I think the ones driving the Brabham will the ones with the most break ups... due to the 7-speed gearbox But hey, at least that means I can finally remove those spiderwebs from my TH8A's 7th gear I know that feeling,

Actually being down the straight in 7th at the redline and shifting to reverse must be quite an interesting experience ... You can skip gears

First is overrated! Only used at the start or at the most aggressive corners and chicanes.

Amazing job guys!! Every detail is modelled and all the upgrades along the season are featuring. I Hope attend this championship if work permits. The 1983 to 1986 seasons in Formula 1 are the best ever (in my humble opinion ). Thanks for your effort!! As an appetiser:

And now for a change, let's have a look at some of the stunning work from David Sabre in the 1978 USAC mod. Here is the beautiful AAR Eagle 78 Cosworth, with its magnificent skin (That was indeed a PITA to paint ) and below it, the Lightning MKI the team had to use for the first few races, while the Eagle was readied.

Getting source material for those cars must be very difficult. Nice work!

I watched the '78 Indy on YT and noticed the #20 Wildcat of Johncock had an interesting second wing above the front wing. I've looked at footage of Brands Hatch and while the #20 didn't have it anymore, the #14 Coyote of A.J. Foyt still had his own wing.

The Bob Riley designed cars (Coyote and Wildcat here) had good aerodynamic penetration and downforce with the shovel nose, but unfortunately were hard to balance, therefore those extra winglets at the front were added by the teams. It depended on driver preference if and when they were used, and there was no clear cut. Neither Foyt nor Johncock ran them at superspeedways like Texas or Michigan, Foyt ran it at Pocono and not at Indy, while Johncock ran it at Indy and Pocono.

That's interesting. Will the drivers that get those cars compete with whatever the real configuration was back then?
And I did watch enough of the two races and look at entry lists to be able to tell that they are different cars...

I have implemented a simplification of it. At superspeedways where low drag is requiered the cars will have no front wing, then at speedways like Trenton, short tracks and road courses they will get the front wing. The Wildcat will also have it at Indy, the Coyote won't there or at Pocono (Even if it had it in real life at Pocono, but I will do a single 500 mile config for the car).

I like what I see so far, and the challenge of 3 road circuits also welcome!
