang of it in S3. Ah well, better luck next time

Ah well, better luck next time Yes, when asked about whether you want to continue with super rally you must answer yes immediately, otherwise you get DNF'd from the whole event. You can only leave the rally after you have finished a leg, so that's another point why I will make the legs shorter in the future. It might cheapen the endurance aspect of rallying, but it is no fun to forgo 1/3rd of a complete rally just because of one mistake. I'd rather have shorter service stops and penalties from repairs than having to use super rally.

That's actually fine for me, I just wasn't aware. It was close to 1.30 am when I finished S3 and considered, that even with a late shift, I better fetch some sleep. Next time I know better and plan accordingly. The Escort is a pretty fun ride, though

Will take a little break from rallying for a couple of weeks, I think, but maybe a Rally New Zealand after that? What do the people want! Estonia and Poland also has high quality gravel stages. Portugal used to be held in March too, but not very many stages from there.

Hm, in the 80's Rally Portugal was a mixed asphalt-gravel rally, so with a mix of Spanish and Portugese stages there could be something proper there. That'll be next, next week perhaps.

Those stages are tough. Will give it a go later this week. I think I will redo this Madagascar rally when it is closed. Only one driver has finished so far out of maybe 70 drivers.

Also wrecked on the first stage, lol. There was an escape road shut off with just some red tape, thought it'd be safe to go there as a outbraked myself, but that tape was solid and my car was toast.

Drove the first two stages three or four times each offline, thought 'you gotta get through the first and the last mile, the rest is challenging, but with some ease no big problem'. Went pretty well and got a bit cocky, and finally hit the only pole close by. On S1, that is...
