Connection Lost with 30 laps to go and lying inside the Top 10. Not that I'd have stayed there because I put it in the wall on the restart after I tried to read the multiple Follow Driver X/Ahead of car you should be following/Early/Stop&Go accelerating messages I got coming out of Turn 4.

I completed 199 laps and finished 6th on the road. Was given an unfair penalty on lap 138 due to an end of line scoring error (I rolled through the pits without stopping, and this apparently confused USAC man).

Nothing was going to stop me today. Not game glitches, not people crashing in suspicious ways, nothing. I drove my heart out and earned it. Not very humble about it, that race was MINE.
Full race report coming tomorrow. I'm going to savour this.

Apparently when you can't pass someone, who is a full Lap ahead of you, you're supposed to just run them over. You're damn lucky I didn't hit Jason or anyone else when I came back up the track, THIAGO!
Jason, I'm deeply sorry about what happened. You can blame me for sure, I hit you from behind. I felt very very bad when I realized I couldn't avoid it. If you see the replay it was rough, literal hit from behind without a reason. The reason was, in a fraction of second I switched to full scr rear view mirror, but that fraction of second I'm not sure what happened, if I got catch by double draft or if you slightly lifted, so when I switched back it was loo late. I would never push someone out of track like that. That was gross and unforgivable from my part. But I honestly understand your frustration and disappointment, I would be in the same situation if I was in your place. I'm deeply sorry Jason.

Nice "O", the Ontario owners will be happy of that signature I'm still cursing my bad luck with those two undeserved penalties I had something prepared for you and would have brought the fight to the end. And then, just as I was looking at damage limitation with a 6th place, I went and screwed it all by myself Well, long championship, so we'll see where we are at the end.

Mm, the game glitching spoiled the party a bit. Feel bad for Cezariusz too, he was FAST. Thiago put up one hell of a fight at the end though, he came from nowhere.

Probably the penalties were deserved according to the game logic, will have to review that but since I bit the bullet and served them I guess it doesn't matter anymore. But, just in case we left a 250 laps margin so that you can choose to gamble on finishing the race and let the board review it. If it was deserved, you get DQ, if not, you get your finish position.

Not sure the full results yet, soon to watch broadcast.
It was a lot of fun while lasted! Some great constant competition, shout out to Alberto, Adam, Jukka, CC-ski, Ray who all immediately come to mind. (probably forgetting someone) And Jacob, who at the time of my retirement(lap 138?) had been driving a near perfect race!! Great race brother12028 Was hoping to be near you towards the end, but forgot to shift at a restart. (dunce cap emoji)
Some close calls here and there while in traffic or for position. Phew But all good.
Great track!

Can you elaborate a bit more Raul? Was an accident or wrong penalty triggered by that, or what other reasons do you have to believe it would be better? Like I already said, we wanted to get rid of as many chances of penalties as possible, but we will for sure take into account all info you guys can provide about whatever bad side effects it can cause. At some point (Probably just before Indy, when we have raced one track of each type) there will be a patch to update the mod according to the experience from the previous races, so feel free to point out any issues. Only thing we ask for, please be specific, not just commenting personal impressions but detailing like "in this situation, this and that happened, etc"

A great race to be part of last night , such a high event next to indy
made a setup for just finish in a stable car, went all well till lap in between lap 20-30 i led the race then the pacecar released me , as a reward i got a penalty, god knows why, so 1 lap behind and loosing more for a fuel / tire pitstop, now just survive and cope with the blue flags , i tell its a nightmare and then the guy who fight in between the leader cars and his own contenders simply bruises and knocking there sidepods to rubish, gaining positions under yellow flags , it was old bad stuff over again , glad he DNF! track was much safer. just made 2 extra repair pitstops last i made a mistake to lower the fuel ammount on the straight on my buttons but car slid into the pitwall and also again a stop n go penalty for a reason i cant find in the last part of the race.
top 10 was possible but if the USAC guys didnt pay attention so much to Hursty Linda Vaughn ! hehe

Please for any personal complaints against other drivers use the protest form. But in any case I think you might be overlooking the "race to the flag" rule - it is legit to overtake once the yellow is thrown, until you reach the s/f line. I stated specifically in the pre-race briefing that the SC is sensible to accelerating too early. If you stay around 100-110 MPH after it enters the pits, you won't get any penalty and I can attest to that having launched the race myself on the lead in some cautions. The main difficulty (and possible source of penalties) we are getting with the current set of rules is because the pits being open all the time, many people dive and cross the s/f line inside them and the game tries to reorder them after exiting but sometimes the caution is too short for that. Thus you get to cross the s/f line before getting to the correct place, because the driver you are told to follow might even be at the opposite end of the track. Please NOTE that the game might give you messages and not do anything, but will apply the penalty when you go for green. You have leeway to comply until then, but if you did not you will get the penalty then. And it might confuse you about the cause of it, you might think it was because of something related to your start, when it actually was not the case. At Trenton we will have some more caution laps (The track is shorter anyway) and the cars will be more grouped so it will be easier to identify the car you have to follow and comply. In any case, please all bear in mind that the game is not perfect, but neither were the real USAC officers (In fact they were notoriously incompetent ) and that bad luck is the same for everyone and tends to even out over the season. There is NO perfect way of having caution laps under yellow and never have an issue, so we have to live with this and accept is as part of the handicap.

Jacob takes a good lead in the championship thanks to the big points in this race. Some homework to do for the rest of us.

