I'm wondering: the WEC cars have a engine option that allows them to use a qualifying engine... while others (among me) use the Japanese endurance cars, which don't have qualifying engine option... (as far as i can tell/see) Is this normal? This is how it stacks: The works cars are the only ones with a Qualy engine. The works and the joest cars are the only ones with the works race engine. All other 956s have the privateer 83 spec race engine.

Any chance we can persuade the Dorset boys to bring qualifying tyres to future events as well? The Dome and Courage seem to be the only ones that don't have that option.

Reminders for tonight:
The race starts at 19:00 CET, not the more usual 20:00.
Drivers who share a car are free to decide who qualifies the car. Swapping during the session is allowed, so both drivers can try, but they can't be present simultaneously with the same car. The driver who is not driving the car can only be logged on as a spectator. If he wants to take over, they must swap during a pit stop (or leave the server).
Also the pace car is slow accelerating out of chicanes and the final turn, and can't be overtaken before it enters the pits, so beware of this.

Say, which #20 am I again? The '84 LM one or the '84 WEC one?
The driver name suggests the LM car, the wing on the front(according to the picture you posted) suggests the WEC car listed under Sigala.
I kinda slept over this thing...

John Thim (khm, khm) , my apologies for closing you down on Parabolica entry. I checked the mirror and you look so far I focused on entering the turn, and then realized you were there... Was not intentional! Very frustrating driving this bullet of a car with being lapped so much.. once you exit trajectory its hell to keep it on the track.. Finally, I lost concentration seeing Thim leaving the track... missed the braking point. Too bad

Gosh, it seems like my skill regresses, stupid noob mistake having contact with the last tyre stack at the first chicane ;( I'll join you there , I hit the first tyre stack at the first chicane. The Nimrod was going well but a little bit of damage upset the handling and I hit the tyre stack (Classic racing driver excuse).

hectic start lost a lot of places, overtook some here and there, weird pit situation where jason white was in my stall, slowly working up into P13 and then lost connection on lap 49

Gave up. Six minutes repair after being stuck in the pits for 3 minutes behind Bruno just doesn't do it for me. Until then, I enjoyed the race for the most part. I had a close call in the first stint, when I braked for Ascari and something in my ankle just blocked and I couldn't really apply the neccessary brake pressure. Just missed the tire stacks by ever so much. Another hairy situation in the second stint, when I was checking what was going on behind me and I got a bit too much to the right under the bridge. Else, a racelong fight with Francisco, who was a bit better in the second half of the stint, and me usually on a full tank. Into the third stint, I was about 15 seconds short of Francisco after the second stop and tried to make up some time, but got a bit too wide into Parabolica and hit the barrier. All bits still attached, but seriously bent. That was, when I realised why Bruno flashed me at the first pit stop...
Oh well, else, the car was pretty fine, just not exactly up at the same level as the other Porkers. Even the Nimrods could challenge me in the beginning. Sorry for that tap, David, realised to late you were having a glance on the inside.
And then, there was a problem of completely different nature developing in the second stint. Won't go into details, but I had to rearrange my bits during the second stop. Good thing one has two minutes on a regular stop...

My sincere apologies to Gabriel for the contact near the end; I am glad he was able to finish 3rd at least. I was having a great race for myself and just ran out of concentration at the end. I knew those darn Lesmos were my weak point, and they ended up biting me. Disappointed and a bit embarrassed, but learned a lot. Hopefully I will be able to contend for points in Round 2. Kudos to Jonatan for a great battle.

Frustrating but fun race, although I spent most of it alone. The start was messed up due to being stuck behind another car on the grid and then trying to regain the positions before the green flag. Had a nice battle with Martin for a while. Both pit stops got messed up due to the shared pit stalls. 1st stop was worse than the 2nd as I did an extra (slow) lap instead of waiting in the pits for the 2nd stop, which saved some time but it wasn't ideal. Could've been 6th if not for that but 7th isn't bad. Looking forward to more of these races.

No problem Jason! It's a racing incident, it happens and I knew of the risk when diving into the gap after Juha.

Wow, guys, what a race.
Thanks for the kind words!
We had a couple of technical issues (I didn't envisage re-installing the WEC84 mod mid-race), but we got there in the end.
Phenomenal, consistent pace from Gio on those monster two stints. It was well worth the time we put in to get the setup balanced for the two of us.
I can't wait for the next one!

First win at ISO for both me and Liam at Monza, i couldn't ask for Better. We had some technical issue and i had to drive for the second stint too. Was a fantastic race, seemed like a chess game but all went fairly well. Liam did a wonderful, quick last stint and his pace was impressive. Gabriel was a surprise and Juha was very quick too.
Congrats to all finisher and thanks to Matt for the broadcast!

Some notes for people watching the stream late:
- The race was 500km, not 300km. My mistake. I think I remember doing a DRM 1984 race which was 300km (it was probably 500) long which is why I assumed the distance.
- John Thim was the person who went over the fuel limit back in 2021 at the DRM 1984 Nurburgring race, I messed that one up too, not Oscar, who I couldn't remember the name of in the moment.
- I mistakenly called Curva della Roggia "Curva del Variante"
- I didn't get through the grid order quick enough (28 cars wow!) So my bad on that too.
