"Could you have done it without a Rothmans?"
The scene is from the 1988, a 15' minute roadside gearbox swap somewhere in Jordan.

Check the director: Bill Mason. Father of Nick. Yeah, that Nick Mason!
I think I'd probably pass up on a full season in '30s GP cars, they're just too much for me, but something '50s or '60s is definitely overdue in these late '70s/'80s-centric times!
A proper GT Mod of that era would be appreciated, as well

The Final installment, not as good or in depth as the previous 3, but still pretty good.

What a ridiculous shitshow. These cars have so much downforce and need to be so straight to keep it that they were only slightly sideways and going way too quick. They just run and run the same line until they remove the dirt and then can put the tires on the asphalt below and be even quicker, while making it harded to overtake. If Nascar wants to return to dirt they better use dedicated tracks and eliminate the downforce or it will be just the same boring stuff but with more cleaning job for mechanics afterwards.

I'll be honest, I quite enjoyed NASCAR back on the dirt. I do agree that the downforce could have been less and racing would have probably been better. That being said, the track slicked off quick in every car that ran there from Trucks to Cup to even the Super Late Models for the Bristol Dirt Nationals. I think it is less of the track not being a "dedicated dirt track" and more that the cars were a bit more stuck that they should have been. Despite the track slicking off the Super Late Models, they still put on a good show because of the car.

Late Models always look like they already had a crash before being unloaded in the paddock... ...I remember always having a good time dirt tracking in N2003 with the Grand National mod, though...
...got a bug to model something, but still looking for a good idea...

My vote goes to Daytona 500 '79. Including extension to another appropriate game for settling disputes post-race ... in orderly fashion

The world of Outlaws race in a few weeks will be the better of the shows.
I do believe they chose the wrong track to do this at though. The Stocks, Crates, UMP Mods, and Super Mods were all basically running flat with one groove. Trucks and Cup had multiple grooves until the track slicked off and then it was only one groove. The problem from the Cup and Trucks perspective is the cars themselves. Any track over a half mile will be a single groove track. If that's what we want, then take them to DuQoin or Springfield and run the miles there like ARCA does. If you want a racy dirt race with them, then you're going to have to run them on an actual dirt track and it's going to have to be a short one, less than half a mile that's NOT Eldora.

Those are some fair points. Honestly, I would like to see Dirt Bristol return but I would also like to see a 1/4 mile bullring for some real madness.

The way this thing picks up with the boost gives me goosebumps ... and watch the time lapse between the guy flooring it and the engine responding. Must have been crazy to anticipate properly the moment to floor it exiting the turns

I suppose this should technically be in the "music" section, but a selection of F1 engines "cruising" past during a Zandvoort exhibition run a few years ago.
The '86 Twin-Turbo Alfa engine is real nice in it's sound in my view...

Not many nice words one can say about that car, but its certainly a winner in the sound category!

Curiously, Zakspeed running a post-season tests. They retired the team in 1989 yet. I red that Schneider tested in Estoril too and he took a lap-time that could put him at 6th place at the grid in 1989 GP. I believe that Zakspeed had potential, but this F1 times (with pre-qualify) didn't forgive fails. About de Cesaris and Briatore, he tried to Join in Benetton at 1988 but the team took a Camel sponsorship (doing a Tobbaco sponsorship mismach with Marlboro, which de Cesaris had a personal sponsor deal). When Naninni had his helicopter accident in 1990, he was the first to call Briatore about the Cockpit to run in Suzuka and Adelaide. But we know that Moreno took the #19 car.