Well, after a disastrous qualifying heat this race certainly made up for it. I had a safe set up with slightly higher wing which made me a sitting duck on the straights if a wasn't in someones draft. Came close to not staying on the lead lap a couple of times. Like many other towards the end had a stop and go , and Jacob gave me a scare when he span in front of me exiting the pits on my last stop. And If it hadn't been for the last yellow I would have finished third as I knew Cezariusz would get me on the restart. Although it was a tiring race I really enjoyed it. Well done to Jacob, and thanks for the broadcast.

Considering that the VPJ2 is an inferior car, and my lowly starting position, I am really happy with my 6th place result The initial laps for me were uneventful, but mid-race I made a poorly timed pit stop, which cycled me back to 20th place. Lots of stressful, close quarters racing back there. I did have incredible luck throughout the race, avoiding at least three accidents, maybe four. There were many cars several laps down that were quicker than me, which made for some awkward exchanges in turns 1 and three. By the end, my car was pretty well used up, and I was really in no shape to challenge Hlavac for 5th, so I cruised home after one last splash and dash. Was sorry to see my teamie Alberto wreck late, even if I was a benefactor. Had particular fun dicing with Thiago Looking forward to Trenton in about a month; will be a fun challenge.

I beg again to reconsider "race to the line" under yellows rule.. You caught me snoozing just before start finish once. It was cool, no? Extra opportunity to gain a position, you took advantage! Not sure why peeps dont like it? 5 pending yellows equals 5 less slow laps I was backing out in turn 3 and 4 if nobody was close enough to pass. Get tight to pack ahead by turn 2 anyway.

Well, my race was going well...After my Qualifying Heat, myself and Jacques made wholesale changes to my car to try and...un-tighten it. Not necessarily loosen it up, but make it so it wasn't as tight as it was during the Heat. Ended up going too far and had to back it up a little. But, by race day I had a comfortable set and was ready.
I'd made the real conscious decision to actually take it easy and not just say I'm gonna take it easy like I have in the past. Took it easy at the start and was nearly freight trained. By the first yellow, I'd only lost 2 spots I think, but I managed to make them up fairly easily in short order and then settled down. Was a bit demoralized when the Mongoose passed me early on but I got back by him eventually. With the first 2 pit stops I'd fall back, but it didn't take long to get back up into the Top 10. Managed to avoid the Alberto/Thiago crash, I did spin avoiding them both, but I didn't hit anything. Finally ended up, for lack of a better word, stuck behind Jason. I could tell I was handling the corners better than he was, but that VPJ was a rocket on the straights. By this point I'd figured out that if I drafted up until the Tach Red lined and I hit about 213, I could pop out and maintain that speed, but not get by someone, but if I rode the brakes a tiny bit into the turn, they tended to run high and I could hold the bottom and go by them. I had been trying to get Jason setup for this, when I was drilled from behind 3/4's of the way down the back straight. I'm still amazed how more people weren't involved in that deal.
In the end, I think I've learned some stuff for Indy.
Grats to Jacob on the Win, that car was a Rocket. Also, I was a bit puzzled by Jukka's "antics" under caution, glad to see he wasn't sure what was going on either.
Looking forward to Trenton

I did not crash with Thiago

I did not crash with Thiago When you had your spin in first qtr of race? Thiago was just behind you, with Me just behind him. I was squeezing on the power to get a run down the straight and had great momentum to close on Thiago, you got caught in another two cars tangle and lost the rear, the tangle along side caused Thiago to lift, I lifted/braked but made light contact with Thiago's gearbox. Alberto spinning to left, Thiago spinning in front, me hard on anchors, Fitch closing in avoided all with a spin of his own. Felt like slow motion, but all happened within a second I think this is the moment he is referring to? Thiago almost saved it in front of me, but all were heroes in avoiding massive damage at that time!!! I saw it on broadcast too

But I did not remember Thiago being behind me or touching me.

Fist of all, welcome back Petr. I and everyone we are really happy to see you racing again after everything you went through, and very competitive in the best Petr style.😁
I didn't have too much time to understand the car but the time I had I practice a lot. 400+ laps in 1.5days. Very interesting mod. I love it!!
I knew I had a good race pace and wanted to be safe in the first half part of the race, let everybody pass me at the start and restarts early in the race.
Brian spun me at T2, 3 cars ahead of me were about to tangle themselves and I think I lifted and he had no place to go. It happens. I confess I lost my coolness having my car damaged and being a lap down. So I had to push to get the lap back. I knew it wouldn't be easy but I had to try. I was behind Fitch and Petr was behind me. I glanced at full screen mirror for fraction of second at exact same time that Fitch had lifted when he was behind Jason. Very unlucky, I know he got the worst of it but I also was very sad by taking out a friend who dedicated time preparing for this race.
After that, the car was in bad balance with front and rear yellow. After 2 more FCY I recovered my lap back and started to move up in the classification. Almost got overtook by the safety car in 2 occasions fixing the car in the pit lane, but somehow managed to stay in the leader lap.
Got a stop and go like some of other drivers. Maybe it was because Juha spun at the restart before the start finish line and as everybody overtook him just before the yellow come we got penalized.
In the last pitstop I didn't change tires doing only a splash in lap 172 putting me in the 1st position in the end but it cost me pace having tires more than 40 laps old. Jacob was just cooking me , very smart as he knew he had the pace to make the move. Great race from him, always a contender during the race, very fair result for him.
Once again, I'm sorry Jason for the stupid accident.
Congratulations to Jacob for the win and Cezariusz for the great comeback in the end.
Amazing broadcast Jonathan!!
Thank you guys!
See you on track
